I’ve been to Malaysia about 30 times. We go visit my in-laws once a year. Cameron Highlands is where we go each time
Mary Ann's statement of " You don't need a window when you look into my eyes!".. so romantic!! Great Couple! Good that you rested overnight at Kuala Lipis before going to Cameron Highlands! Safety first! Rgds from David, Kampar.
Lovely to see you travel through Malaysia. I keep checking the polo club to see if I see the van parked! I am a Brit working in the school next door a dream to travel in a van. Perhaps one day!

We visited the vanilla farm in Temerloh and saw your sticker on the metal door. We were heading to Kuala Terengganu for a beach wedding. Stayed 3 nights there with perfect cool weather with NO rain for all the 3 days we were there.

You are welcome - it is great to have you !!
Regarding your ATM problem, most local bank don’t accept foreign card at the ATM. Your best bet would be those banks that have international presence. That would be Public Bank, HSBC, Alliance, UOB bank.
Great you guys stayed a night in Kuala Lipis albeit just an overnight stay. Small KL ( Kuala Lipis ) is my hometown and thou I’m in big KL now, I still make trips back to visit my sister and wife’s siblings. Hope you enjoy your trip around Malaysia. Cannot wait to follow your trip back to Britain as that was my plan too, god-willing.
If you guys happen to go up north I recommend you to go Baling, Kedah. You gonna love it I swear!!! (KL - Kuala Kangsar - Gerik - Baling) Stay one night Baling - Gerik - Royal Belum Rainforest - Kelantan/Terengganu! If your are lucky you might see a group of elephant crossing the road along the way 😛😛😛
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. Malaysia has been such a epic place full of spectacular views and friendly people good luck on the rest of your journey around the world.
Brought warmth to my heart seeing you in Kuala Tehan, parking 50m from our guesthouse where we stayed for 4 nights in 2022. You picked the best of the floating restaurants available. Amazing how much more water there is than when we went - see my 'Taman Negara Part 1 - Canopy Walkway - From KL via bus/boat to Kuala Tahan (Trip62.2)' video
Again and again great video guys. I get a little bit emotional watching your beautiful videos. Enjoy your holiday and have a safe trip in Malaysia ❤👍

Same! as my dad's from Malaysia, I started watched when saw touring Malaysia, great vids, so far they've been 2 places we visited on honeymoon looking forward to seeing more, sadly I'm unable to return yet due to health (heat & long flight) 🤞 1 day with at least 1 of my kids.
Theres another canopy walk located on the north malaysia. You can google tree top walk sungai sedim. Wait until you see ipoh perak, and the ipoh to gerik road.
Tread the globe, U2 you make one man in the UK, very happy every Sunday when your videos drop p👍👍👍

Hi Chris, I really enjoy your narration of the trip, very polish and simple to understand. Have a safe journey in Malaysia and beyond. I was driven in a van over europe in the 70s by our lecturer with a group of Malaysian students while we were studying in Brighton. Unfortunately we did not have any action camera then but it surely brings back memory of the trip.

I love the country side driving. Is so different from the city. I'm a Grab driver, I remember taking a couple from Germany from airport to Taman Negara it took me 6 hours drive😅. Is OK we have a good chat all the way. When I drop them off is midnight and my petrol is running out😮. That scared me out😂. When I reach my home in Petaling Jaya is 7am morning 😂. Is a good experience and they are a lovely couple. They gave me a tips as well. God bless them and you both ❤
16:42 That local guy casually said "buaya seekor" which means "one crocodile" or "a crocodile" 😂
Hi, lovely scenery. Great video as always 👍 shame you didn’t get to do the canopy . Trudy all fixed and ready again. Safe travels ❤
Bummer that you did not get to experience the jungle canopy...monsoon raining season really dampened outdoor activities..actually 2 hours from Taman Negara there's an elephant sanctuary at Kuala Gandah, its free to enter. If you want the chances to encounter wild elephants you can take the Gerik-Jeli highway 👌
@jonmath4182
5 ай бұрын
And when he said "chances to encounter wild elephants" he meant "hi guys! Surprise!!! We're crossing the road now! Are you surprised already? You oughtta be! And you better stop your van too! You do not want to hit any one of us, I'll tell you that! You do not want me to get angry! You won't like it when I'm angry!" kind of shock encounter on the road, just like your multiple surprise roadside encounters with the monkeys, except that these are big wild creatures that may get angry if you get too near and can crush steel like cardboards
For those interested in explore rainforest but had limited time in KL, just visit kepong forest park or templer park and kancing waterfalls just a bit further of the batu caves.
I went to Taman Negara Kuala Tahan in 2011 in my fifties with my students and principal.I had a wonderful time camping at the river bank, explored the nature and walked the canopy .It is an adventure of a lifetime.👍

Hi guys.. interesting journey..👍 I'd been to Cameron Highlands recently, It was a perfect weather then between 16°c -18°c.. I reckon it will be definitely suitable for both of you and Trudy..but sometimes it was cloudy and rainy.. 😁 Btw, during monsoon most of Malaysian rivers' colour turned to "Malaysian teh tarik's colour",. literally they're naturally muddy but not polluted and are always clean and clear in some other seasons 😅

Yeahhh you all just passed by my hometown ie Jerantut - gateway to Taman Negara...
11:11 saves the day. wooo hooo
Malaysian sky really blue man.
Thanks again Chris and Mary Ann. Hope you enjoyed Cameroon, it was always a delight to get away from Penang and spend a few days in the lovely, not so sweltering heat where you might a tad of heat rather than A/C. I'm also curious if you felt you could manage the climate full time? I'm thinking of retiring back in Malaysia, and do recall that even when I was young I do recall feeling fatigued by the heat humidity and wondering if it might be a bit much after a few years/
Central Malaysia reminds me a lot of the country side in Panama. Specially during the rainy season. Best time to go to tropical places is indeed the dry season.
