The University of Washington Board of Regents was directly addressed by student-protesters at a meeting on Thursday afternoon. The students formally asked for the university to divest itself of ties to Boeing and Israel.
The hour-long public testimony included multiple students and chants of “Free Palestine” from the capacity crowd inside a UW campus meeting room.
Board Chair David Zeeck said members would not respond to the specific testimony, but did allow for extra time for the formal reading of an Associated Students of the University of Washington resolution.
The Board then went into an executive session with UW President Ana Mari Cauce. After returning, Zeeck and Cauce addressed the protesters, but not a path forward.
