Everyone loves it bruh. People still regularly play it including myself. The only issue is the lack of fun Easter eggs and side quests. It gets boring too fast but a remake could be one of the best zombie maps ever created.

I play it with my siblings all the time, basically tradition atp lmao

The pure excitement of playing with people and leaving them behind when getting on the bus and watching them chase after it or even vise versa was the whole thrill of this map. The fog was forbidden and felt mysterious to explore and it felt awesome playing this as a teenager

Well... allow me to introduce you to Custom Zombies. We have had 100s of amazing (Sometimes even better than the originals) maps on the Steam Workshop for Black Ops 3. AND, a guy called Verk0, is remaking Tranzit. No one knows when it's coming out. But hooo boi.

From what I've heard Tranzit was originally entirely open at the start of development, and the lava, fog, and Denizens were added midway through development after realizing that the 360 and PS3 just couldn't handle loading assets that quickly. This meant they had to slow the player down somehow so the game could get everything loaded.

I honestly thought tranzit was pretty fun, The stress of needing to use the bus to get around was honestly kind of refreshing to the usual just run around in circles to kill zombies for a few hours, If you got left behind you better hope you're good enough to survive till it comes back around, I do find it funny though that I've either completely forgotten about the power being a thing or in the numerous hours playing I just never used it, It ain't the best map but it is still pretty good.

Seeing Shadows Of Evil get a free pass for all its tedious busywork but watching people roast Tranzit actually makes me sad. At least I had fun with Tranzit in spite of its issues because it was such a different take on the formula, and it's more exciting. SOE is just kind of a chore, but all these KZreadrs keep saying it's the best Zombies map ever. lol. Der Eisendrache, Gorod Krovi, and Revelations in BO3 alone are all way more fun, and fun is king.

At some point you get so good at tranzit you dont need the bus. I would teleport all over the place with the portal power. Power was the first thing I went for. Still play the map to this day and I'm surprised others do to, at least on pc.

Tranzit was Amazing. One time I was standing on top of the bus and got thrown off of it right into the mist, then with a complete disregard for personal safety my friend jumped after me to save me. Only to die tragically to the jumpers. lol It just got so much better when we finally found the cabin with the bowie knife. After that upgrade there was no need to fear the mist anymore.

@@idakevI honestly don’t think transit had any issues the lava was there as a hazard because it would feel tedious just to walk or train zombies from point a to point b without having somethin to do like town would be soooo boring and those enemy’s aren’t there to prevent wandering there there to prevent u from reaching the wonder weapon the bus made it exciting with all these parts lying around u have to be quick and fast to optimize when u can jump off and jump back on and the lightning enemy gave players a 3rd thing to worry about top 5 best easily

@@idakev Yes, because your definition of fun is objective? the main complaint with tranzit was that holding w and dying to weird mechanics like lava aren't fun. Going around the map in each section to fight inside a mini-arena is much more fun and it feels earned when you've beaten it all. Tranzit never stops being unfun and boring.

Okay so bowie knife one shots denizens, emp one shots avagadro, and this dude must not know about the teleportation mechanic in this map either. Makes the map much more bearable and is worth mentioning.

Bowie knife 3 knifes denizens,and two hits if you turned around and hit them just to have to hit them again. The galvaknuckles actually one hit denizens if you turn and hit them before they latch. The teleport feature was not liable. You could get dropped in the worst spots in the open or by lava pits. Emps aren't guaranteed either. Most smart people didn't even touch the box. They just trained by a wall weapon, like training at diner to get mp5 ammo, or training in the tunnel by the M16. You had to have a lot of uncommon knowledge to get alot out of this map. I only played tranzit to train high rounds in the tunnel with the M16 and deposit points in the bank. The bank was the only useful thing about tranzit. Gave you a good start in die rise and buried. Galvaknuckles are better, but a pain to get . You never know if the roof latch part spawned outside your start room, or if it will spawn in the shed at diner that requires a turbine to open, which you wouldn't keep because everyone used the riot shield instead to protect there backs from zombies.

Fun fact: The guy who was in charge of transit was fired by the time BO2 released their first DLC. They guy who replaced him oversaw the development of Buried, Nuketown Zombies, Mob of the Dead, and Origins. All maps that are loved by the cod zombies community. The first guy oversaw the devoplment of Tia Rise, Transit, and Nuketown Zombies as well. (Nuketown was the transition point of the game).

Actually Jimmy Zielinski was in charge of Buried (which is cool knowing he ended on a good map)… He was let go before the release of buried but he still completed it

Jimmy Zielinski was in charge of Nuketown, Die Rise, and Buried actually, pretty much all the BO2 maps that have to do with the original story. He also made pretty much all the WaW and BO1 maps.

Pro tip there is also a fourth method of getting rid of the denizens. This is the buy the Bowie knife in the cabin and right before a denizen gets up to your head you legit turn around and knife them once and they die.

Really everything from COD4 thru BO2 is classic Call of Duty imo, after that I started losing interest in the series with all the different universes and game play mechanics. I did really enjoy MW2019 for a while but eventually Warzone became the dev priority and multi-player really suffered.

MW3 was the worst of the trilogy though. Felt a bit soulless compared to the others, and had the weakest maps. A decent game but the weakest of the COD4-BO2 era, and the one that made people talk about being burned out by the formula. BO2, on the other hand, still felt pretty fresh.

Honestly transit was my favorite map as a kid, it gave me the feeling like I was discovering things and it had so many little secrets that no other zombies map had really had at the time, although the jetgun was a huge letdown I'm not gonna lie.

TranZit is my favorite Zombie map of all time. Instead of just looping and pack a punching things, you have so many extra challenges and objectives to do. The things you call annoying are a cool additional challenge to me. Infinite replayability with spice

We're polar opposites. I understand everything you said in this video about this map, yet i miss the days when i was a 15 yr old playing this map and trying to go through every single challenge it presented. Even making the wonder weapon was fun! That to me was the most fun, fulfilling, satisfying, and joysome experience i have ever had in the entire cod zombies history back when i started from kino till it ended with bo4. I won't forget those days.

Dude I don’t think transit is that bad, don’t think it’s the best, but I think it’s just one of those situations where collectively the loudest people get their opinion heard and others who don’t have a strong opinion like to jump on the bandwagon for the fun feeling of being apart of the mob that tears something apart.. it was a large leap forward and an idea that was widely limited by the fact that the Xbox 360 didn’t have the engine power to support the vision, they should’ve waited for the Xbox one (which is why the denizens and fog exist because otherwise the player would be too fast at moving around the map and the player would be approaching territory that hasn’t yet loaded in)… transit was supposed to have all sorts of mini games and things including in it.. doesn’t deserve the level of hate it gets in my opinion, wish a few of the mini maps were changed out but overall an interesting idea, and a step outside the box in a way we don’t see nowadays with all these endless remakes

I used to play BO2 zombies for almost 3 years. Today I watched 2 videos that have me convinced that people actually hate transit. Me and my friends were always under the impression it was a fan favorite

I think people just appreciated how unique and different the map was in hindsight but it is still frustrating to play. Too much lava pits, the bus leaves whenever it wants, no areas to really train or hold up, and of course the fog/distance between each tiny settlement. I feel if the map was remade from the ground up with modern graphics and new engine but kept those good aspects, then it would be an amazing map

The Giant and Der Eisendrache had to save BO3 Zombies because most players disliked SOE and thought it was a chore, but KZreadrs keep claiming it's the best zombies map of all time, and if you don't agree, well, you're just not hardcore enough to appreciate its brilliance. lol. If people did the same thing to them ("You're just not hardcore enough to appreciate the S-tier map, Tranzit") and gaslight them into liking Tranzit, it would be well deserved, ngl.

i think the only things i could do without to really want to go back and play it often are the way lava makes zombies explode and do AOE damage, and the denizens. rest of it, i have always really enjoyed i would like to have seen what tranzit could be by todays standards with everything all done full open world as they intended it originally to be, but without the "open world" aspect of it being like cold war's outbreak. i did not much care for outbreak once the novelty wore off after 2 matches.

you know you're not watching a real og zombies youtuber when they say the one of the most broken wonder weapons in the game "the Paralyzer" is a bad wonder weapon. for shame

Tranzit is a map that was bad at launch because it was not an ideal "launch" map but definitely laid the ground work for maps like Mob Of The Dead, Buried and Origins for big easter eggs with steps as part of the map. Had Tranzit didn't have the denezins, so much lava (it should still be there, the Earth is destroyed), the jet gun being really limited, the bus not being controlled by the player, it might have been a better received map.

Tranzit was so fun when it first came out. Hearing the bus you were waiting for honk its horn as you're just trying to survive. Or trying to walk through the fog and getting those things crawling at you.

Everyone knows it sucks, but the memories with old friends we will cherish forever.

It's prolly worth fact checking me on this, but I heard the fog and denizens were added in specifically to slow the player down since Tranzit was too big of a map for the current gen consoles to handle. I heard that you can actually crash the game by moving too fast through Tranzit in Theater mode, bit I'm not in a position to try it myself.

You can store weapons in the fridge in the farm. Also there is a perk in the barn I just can't remember which and the mystery box can move to the balcony.

I remember i was QA for Treyarch for a bit at the Santa Monica offices and i was one of their testers for the zombies Tranzit when Bo2 was late in development. Everyone at the office was amazing, and the fellow testers were breaking the game as much as we could. One thing we did mention was that the map felt a little Too large. Those were the days though. 😂 that said, i enjoy what the map is, i dislike the chore work to unlock the easter eggs.

I agree with every point you made. I played endless hours of Town survival leaving the bank closed and figure 8 training. I also found Transit boring and it instantly turned me off because of how over the top difficult it was made to navigate or do anything.

That figure 8 strat isn't even the best strat for town, if you dislike tranzit for the time it takes to get setup then you have to also dislike the other maps because they all take a long time (except for buried and die rise)

I love town and I'm glad you mentioned it in this vid, that map is literally my entire childhood on bo2 including Origins

I will say that I do kinda like the post apocalyptic themes of Tranzit, Die Rise and Buried. Seeing what Richthofen’s Grand Scheme has done to the planet Earth is quite a scary sight with the lava, fog, meteor showers and zombies everywhere. Just imagine trying to survive in such a hostile environment.

Tranzit was one of the worst maps period. The fog, denazins, lava, farm, jet gun and not being able to call the bus like u would have been able to call the lunar landers on Ascension, the only few things I liked at the time was the buildables were unique and the bus was a love and hate type of thing cuz I have mad memories of closing the doors on friends n then getting pissed getting left behind but yeah it just took too long to set yourself up just tryna get good weapons and pack a punch but they kinda made up for it with the whole bank system so I liked that aspect of it, the Easter egg kinda sucked and the ability to teleport using the light posts was kinda of a pain since it would teleport u to a random location.

I thought this was going to be just a meme video about tranzit, but it turned out to be a Great meme video about tranzit! fr tho video was informative and great to watch, keep it up :)

I love tranzit. The map was amazing it includes a lot of mysteries and very cool guns/perks.

I to this day don’t understand why they didn’t just buff the jet gun. They constantly rebalanced multiplayer and patches glitches in both multiplayer and zombies. They even nerfed the Sliquifier at one point. They clearly had the power to tweak the stats of a certain wonderweapon. I don’t know why they didn’t just buff the jet gun

I actually loved Tranzit😅 its easily in my top 5 Zombie maps, with friends just doing shit on that map is pretty funny

Best way to play tranzit is to say f the bus. Galvanuckles and you can run around the whole map until lvl 25 or so. At that point you should be set up with all the necessary gear, plus the bank and fridge make that whole process a lot easier.

Mfs hate on TranZit like a job. It’s one of a kind and people can’t stand it. Enforces ammo conservation, makes both the bank and map progression simple but time consuming, and destroys any sense of linearity. It feels like an actual apocalyptic journey with no easy way into the high rounds. People seem to want a grindy map with a huge payoff like Origins

@@notoriousr.i.c8782 I disagree. The map is easy to progress in minus the wonder weapon and pack a punch. Day 1 people had the bus route down and could pull a game out with no issue. People get caught up trying to run around the map without jugg or a proper knife and cry about it when it doesnt work out

Tranzit gets more hate than it deserves, when I first really got into playing zombies the map I was learning on was Tranzit. I had played Kino in the past but I wasn't really playing zombies then. Tranzit gets hate for 3 reasons, fog/denizens, Jet gun, and the Lava. The Fog/Denizens I understand because it does slow down travel with either the bus or on foot. The Jet Gun could have been one of the best wonder weapons had it not been able to break, I mostly ignored the Jet Gun because even though it has infinite damage its just too much of a nuisance to build. The lava I personally love because it forces players to be aware of where they are running/walking. I personally love Tranzit, is it heavily flawed yes, but when I play it I always have fun. I love running cross map trains the fog or denizens never stopped me.

Tranzit was a great idea but setting up and just alot of other stuff is annoying. Having to go all around the map to get ur perks. Worrying about lava and denizens. Worrying about the bus, sooo much craftables its insane. The teleporting is what saves it all but the problem is most of the time U go somewhere you dont want to go. Pack a punch is so annoying to do. Dont forget if you go down your having to go all around the map again to get ur perks back. Edit: forgot to mention the jetgun.

I feel like the Easter egg was never really finished. It never did anything. That still bothers me to this day

Actually knifing faster by holding an equipment was found by everyday glitchers back in 2012 and not by speedrunners. The more you know, nice video tho, maybe more reviews of other maps nxt? 👍

i LOVED Tranzit

Transit disappointed me because I was expecting we would have a vast area to run from the zombies. If it didn’t have the lava and the denizens, I think it would’ve been better. Then again, I pretty much trained with the M16 in that tunnel until the 20’s. It was fun going making my stand there.

Paralyzer is a great wonder weapon it's really good for high rounds getting you away from zombies and can get you to other areas faster and better

Transit dissuaded me from playing CoD zombies in BOII and after. Simple is best.

this was a great map....such a big map was great fun for 4 players. there was something fun about making it onto the bus before it left.

Got to round 62 on Town recently, and to add on what you said, it feels peaceful to high round there. You can EMP the zombies into the bar and unless you wake them up, they will stay there, so you can hit the mystery box without worries. Slowly walking around the map to get to the box, the ominous music that increases the emptiness, slowly killing the zombies because the damage of the Ray Guns is trash on high rounds, idk man Town just hits differently. Simplicity at its best.

Jet Gun changes to make it fun: Once finished building, it will spawn in the mystery box. Cut down recharge time. Once at its limit, it does not break to be rebuilt (if it needs to break or can’t have it in the box, then simply have it respawn on the bench)

Fun fact:tranzit was too big for the pas3 to load the textures,so Activision ,a bit later had to add the fog to "slow down" the game

Tranzit was super fun with friends.

@@thanatosvorigan4986 it felt like it took more teamwork than other maps though. other maps in multiplayer everyone separates and takes a training spot, but in tranzit sticking together feels a lot better and more fun.

@@JardTheRat No, coop in Tranzit is no different from any other map other than the fact it's a huge map which actually hurts your point. As it's much more likely you'll be separated because of the shitty bus driver that decides to leave whenever he feels like it.

​@@danielwilson2185 the only bad things about tranzit I think of is how you need to leave a turbine at power for the pap, which could be broken and the jet gun. All these other things are just complaints about the map not being run of the mill train and camp fests.

My uncle was playing this game with friends and I always used to watch it even tho I was young he always say "but you gonna be scared and have nightmares" and I got nightmares but it's was totally worth it I miss those days now

I would always just run back and forth between the building with jug and the bar on town survival. I would sit in the second floor hole in the wall, shoot until I got overwhelmed, and then bail out and run to the other building.

I've never understood people who like tranzit people are entitled to their opinions but those opinions have to form some way. My personal theories include nostalgia, not being able to afford dlc, or not playing the other games for one reason or another. I've also never understood the what could've been argument like yeah that would be cool but they didn't do it and now I'm more disappointed. Rant brought to you buy someone who had to play a lot of tranzit because his friends didn't have the dlc.

I would still rather play Tranzit than any map after Bo3

Worst zombie map ever

I actually appreciated that they tried something new for the formula. The big issue with transit is all the denizens, running around, and the slow ass bus, along with the underpowered gun that's a pain in the ass to get. If they addressed all of that, and expanded on the size of the map amd improved the features further, it would do a lot for the variety of Zombies

transit isn’t bad, i think it’s a cool idea but since this kind of map was on an old gen system they had to add stupid stuff like the ridiculous amount of lava, fog, etc. just to slow you down. i think if they remastered it and got rid of that stuff, the “wonder weapon”, no farm, new easter egg, and a different plan of how transportation would work i think it could be good

The moment you enter the mist and hear the screeching sounds then turn around immediately and as they jump you let loose, but again, only use one weapon, save anothers ammo

I usually get the Bowie knife and use that to 1-shot denizens. The Knuckles do the same, but they're more expensive.

Climbing up onto the Diner roof and grabbing the electric shock knuckle dusters fighting off zombies until the bus came back round!.. Loved it!! Also, playing it in Red/Cyan 3D option with the old school glasses 👌

Honestly all tranzit needs is a single wall buy on town and the pap method to get changed

I know the buildables/fog was complete ass. I will say that riding around with the homies fighting zombies off the bus thanksgiving break in 2012 was the most fun zombie experience in my memory.

My boggiest probelm with tranzit as I’m making this comment is the bus just leaves too soon mainly when I’m at the power station. Yes I tried to go through the fog on foot but when I did I died to a zombie and lava combo. Any tips? (Im a console player and i am not used to the controls yet)

The whole fetch quest buildable gameplay was an easter egg how I memorized caring about it all during its peak.

I think for bo2 remarsted they should keep tranzit, however they should make the bus more controlable, great better tasks,. good wonder weapon, and they should make it to where you need to complete challenging step to get a "time mchine". My idea with the time machine is that once you activate it it returs the tranzit made to its pre apocalypse state that 1960 era, they should also be a cool easter egg to come with it. I think that will be cool.

With the denezens if you get the galva knuckles you can easily turn around and if you time it correctly you can hit em mid air with only one punch

I believe there was some article or theory or something saying the fog and denizens on tranzit were added to allow the 360 and ps3 to have time to load the different sections of the map

jumping inside and at the roof of the bus makes him wait lesser on stops also, same thing with die rise elevators

I don't know why anyone ever liked this map, I only ever got a-holes that would bodyblock me and make sure I could never get on the bus. I could not play the game, and it was entirely by the dev's design.

Town also had the all the perks glitch In coop where you buy 4 of the perks one being the tombstone one and then collect enough points to afford the rest then you let yourself get cornered by the zombies Then when you revive you got to buy the last perks and collect your tombstone and boom 7 perks baby

I used to play this map like staying at one place for a long period of time like one part under a bridge with a tunnel where you find the M16 rifle, i used to shoot them, the zombies, up by the dozens and mostly avoided the bus or rather i would miss it on occasions when i tried getting on it, then i would stock up to go into the mist again and yeah, the M16 was the primary weapon ì shot the denizens with, it's 3 round burst was sufficient enough for one pull

There's also the fact you need to protect a turbine near the end of a round at power to actually access the room with pack-a-punch in it, the map might be tedious but it's pretty nostalgic for me :)

Idk if I'm stupid but I think if you open and close the doors on the bus then the driver eventually starts getting ready to leave

I've always seen the bones of a really cool and unique game of challenge and critical thinking in transit, its a good ides for a game just not a zombies map Having to work with a vehicle is a really neat idea and if a game is centered around the idea it has the potential But with cods gameplay it just becomes an annoyance

ngl, town was literally the only map I ever played on BO2 (since the game dropped) and literally had no idea that you could get the ray gun mark 2

I could imagine them reworking the Coldwar nachanics to make it work. Just make it so the door in town that holds the galva knuckles has a ray gun, then nobody hates it.

I remember playing tranzit is was my childhood but now I just find it mid the fog makes me hard to see for the jet gun parts

Me and my brother loved transit because it was the only map we had. We didn't have money to buy the dlc's so we were stuck playing this map for eternity. 10 years later, after playing all of the dlc's in black ops 2. Transit is still our favorite map.

Ì did that with the denizens, shoot them from behind as they jump mid air onto you, and as for the ammo, have another weapon nearby with sufficient ones, and only use òne weapon, but get out of the mist as quick as possible

If they remade tranzit with collect all parts then build-type buildables, more guns and perks, an easter egg, and other additions it could be really fun.

Honestly this map is fun to mess around on, the only thing I hate is the turbine for pack a punch shit. Just make it open when the power is on, then this map is perfect for friend trolling

It was the summmer of 2015 approaching the winter and new year of 2016, I was poor just moved had my Xbox 360 and all I did was play town. I used to feel like a loser bc everyone else was waiting for bo3 and Xbox one so seeing someone else appreciate “Town” made me feel like I wasn’t so different

They could have had panzer aswell...that would have been cool to find lurking around

You didn't mention the Knuckles which I wish was included on other maps, my favourite weapon on this map

the only annoying issue on the survival town is the location of the pap machine,THE LAVA I JUST WANT TO REMOVE THE LAVA OUT OF THIS ENTIRE MAP

The jet gun would be quite good if you could get it from the box and it could cool down while not holding it

I definitely don't think fondly on the map itself but my friends and I still managed to have a lot of fun on it at launch
