People saying old ships are death traps only say that because the only old ship they know is titanic. The sister ship Olympic was essentially the same thing with a few differences and that ship lasted for 24 years before being scrapped. And it looked a hell of a lot cooler then these new floating blocks Edit: also a lot of the old ships were sailing during times of war the Olympic was struck by a torpedo and didn’t even know. it wasn’t till after the war ended they noticed the damage

@hxgn2069 Wrong, the Titanic was only rated for 2 compartment flooding (no idea where you got 4 from) and the compartments didn't even extend to the roof so water could leak into the next compartment if filled, not to mention it only had 20 lifeboats because safety regulations back then we're far more lax and modern safety procedures and equipment makes surviving a shipwreck in the modern world very likely, all you need to do is compare the tragedy of the Titanic to the absolute cluster of a disaster that was Casta Concordia to see this. The Titanic's crew did everything right after hitting the Ice berg and yet over 1500 people died meanwhile the Crew of Concordia did almost everything wrong, not even allowing passengers to start evacuating until the ship was so heavily listed that they couldn't use half of their lifeboats and yet only 32 people died and it was completely because of human error and had nothing to do with the ships safety features itself (hell even the ships crash was because the captain was trying to show off)

The Lusitania is my favorite ship. It was absolutely beautiful along with others of its time. Ships now just look like big ugly buildings floating on their sides in the ocean. Why can’t we just make ships now look like ships then but with the same modern safety features? Edit: Some of you didn’t read the whole thing. I said with the same modern safety features. That means stern and bow thrusters, radio communications, stable and modern lifeboats, regulated propellers, and of course a welded hull rather than a riveted one. Also since some of you are uneducated. The old ocean liners weren’t dangerous af. They were actually safer in bad weather and seas. Cruise liners now are more prone to damage too.
