Woah, woah, woah...Are you telling me Ghosts, giants, dragons, wizards, infinite timelines, 1000-foot-tall robots, galactic demon tentacle eye monsters, magically enchanted weapons such as elemental bows, staves and swords, all taking place throughout some infinite repeating millennia-expanded battle between alien gods of the universe...Isn't as good? Seriously though, I absolutely hate modern zombies for their story, compared to a mysterious meteorite of a new substance being harvested by the Nazis to make super weapons based off of real designs and attempts, while having fun but believable supernatural things like time travel and that leading to Samantha controlling the zombies with cool subtle clues, all leading you down a story of a genuinely creepy and intriguing story, is so god damn much better than the modern storyline that makes Marvel feel more believable. I don't even know much about modern zombies so I know there's waaaay more than the ridiculous stuff I mentioned, on top of the gameplay changes that I dislike, like the Gobblegums, classes, abilities and even some weapons. I gave up on all of it after Black Ops 1.

@@DetectiveJones black ops 1 is actually a pretty good spot to end. Especially since black ops 2 onwards the entire point is all the characters are undoing and erasing the timeline of what happened before.

The clock in the projector room isn't actually stuck at 115, it's simply a timer used to show how much longer you have in the teleporter room (30 second timer).

(the replies are actually not that bad here lol) hearing the full recordings puts it all into perspective. Some channels only play "important bits" and it can make Edward seem insane from the get go. But with this, it really puts into contrast how he was being treat by Maxis. He went mad slowly and finally snapped. Awesome, channel man. Subscribing.

Richtofen grew resentful of Maxis (which is understandable) but it was not until he tested the teleporter on himself and came in contact with MPD - the pyramid on the moon - that he started hearing voices. Not sure if that was the best way to go about his character though.

There’s actually one Easter egg you forgot. At the spawn and you go over to that little grate/vent on the ground directly to your left from walking down the little stairs from the PaP, there’s a little note down there with odd symbols on it, and if you hold the interaction button your character will make like some grunting sounds. Edit: there’s actually one more. From the spawn if you go the direction where you head into that furnace room, where you throw the monkey to burn, but right as you head into that area from the spawn, on the ground there’s a small little brick. If you go prone and hold the interaction button it will reveal a secret note describing the effects of 115.

The cutscene from bo3 is good for adding extra details to this story, like what happened immediately after Edward locked maxis in, and also shows the clock freezing 1:15 (element 115)

Don’t forget that you can find Porters hanging body in a room across from the mystery box that has the cage around it near the teleporter with the Type 100!

In terms of atmosphere, Ascension takes the cake for me. I'm a huge fan of the Cold War dark experiment aesthetic, where behind the scenes dark and horrible shit is going down. Ascension does this perfectly well, taking place in a Soviet cosmodrome. the cosmodrome adds to this, since the Soviet space program was a closely guarded state secret, and in the campaign also shows it being classified. Five also accomplishes this cold war horror aesthetic, but I think Ascension knocked it out of the park

This is why I loved WaW and Bo1 zombies so much, the whole cold war secret experiments gone wrong is so cool to me , bo2 zombies kinda extarted to lean to the more space fantasy but i still loved it , bo3 it's full on mythological creatures that it's a no-no for me

Ascension was brilliant for sure. I think Moon deserves mention for being a great finale for the classic zombies aesthetic. Its hard to top using Area 51 as a gateway to an abandoned Nazi Moon base.

It’s actually kinda cool that you get to hear the last audio log play out in the intro cutscene on The Giant in BO3, and knowing that when Richtofen finishes laughing he gets apprehended by the Primis crew. Small details even 15 years later added on, you know?

He gets apprehended by the Primis crew only in that timeline, otherwise afterwards he would go to Shi No Numa with the rest of his test subjects (Nikolai, Takeo, Tank).

This is my favorite zombies map ever. Not the remakes, or new maps inspired by it, specifically this version of Der Riese. Kino Der Toten didn’t even come close imo.

@@king_dc0247 BO3 has different very spawn mechanics, zombies hoarding mechanics, gobblegums, AATs, Double Tap 2.0, a hidden Perk Machine and Double Tap 2.0 and the hell hounds have an insane headshot multiplier which makes the a joke. It also has this strong blue and orange colour scheme that permeate the entire map. There is also snow. The BO1 version all the improvements of BO1 - including the fixed / patched DG-2 - but with BO1 box weapons and mule kick. I would say that this is the best version of Der Riese, but some people miss the WaW guns.

100% agree. Kino is overrated asf. Great map but not the best at all.

The one thing that I really like about this map specifically on World at War is it's very unforgiving and you have to be skillful if you want to have a high round attempt.

Yep... Especially since WaW zombies are notoriously "sticky". BO1 Der Riese is easy mode compared to this. And the Giant? That was the first map I got 50+ on at 13 years old. My first 30+ was on Origins at age 11. I was so proud of that...

Mann, j remember when the lore of this game blew up and people were really curious about it, i really do miss the old days of zombies.

Der Reise remains my all time favorite map by play time over three separate games. None of the others even come close. IMO it was probably the last map to have: 1. A strong war horror aesthetic. 2. Storyline points that aren't at the forefront of the map's theme. 3. Easter eggs and fetch quests just for the sake of them. 4. No ending. Just play until you die. From Black Ops onward, maps maybe had one or two of these things but failed at the others. They dropped the horror aesthetic for most maps, brought it back for MOTD, then dropped it again, maps started being made just to push the story forward, Origins was novel for having an actual ending but it soon became overused on every map after, and fetch quests became mandatory to finish levels instead of just playing for as long as you could survive. Not to say I *hate* levels without these things, there's something to like about every zombies map of course. But Der Reise always has a spot in my heart, and no matter how much I play the later games I can never forget the one map that turned me from just being a CoD fan to being a CoD *Zombies* fan.

I agree that The travel is a good map

The 1:15 clock represents how the entire map is stuck in a time loop, every few seconds the time goes back. You can never truly end the game. Also that explains why the eclipse over the map never ends.

Thank you kind sir for this video. So many memories. We grew up playing and having fun on these. Different times, good times ,simpler times. Games changed so much nowadays they don't feel fun. They are missing something the old games had. From a 15 year old kid to a 29 year old man. Time passes so freaking fast.

@@britishgamer666 Definitely do you’ll be surprised by the consistency factors of coming across power ups MUCH more often compared to normal playthroughs ^_^ Try to throw two grenades into the portal in the starting room as soon as you can per start of each round If too many zombies spawn before you’re able to that Round; it typically wont make power ups more prevalent to pop up upon a zombie kill. I’d say the max average one can wait is up to 59 seconds after the Round starts and before 10 zombies spawn since the new Round begins. You also HAVE to make sure the grenade lands and explodes inside the teleporter pad; and still works when you turn on the Electricity and link the Teleporter Pads together in later Rounds Also; if you are playing Co-op; the more people that throw at least one grenade each, into the Teleporter Pad.. Makes it more likely you’ll get more than just one random power up per round ✨

the presentation of information in his video is insane with the edits, i know this took you a long time to make. PPL RUN THE LIKES UP!!! this is not easy to do !👏

There is also a body hanging from the ceiling if you look behind maxis’ office from the double tap catwalk. I’m assuming it’s more then likely supposed to be porters body since he hung himself in the recording.

Your accurate pronunciation of German words is very refreshing. Rarely does any KZreadr put in such effort. Bravo.

The bowie knife is amazing. Getting that early and using it to farm points will get you set up way quicker.

I consider this my favorite map of all time mainly because the weapons were at an all time great and they looked the coolest and sound the best and haven’t been made better. The lore behind this map and the song is my favorite out of all of them.

You say Bowie knife is expensive, yet I can get it before round 5 even in a 4 player lobby and knife every zombie until it's 2 hit and by then, I have enough for all 4 perks.

late to this but another fact is you can see the hanging body (legs) of porter in the map in a window. it is on the catwalk where the box spawns near the teleporter by the vats and lit furnace where you throw the monkeys in :)

You can actually see a hanging persons legs in the giant BO3 when you go to the teleporter room with the HVK wall gun you need to go to the mistery box in that room face the mistery box and then look to the right, you can can see a person hanging I don’t know if it’s the guy hanging himself on 9:50 but it’s a person hanging. You can shoot the hanging guys legs then he’ll spin. I hope you see this

there is a hidden brick on the ground aprx 12 feet in front of mule kick, go prone and hold interaction button, brick will sink and reveal a secret note, also if you go prone infront of any perk machine you get 25 points which is the only way to earn a points value of 5

The fact you have to do shit that takes time to get the pap which for me with 4 people takes till like round 10 to 12 on der riese makes it more fun. On kino you just get pap as soon as you turn the power on which makes it easy. Not to say it's bad it just makes kino more casual than hard

just wanna say, the first log talks about 115 in Nevada which in Black Ops 2 is where the zombie nuketown map is located. As a result, it could mean that the "nuclear" blast was from either making a wonder weapon, an attempt ot destroy the 115, or the result of having to much 115 in an area. This also explains why there are zombies.

In Nuketown Zombies loading screen the scientist must've experimented on excessive Element 115 and caused the nuclear blast we see on the map

Ok here's the clock explained,so as you see,der Riese is during an eclipse,which occurred due to some science experiments gone wrong,they're basically stuck in time because it keeps on going back,we get this from Shangri-la,where Brock and Gary were stuck in time after messing around with stuff and activating an eclipse

I was never the same when i found out the monkey bomb was wearing stripped pajamas and why it cries in the furnace.-.

What background music is that? It's fire.
