Many big fish hopefully, cant wait to get on the water with ya!
Lol the shimano Sarogosa is IPX8 more sealed than the Penn slammers. But a great set up. I have 2 penn slammers. 4500 and 5500. You won't be disappointed.

You are right, lol. I misspoke, what I meant to say was that I wanted the extra drag in case. Thanks for watching and commenting! Looking forward to bringing in some big fish on the setup!

Can’t decide between saltist Saragossa and slam
Have you had a weird noise when winding the reel not lined up, like a slight grinding noise

I have not had this issue with my slammer as of yet. I did have a similar issue with my battle dx, i opened it, and the gears weren't greased from the factory. I would recommend taking apart the casing and making sure the worm gear and the spur are greased properly. If not it may just be a slight gearing defect, so make sure they mesh properly. I plan on doing a review and tear down to talk about some notable points of the reel, so i will touch on the gearing in that video.
Hi, can someone here give an educated guess on the 6500 model? I'm looking forward to went fishing for cod and halibut in the north of norway in a few weeks, and i need a reel with capabilities to fish pelargic in very deep depths AND also trolling shallow under the surface and in all depths in mid-water. In other words, I'm looking for a durable allrounder for sea fishing.. recommendations? thx

Hey there, if you're going to be trolling and deep dropping, you will likely want to get an open face reel also known as a "conventional reel". Trolling with a spinning reel will result in line twists and such. You'll also likely want to look at one with the dual gearing which is a button that allows you to change the gear ratio while fighting a fish to give you more power to get it off the bottom. I believe penn and shimano both make reels that have this function. Hope this helps.
How many yards of 80lb braid do you think it can manage?

I put on right about 500 yards of 30lb beyond braid in the camo color. works great on this setup, I like it just as much as power pro, but it is significantly cheaper. So far, I'm a fan.
How has it held up?

Great for surf fishing, I've had it submerged and dropped it in sand a bunch of times and still works great. Solid reel.
