Way to ruin a beautiful peice of woodwork by putting some printed image behind it 😔. If you'd just taken a little time to Bob Ross yourself a sunset (wouldn't even have to be that good!) You'd have yourself the difference between a peice of fine artwork, and a tacky thrift store buy. Even those with untrained eyes pick up on material quality subconsciously. Makes all the difference. If I got this I'd quickly rip off that background clean it up and put something worthwhile behind it. Otherwise beautiful job on the tree!

Duly noted, I am a Scrollsaw artist, not a painter, but I have enrolled in Bob Ross‘s painting class. Hope to get in soon

Beautiful work Sterling. I've got my new DeWalt scroll saw set up now and I've been using a piece of scrap 2 x 4 to hold the arm up. I see I'm not the only one using such a high tech device. :-)

Dave Gatton I have a Dewalt DW788 scrollsaw and I tightened the torx bolt behind the arm on the bottom and it stays up by itself. I'm not sure if that's o.k. though, I never got a manual for it when I got it new in 2012. If you know better, please contact me!

Thank you so much for sharing your great talent of scrollsawing with us! In one of your video's you mentioned that you have all these great ideas, but thought it best to take a step back. The Tree of Life you did hit me like dah, "I should have had a V-8"! I need to step back and enjoy the experience. (I was trying to cut pieces out at 3 degrees and have them stand out. Being left handed, I went the wrong way on some of the pieces, lol. Keep up the great work!

Great project Sterling, this one's a keeper. Bonus points for the Cheerwine on the workbench. I remember free samples passed out from a soda wagon in paper cups, in the late 60s on Main St. in Ellerbe, NC. It had to be good to leave an impression this long. Many years ago and many, many miles away now. Keep the videos coming.

A long time ago a guy showed me a great way to mount my patterns. Use white self adhering shelf paper. Stick that on your wood then use spray adhesive on the back of the pattern. Shelf paper peels off with no residue.
