Reminds me of a meme ship I made that had all the max speed, all the armor and with 3 dual 20 inch mains reliably ended every duel within 15 min starting at 25km.

Doesn't really work in a fleet battle. AI is good enough at prioritizing threats and vulnerable ships that they'll target that "glass cannon" and it ends up sinking after one or two plunging deck hits. And the only thing you can really do to stop them from targeting a dangerous, but large and fragile ship, is to push Destroyers into the enemy formation piecemeal to force them to panic-fire at the torpedo threat instead. Otherwise the destroyers get slaughtered too quickly to but the BC the time to reload and rack up its damage.

@@martenkahr3365 There is a way to make it work in-game similar to real life, but it requires asinine levels of micromanagement. Control your battlecruiser and just go full steam ahead and unload on the enemy. But have your camera focused on the enemy shooting at you. When they shoot, as soon the shells are out, have your battlecruiser turn hard left or right rudder for a few seconds. Then reset. Even if the AI has you dialed in (and it's the AI, they cheat like hell in UA:D, they certainly will be on target), they're going to miss. Ironically the only time you'll be hit is in the case of the AI actually missing you. But, admittedly, it's not a very entertaining way to play. Effective, somewhat realistic, but not very fun.

That looks like one of those ships that would take over 6 years to build in the campaign, so you'd probably end up being able to field it, but it would be at a massive tech disadvantage by the time it leaves the dock.

A Ship like this would go straight from the slipway into drydock for Modernization, due to being obsolescent by the Launch Date. After that Modernization Process, though? Holy shit, it'll be right back on top! In a period before anti-ship missiles and guided munitions tech, this ship would be the Pinnacle. Anti-air would need some upgrades. There may need to be some upper works added for the AAA spam. But as this Person said: /Angus MacChesney Angus MacChesney 7 months ago HMS Britannia; “Nobody can beat us. 22:52 this ship makes me think about a drawing i have seen what Yamato's successor would look like. Was it the Kii class, hull A-150?

In my experience, aka just watching you because I'm waiting for the game to be released on Steam, you seem to fight the biggest opponents when you go toe to toe with Germany and sometimes America. So if you wish to give this another go, I would certainly try those nations over China and Japan.

At 22:50 that ship looks like a A-150 class BB (or in World of Warships speak, the Shikishima or a smaller Satsuma)

That’s what I was thinking as well. They had plans to re-arm the Yamato class ships with twin 20”s once the A-150s were finished. Something like 8 or 10 super battleships with 6x20”s.

@@glauberglousger6643 From what I read somewhere, they planned to build 5 Yamato-class and 3-5 of the A-150s. I don’t remember where I read that, but if I come across it, I’ll provide a link.

To be accurate, the A-150 was supposed to be a larger hull with 4 twin turrets, this is closer to the proposed modification of the Yamato class of literally putting the same guns on the Yamato’s, and was actually planned for the Musashi

@@jibrilito7593 That was one of the canceled proposals (too big for dockyards), the A-150 design was completed but was destroyed at the end of the war. For all we know it was a Yamato with 51 centimeter guns and 10 centimeter dual purpose guns.

i know carriers won't be added to the game. i just wish their was a game where we can just design our own ships like carriers and battleships.

Trivia: The biggest ship ever concieved was the battleship IJN Zipang at 500000 tons. Needless to say it was impossible to actually DO that sort of a monster.

@@glauberglousger6643 There were many issues with it. It would be worth Japan's national budget for 10 years, there's no shipyard capable of producing one even half that size, the weapons would have immense attrition and so on. At the limit between impossible and improbable.

I feel in actual campaign range is going to be THE limiting factor, the britannia here is going to be a coastal defence ship and nothing else, but hey at least nobody is going to want to go anywhere NEAR where she can actually go with her tiny legs

I found that design a fleet of Graf spee like ships that are 90000 tons with two quad 18 in turrets and 12 in deck armour, 15 inch belt armour and 28 knots would handle anything ai can come up

And given a cruising speed and stability it can get insane. And yet the AI will still be more likely get lucky hits on you at range with smaller guns...

"I don't have any secondaries" I know the games doesn't count the 9" as a secondary, but it really is in comparison to the 16x 20" main guns

Small 9 inch gun. Mind having a 2 inch on top of that for cinematics? ( you can put small secondaries on some of the turret designs, not talking about the barbette, just for the lols) Also might wanna try looking at Germany for a competitor ( I know you are using the German hull for this design but whatever, as the Germans were notorious for thinking big)

I would love for this game to have a mode where you can turn off weight displacement limitations but you're simply penalized in other areas. Like, in my mind, imagine you have a super battleship to defend your most vital port, your aircraft carriers are gone and have to rely on landbased airfields, AA emplacements and destroyers/cruisers for air defense. In response, your only option to make this super BB any bit combat effective is to armor and arm the everliving hell out of it. We're talking as much armor and weaponry you can fit and the ship still float. It may move at half the speed of smell but the enemy would have all of their guns pointed at it.

For campaign thoughts, they already have some stuff in-game to reflect what it'll be like. Whether it's accurate or not right now, have no idea. Got build time and maintanence costs in the stats. Built something similar to your ship and end up with 55 month build time and over $500K/month. That's some significant time and effort that could be sunk by a much smaller fleet if they can get in and torpedo you (or you lose the war before it can be launched). And the fact you can build 2-3 more sane BBs or maybe 4-5 lighter BBs with that money that would finish faster. Also ships that have been around for 1-2 years longer than the big "hero" ship would have better trained crews and experience of any quirks ships have. Jutland is a great example, 2 different battlecruiser groups, 2 different training methods, the ones with the time and space to train long range gunnery accuracy hit more often than the ones who trained for speed loading. I really want some form of designing enemy fleets in the game to test out some budget constrained ideas. Do some consistant testing of 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1 instead of the crapshoot of what the AI builds right now.

could be fun to have as a feature to choose what type of battleships the enemy use

I wonder if any other hulls/tower combo can duplicate the excellent accuracy on that battleship. Please keep these long-range super-bb duels coming.

Wouldn't the rest of the turrets be okay after a flash fire unless they're extremely unlucky and all the doors happen to be open in the shell elevators?

I loved that Japanese battleship with the Fuso pagoda tower and 18 15" guns.

For the Campaign, the other restriction should also be the time to research all the components for something like this. All that research would probably mean you have to deprive your Navy of a budget to actually build enough of a fleet to keep the enemy at bay long enough to reap the rewards, meaning you have to build individually good ships but not much support for them and get new ones only every so often, so an enemy with a bit more of a research restriction but bigger build program might swamp you with technically less effective but much more numerous ships which would snowball out of control quite quickly, indeed.

i think you can armor against 20" guns but you would have to use a PQR set up with not much belt extended, basically a late ironclad armor set up like the HMS Colossus of 1882, kind of a all or nothing to an extreme. i think its the only keep the displacement down

well just sayin that the germans actually wanted to make a ship with 8x 20 inch (idk what 50cm are in inches) cannons also was it planned to be 345m long...

@Stealth17 Gaming could you test a theory I have it seem in Ultimate Abnormal Dreadnoughts you get more accuracy when you use both Gen. 2 RADAR and advanced radio finder together and not when you use just one alone could you test that?

Idea: 3 Chinese battle ships vs a fleet of 3 heavy cruisers and 4 lights with 2 battle cruisers you can lead eather a 1935 china fleet or a 1920 larger fleet

I've never understood the whole "warning to headphone users" thing. How fucking loud do other people normally have their headphones set at? 100%? Mine are always at 20 and I've never had any problems from "loud" noises. (Honestly, the 20" guns were quiet compared to his voice)

As an audiophile, I can safely say different headphones act differently, blah sounds stupid, but at the same audio level some sounds are going to be louder on a different set. It gets funkier when you start adding audio equipment into the mix as well. For example, it's not loud on my headphones, but at the same audio level it's ear-rapingly loud on my phone's speakers. I'm sure there's a technical term for it but, well in the infamous words of Todd Howard, "It just works".

The interesting thing is that the next day I did another battle: 1 BB vs 5 BBs. That's when I did NOT want to see big BBs. And of course that's when they spawned 5x 125k tons with 15 18-inch guns.

I'm chinese and let me say that China didn't have its first carrier till like 2012. And we never had a BB. Most of our ships in WW2 are all brought in or after the war japan give some to us as part of the treaty. If China did have a ship like that in the video, trust me. Even thou the ship might be outdated or pretty bad on the globe, the chinese officers will literally be happy as hell. During 1900s-2000s we were pretty weak, but now...I mean...Yeah, I love my country. (Except CCP, they did some weird and stupid decisions these years.But I love our navy, the type 003 CV is going down water soon. I would love to see that.)

@@jaimongenshinimpact6244 Yes, that would be cheaper and still powerful enough. Especially since Chinese interests are not that far from home shores. Russia currently also produces lesser ships, for example Essen-class frigates, it's cheaper to produce several destroyers fully packed with modern rocket launchers than a one big ship no matter how protected. The incident with Type 1164 "Moscow" several days ago showcases this and will push the doctrine to many cheaper ships even more.

@@user-ft9ul5ul5v 1164 Moscow incident was sad, Russia was more focus on single ship combat strength and not too much of fleet battle. Like the CV russia have, not many planes but a lot of missels and rockets so it can also hold itself in combat.

Stealth the reason you had German components is the 130000 tone hull is the German hull if you had used the hull with 120000 tone's displacement that is the Japanese super bb hull you would have had the super pagoda tower

They didn't give diesels as much of a buff as finally fixed problem of diesels also getting boiler weight accounted for. What boiler?:D

The AI clearly designed ships that are more sustainable. I imagine if both sides got an even amount of funds to build a fleet, and you would build the "hero" Super BB, leaving you with very few additional funds for the rest of the fleet, the AI would be way more formidable. If you think about it, you would win almost every single 1 on 1 fight vs AI, since you can purposefully build your ships to maximise damage while knowing the AI would never match the design. If the AI has the EXACT same ship as you, then it's just a matter of RNG lol

with .15% penalty for using quad turrets you are actually getting only 13.6 of the 16 guns points - use 3 gun 3 - 5 turrets and get full 15 gun points for damage

you could get away with huge battleships and fleet supercarriers if you made the rest of your navy nothing but frigates, destroyers, light cruisers and escort carriers (ie extremely easy ships to build in large numbers).

for quick conversions 3 feet = 1 meter

However, there are some issues about this kind of ships -The enormous amount of fuel that might consume -Imagine you are facing a lot of fast smaller ships, in a short range and be facing a lot of torpedoes. -The pain in the ass that should be losing this ship -He just can be in one place at a time (supposing there will be an strategic map like war on the sea) I think it isn't worth it bring such a behemoth to a campaign

Its very inefficient disign as well. I normaly go for 3x or 4x double barrel or 3x3 design and smaller towers if there are any (to place things closer to the middle and get good pitch rating). That way, your ship is much more accurate which results in roughly the same amount of hits / time and you get to play with extra displacement. But eh, most of us are for the meme ships here anyway, right?
