I disagree. it's the best part. these movies might not be good or even decent movies, yet I find them to be great entertainment. Great visuals, great sound design, great music. they might not make any sense, yet they are great to just zone out, turn off your brain and enjoy some brain dead fun.

I think the worst part about Sam's character, throughout all three movies, is that he only refers to Bumblebee as "his car" not his best friend, not even buddy. Sam is a horrible person who never grew.

I heard it was due to the 2008 writers' strike. they anticipated it by getting the writers to make an outline before they went on strike, but it still made us end up with... this. also that same strike likely caused the amount of reality TV we have now...

@@TokuWaffle well reality TV was very much a thing before the strike. Although it was mostly in the form of dating shows. I was such a dating show junkie and there were so many, it was wild. Survivor and Big Brother were very much already established and many reality show competition shows follow their format. I even think the family type shows were popular with The Osbornes and such. Even before all that, there was The Real World on MTV. Ok, that was kinda a rabbit hole I went down and I didn't mean to and all I really wanted to say was that yes, some more reality shows probably came out of the strike but more so the strike was responsible for killing lots of shows, most notably (for me), Heroes. That was... unfortunate.

I thought this movie just had a bunch of action scenes with some dialogue in between that kind of explained what was going on.

My favorite part of this entire video is at 17:55 when Marcus off-handedly jokes "We can´t read, ´cause we´re racist caricatures of black people" and then the goddamn "movie" literally makes that the next line. Cut to defeated Marcus. "... I was joking" Perfection.

Much like the _Resident Evil 5_ song, "Sad But True" basically sums it up. They're both terrible live-action movie series that basically desecrate their source material, but at least the _RE_ series seemed to *try* to care about various characters it took from the games up until the sixth & final movie. It even screwed over fewer of them (until the sixth & final movie) and gave some of them protagonist focus despite its original main character being an unbeatable Mary Sue after the first movie. The _RE_ live-action movies also didn't reveal their director's creepy and otherwise demeaning thoughts, just proved that Anderson loves his wife while beating us over the head with that fact as she killed everything on-screen. I still feel like I could watch any of the _RE_ movies except for the third or sixth & final one in the background and at least laugh at the dumb bits while occasionally glimpsing something that could have had potential if Alice wasn't so fucking overpowered. Meanwhile, seeing any one of the Bayformers movies even once just seems like asking to suffer, and I am never going to watch the Mark Wahlberg ones unless something literally paid me a lot of money.

I actually like the idea behind Alice - she's a Decepticon whose alt mode is an animatronic, so she can pass for human. That could work in theory, but of course this is a Transformers movie so she's weirdly sexualised and her alt mode is inconsistent. Fun fact: In the comic book adaptation of this movie, it's explained that the female seductress decepticon gets her form from an animatronic Alice from an Alice in Wonderland attraction, which was apparently realistic enough to scan and then change the clothes of to pass as a human being.

@@j.r.1704 Okay like non-comedic tone here just for information: there’s a whole Transformers comic license yes (Marvel had it, then a smaller indie company called dream wave, now it’s run by IDW) Just like there’s comics for Power Rangers, Sonic, TMNT (which started out as a comic), GI Joes,… They have their own continuity (which got a reboot recently) and are quite obviously a lot, LOT better than this shit. (Mainly because humans don’t factor in nearly as much, if at all in the later years where it’s basically just Transformers space stories) But yes, the movies also got tie-in comics mandated from IDW, so there’s comics meant to fill in the narrative gaps of the films. The films are basically Swiss cheese so there’s a LOT of margin to expand lore and fill in the gaps.. hell the comics have more character development and interesting lore than the movies ever could. Even the adaptations of damn movie (like the 1 to 1 retelling) is better than the movie and removes all the horny / cringe jokes and military fetish. (They’re still there but it ain’t propaganda anymore) Of course these comics get massively retconned every time Michael Bay decides to make another fuckin movie completely shitting on the continuity and leaving a team of (not joking here) 7 actually capable story tellers/authors trying to actually give all the continuity meaning and cohesion. While I got your attention and if you read this far, I genuinely recommend the IDW comics from a few years back. There was a series called More Than Meets the Eye. It’s a space adventure series featuring a bunch of Transformers after the war, going on a space quest. It’s fun, has a lot of suspenseful moments, an awesome horror-thriller edge to a few moments, amazing and actually endearing characters and character moments. It’s literally the furthest thing from the Bay movies. I just hate that Bay has devolved this franchise into such a dumb thing in the eyes of many when it actually has a lot of potential and some really genuinely good pieces of sci fi media out there.

In his ramblings while at the chalkboard, Sam actually foreshadows the next film by straight up name dropping "the sentinel prime expedition" a character we will find in the next film aboard "the arc" on the moon so thats kinda cool

This movie's script doesn't actually exist. All Bay was given was a set of events they wanted to happen and they dropped exposition to make them connect in some way. and it shows, lmao

Okay, I have to tell you that I legitimately enjoyed the first transformers when I saw it in the theater. But this movie broke me and remains quite possibly my least favorite movie ever. It made me legitimately furious to see stores selling toys to children that promoted this offensive, unfunny horror show of a movie.

There is such a stark contrast between Sam and Bumblebee's relationship and Charlie and Bumblebee's relationship in the MUCH better Bumblebee solo movie. Sam treats Bumblebee like an object or a pet, and Charlie treats him like an equal. What I'm saying is the Bumblebee movie has the heart that the Bay movies just....don't. Also, Nicky is just chilling on Marcus' lap; it's great. We love a good Nicky cameo.

Love coming back to this video, never seen Marcus suffer so much before. It's hilarious watching his mind comprehend how such a bad movie could be made.

My only problem with the Dinobots is that they weren’t used very well after Age of Extinction. Other than that, they looked badass. Michael Bay’s Grimlock is one of my favorite versions, in design. Number one will always be Fall of Cybertron’s Grimlock for me.

You can really tell Micheal Bay just googled “Transformers” and was like ok cool robots cars and I’ll just add whatever I want to make it work😭 like I feel this movie is the most unhinged and most further away from actual Transformer lore

The 3rd one is actually the best one. 4 and five is where they really fall off

I always love seeing people react to this brutal version of Optimus.

I remember watching this movie with my mom and by half way through we both just couldn't hide our disgust for the brother bots.

I never understood why the cube shard made natural Decepticons when being a Decepticon is a choice made by the robots in cannon. It would have made more sense to make robots that had no allegiance rather than randomly psychotic throwaways.

I have decided that these transformers picture shows are my comfort videos. I’ve watched all of these everyday for the past week and a half.

Lot of misinformation in the comments about the writing so I’ll just clarify for people unaware, a basic plot (pretty much just a synopsis) was written before the 2008 writers strike, Michael bay began filming before the writers could return to finish the script, meaning some scenes in the movie are just complete gibberish because there was literally nothing written

This movie affected me forever. I never get excited about a movie because I do not wanta give my hopes up. I saw this in theaters with my brother and we hated it. This movie killed any love for a future Transformers movie and all other major franchises (like Star Wars) because of how soul-crushing this movie is. I still hold Transformers in a special place in my heart.

Back when this movie first came out, TV retail stores literally demonstrate the new TVs capabilities by playing Prime's death clip on them. That fight had countless pixels moving around and there were so many colours contrasting each other.

Sadly the "why are we in egypt!?" "SHUT UP!" interaction is like the funniest part of the movie, and happened right after the camera cut. Also the next one is at least better than this one
