I guess the game had a good go on this channel, loved it for as long as it lasted. :D

I'll miss the series, but I will say I didn't really enjoy the land battles. They were tedious to watch; as well as just long and full of losses. Which was actually true of real land battles at the time. It's just unfortunate that that doesn't make for exciting gameplay especially from a watcher's perspective. Either way though I still almost always enjoy your content Stealth mostly because you talk through what your thoughts and strategy is in the moment even if I don't always agree with it. It's nice to hear your process. Keep up the good work.

Having watched one of your land battles, I don't think the series is much of an advance over Total War.

yeah, while the land battles were an interesting concept, they were laughable at best

I love the naval battles in this game so it's a shame to see the series go. Are there any older series you would consider restarting?

I’m super sad to see this game go stealth 😭😭😭 I wish you could keep it going but also completely understand that you need to keep the money coming in!

A suggestion for a game is "until we die" it comes out June 3rd its definitely different to what you normally play on YT but it could be a fun game off camera.

Thanks for the series! It's on my short list. A few warts in the gameplay, but looks like a blast.

I really loved this series :/

I know your more of a strategy kind of player, but have you heard of a game called "Assassin's creed IV: Black Flag"? It's kind of a third-person game, not quite sure how to describe it, but it does have a part of the game that is slightly strategy.

That's a shame. These videos are better in my opinion than the dreadnaught videos, because of the continuous campaign. I guess that is a limiting factor for drawing in new people though. Advice I heard from other KZreadrs was to avoid numbering series in the title, to stop people turning away that feel like they need to start at #1.

I understand why you're cutting it loose, but it's still a shame to see it go. Personally, I just didn't love watching the land battles. The rest of it was great.

it's a shame that first From The Depths, and now Age of Sail are leaving. i was _especially_ enjoying Age of Sail, but I understand: KZread is your living, and if a series is doing poorly, it isn't making money

Well the USN was a footnote until the launch of the Independence class Ship of the line in 1815. The Maltese Navy had more Ships of the line than USN although the later had some heavy frigates (The US did build a SoL in 1782 the USS America but it was transferred to the French Navy in 1783 and broken up in 1786). I think that the game is pampering US players by giving them a contra factual picture of the USN.

Can we give a +10.000 views to all videos so the series continues?

Wow, you can make a living off of KZread?! Anyway, contrary to what a lot of people have said in other comments sections on your vids, particularly the longer ones, I suspect video length may have some impact on your low view counts, especially when those videos are pretty much all raw footage which tends to be a lot of, no offence, the same stuff over and over again (e.g. UA:AoS and UAD are so often just ships endlessly shooting at each other). Even watching at x2 speed they feel slow and I often just click through to find the interesting bits and save time. While ultra dedicated ship nerds with lots of time on their hands may enjoy this, I'm going to hazard a guess that this demographic is rather small and that most people don't care much for (and it pains me to say this) long, slowly paced videos. Seriously consider editing your videos to improve this. For example, in this video, cut the bits where ships are just sailing around and the bit at the start where you're um-ing and ah-ing over what guns to take (that was literally five minutes (well, 2.5 at x2 speed) of me not paying attention because it honestly wasn't interesting at all). I know editing takes time and effort but well, you only get out what you put in.

Thanks for your insights. I know some people want more compressed videos, but long form content is what usually brings people to my channel. When I start cutting out parts people start asking why I cut it out.

Mate, this is how I make a living. More views = able to pay rent. Not getting views = not paying rent = back to a job = no videos at all. It's either working with games that get views and you being able to watch my content, or there won't be any content.

If you keep dropping series you'll end up like Wanderbots, lots of subscribers but pitiful views spread over a ridiculous amount of videos that keep lowering in quality. You're a variety channel covering mostly niche games, which inflates your subscriber count far more than your views, but you also post mostly unedited gameplay, so you lose plenty of views to review channels when covering niche games, and you post a LOT in terms of video length per day, so most people simply won't set aside the time to watch a series of yours unless they really like it. You need to change something: one option is to go for "let's look at" videos over full series for smaller games while you focus on one or two big series you personally enjoy a la Northernlion, but it's far from the only one.

@@Stealth17Gaming that was describing Wanderbots' channel, not yours: I would have simply unsubbed otherwise, as it happened with Wanderbots around Noita's Early Access launch. His videos dropped in quality in two main ways: on one hand, editing went from almost none to less than zero, to the point some videos were just him AFKing while trying to set up an online match or stuff like that, on the other he clearly stopped giving a shit about the games he was playing, and began using obscenely cheaty mods to try and force progress. As an aside, I'm not sure a 10% views to subscriber ratio can be achieved consistently with anything but heavily edited videos on a popular channel. To put things in perspective, LockpickingLawyer doesn't get that high all the time, despite him not having much competition and quite a few of his videos getting millions of views: some videos are simply less interesting than others.

The more series you start and drop after a while, the more subscribers you will accumulate without greatly increasing your actual view count. Instead, you might even lose views because people have plenty of choices for a "Review" channels with one or two videos per game and without the "danger" of getting sucked into a storyline. It is extremely frustrating to watch a story driven game develop, and the series ends halfway without any real conclusion. So people might wait until you have a series with at least a couple of episodes backlog to see if you really committed to it before even starting to watch. It all depends on the expectations. I think many people on your channel subscribe for a specific series (In my case your old Wargame videos) and might watch games that are similar or sound interesting. If this series is dropped, and they did not find anything similar or interesting in the meantime, they just stop watching without unsubscribing (I have a lot of channels, that I didn't watch in at least a year). If you keep that 10% mark, it can become a dangerous cycle (The LockpickingLawyer example from Asriel is a good one). One of the main features of your channel is (or was) for me that you stick to a game, even if niche. (To drop series that become just task to you or runs out of steam in general like WotS is completely fine because it is noticeable and will reduce viewers that way)
