    It's called cArronades, not cOrronades. The range on these is not really good, but they got a great punch on short distances. The main armarment on a ship of line these days were 24 or 32 pounders. They only used carronades on the upper decks. So I would advise you to just switch the small calibre guns (9 pounder guns). Then you have a good mixture of punch and range.

    The USS Constellation (Sloop of War version, not the original Frigate) is located in my hometown of Baltimore, MD. You can go aboard and see everything. Its kinda cool. The coolest part is that when the USS Constellation was brought to Baltimore's Inner Harbor, the original museum organization thought that the ship was the original Frigate but alas, in the 1990's, it was determined that the version we have is the Sloop of War version, commissioned the same year the Frigate version was dismantled. Still cool though!!

    So, a bit of a helpful trick that the game doesn't explain for whenever you record the next video (if it's not done yet). You can actually sell back the guns you replace on your ship by going to the shop and under naval weapons (which makes changing guns way less costly overall as you recoup some of the money). Anyways, love the series so far!

    From what Ive seen in your videos the best way to kill those row boats with surviving crew is to use regular round shot as it looks like they have only 1 HP so a couple round shot balls will sink the row boat and the crew with it

    16:20 "It's too valuable to sink" Thank you! At last you got into the right mindset for that period. ....and threw it overboard again less than a minute later. UAD-syndrome at work: Sink everything. *sigh* You have seen how effective the carronades can be. Your main problem at this point is that you keep using too few crew. You keep running with around optimal crew for operations WITHOUT damage/boarding. Meaning once either of the two happens, you end up undermanned!

    Ah, the USS _Constitution._ The oldest commissioned warship in the world, and the oldest ship of any type still afloat. She's one of the only Civil War-era ships still afloat (she served as a training ship during the States War), along with the second _Constellation._ She's a piece of history.

    Loved the video Stealth17 Gaming! If the previous land battle was anything to go by, you'll need to set up some reasonably strong defences to say the least. However, you'll be marching in towards the Battle most likely, therefore get some better support for your infantry, like better artillery or maybe more men for your units, because now you'll be marching "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" as the Marine corps Hymn says!

    I've personally found putting the 32pdr Woolwich cannons in the 4th rate USS classes works REALLY well for devastating broadsides, while also having good range. Much better then the cannonades or whatever I find. Unless you mix the big 40+pdr carronades or whatever with a reinforced hull upgrade or something similar your ships have to get in to close to make use of them, making them take a beating like what happened with the Constellation in your fight

    Judging by the title, USS Constitution shows up at some point. Edit: well that was fast, OK stealth quick Cannon lession: Carronades (c-Air-on-aid-es) are the Cannon equivalent of SHOTGUNS, LOW range (basically point blank unless we are talking about Congreves carronades, they do have better range), High Damage, lower weight then standard cannons. Cannons, well their Cannons. Heavyer then carronades, Better Range and penetration at range, decent damage. Their are several variants of them. Generally speaking since the upper decks have a lower weight capacity then the gun decks, have CANNONS on the lower gun decks and Carronades on the upper or top decks.

    Use cannon balls only for long range or for ships you want to sink. Its better to capture as much ships as possible, even ships you dont want/need for your fleet, you can sell them for reputation points or take them in your fleet to sell them for money. Also you get muskets and prisoners from captured ships, wich you can sell for reputation or money Max out the crews of your ships, give them muskets with bajonet or swords. Upgrade the ships with gun carriages, better Sails (speed, not HP) and copper sheeting. Use cannons with high accuracy and/or range, and carronades, the bigger the better, if you can fit the 68pdr, go for it, but keep the speed higher than 9kt, better over 10kt. In battle, if you have the Lee position, stay at distance and use your range advantage to gun the crew down or slow the enemy a little down (not to much, that increase the repair cost later). If you have the Luv position, go in, use grape shot and enter the enemy quickly, try to go for the biggest ships first. A captured ship dont cause damage to you and also cant reinforce other ships with crews. If you cant fill all slots with war ships, you can also send a troop transport with them, to refill the crew on the war ships, just keep the troop transport out of trouble. Also trim one or two 5. grade ships for speed (14kt or more), to chase down enemys who try to escape or to intercept enemy reinforments to keep them busy.

    Also dont trust the description of the guns, look at the stats. The description of the Bogards Long was probally written by Woolwich. The Bogards Long has the best accuracy and range in 12, 18 and 24pdr, only the Desgaulier (4-9pdr) and the French Re-bore (32 and 42pdr) are better. The downside is, the Bogards Long is the heaviest and has the longest reload time

    It's not that the 42 pdr carronades don't fit in the second deck of USS Constitution, but it's that you don't have enough 42 pdr guns to equip that deck 😂 😂 😂 Also, carronades are the most OP gun in the gun, I have tested it and even in Hard difficulties of Barbary War they still cut through enemy ships like butter, especially after you equip the ships with Reload and Damge mods, and get right besides the enemy ships 😂 😂 😂

    A "ship of the line" has at least 2 gun decks. Frigates do not as they only have one gun deck. While they may have guns on the upper deck, this is NOT a gun deck. Confusing, I know, but that's the "rules" lol. A 54 would be about the smallest "ship of the line" you'd see, but by this time in history they'd be too small for line of battle with most of the main combatants being 80 and 90 gun monsters. Any attached frigates would stay WELL clear of the line and snipe from the edges with 12-24 pounders (if they had them). Most frigates at this time would have a 12 pounder lower battery with some carronades ( pronounced karron-aids), with a 9 pound upper battery and some swivel guns. Occasionally darting in to rake an unwary "liner". Otherwise they'd likely be crushed with a single broadside. An 80 gun ship would throw more weight in one lower-deck broadside than a frigate could throw out both sides at once. Ships like Santissima Trinidad in her 130-gun format.....well you don't want to know...... Ships solely armed with carronades were tried by the British and when first encountered, they annihilated their opposition nearly instantly. However once they were a known ship by the enemy, then it would simply be a matter of sailing circles around her outside of carronade range (which is VERY short compared to long guns) and just chopped to pieces. 50 gun two-deckers were trialled and produced in large numbers. Sadly they were quickly surpassed by 60 and 70 gun 3rd rates. Rapidly it was decided that they were "neither fish nor fowl, nor good red meat" as they were too small for the line and too slow to operate with frigates. Their main role ended up being blockade ships, harbour guards, fast transports or convoy escorts on foreign stations.

    Sir, if you triple tag team,, a enemy ship,, you can stand off and blast 💥 the bastards down until you are satisfied of a successful blurring action can be done by your officers and crew. But my good go-to tactic,, is to have one continuously frag there sails,, another of my ships,, continuously rake their decks,, with grape shot,, and the last one,, the most powerful one,, begins,, my bourding actions ..immediately at the same time,, they won’t know who,, or what to fight,, and they’ll never get the chance,, to get away,,,☠️👻💀☠️

    Using formations is such a big mistake Half of your ships weren't doing much for most of the fight because they were tied to some "arbitrary" formation and they were just sitting there, maybe, at best shooting long range against some of the weaker ships in the beginning. near the end, Amsterdam and the other one in a formation with it were just jolly jolly sailing onto the sea, headed away from the action. 24:00 onwards...most of your fleet was away from the action for example. Just stay away from formations, manage your ships individually so many face broadside to fire at one instead of just sitting in a formation behind one another doing nothing

  • @doktork3406

    @doktork3406

    Also, put carronades on your higher decks since they're not that heavy. Cannons on the lower decks since they can have more weight on them.
