@@covalentbond7933 it’s not really chance at all. It’s completely knowing oneself. Many people are in denial about their own neediness. Cover every angle as to why you want another person in your life…what needs are you wanting them to provide? Then go deeper. Your subconscious is operating in opposition to the conscious, most of the time. Until one becomes aware of their subconscious programming, conditioning, and core wounds, they are at the whim of the direction of the subconscious. The conscious mind can’t out-will the subconscious. Believing that it’s all chance…is a learned helplessness narrative. If you’re truly connected to self, aware, empowered, you’d never think much was chance. Power of belief and law of attraction are powerful. Check any cognitive distortions, root out any limiting beliefs. I hope you can get to the place where you deeply understand. To be in that place, is unexplainable.

Telling me to keep nonsense to myself…hilarious, and hypocritical. Follow you own rules. I have every much of a right to post in this space as you do. The fact you tried to control me says a lot. I was in medicine, worked cardiac for over 10 years and now I’m in neuroscience..far from watching a few philosophy videos. Nice narrative btw. To make meaning out of things without much evidence (assumption), is exactly what a cognitive distortion is. It appears your thinking is rife with them, just in the comments you’ve written. So sad. You don’t even see your own blindness. Maybe a touch of anosognosia, eh? Now, as I have a policy…having been a medical practitioner…not to engage with those who seem mentally incompetent, I’m out. Me too. I think it is because if you get it when the ego is too much a part of the desire, the fulfillment strengthens the ego / false self more. In Christianity, they talk of God as the Giver and the thing we desire as the gift. (You can also think of God, in Tolle's terms as the Deep "I") When the ego is too involved, the gift can easily become more important than the Giver and we become attached to "it" more and more for our sense of fulfillment. We forget that the real treasure is already within us. That's how I look at It anyway. But I've often had the experience of getting things like you say, when I am no longer craving them or seeking them intensely. (But it is much easier to say than do.)

You’ve never lost it! It’s ever-present and always available to you. It’s only when the mind says “I’ve lost it” and is seeking too much that it gets lost in thinking and concepts again, so the presence isn’t lost, only overlooked. What I’ve realised and forgotten over and over again is just how simple accessing the deep I is. You’re reading this text right now, now notice that you’re aware of the fact you’re aware of reading the text. That’s as simple as it is. When you find an anchor of presence that works very well for you, bring all of your attention there. But then after that is established become conscious that you are conscious, and that is pure awareness. Very little room for thinking, or feeling like “I’ve lost it” because you realise you ARE it. All that’s required is the willingness to go there, the conscious choice to be conscious, and to be open to whatever comes into your experience 😊. I wish you wellness and peace ✌️

I came from a mother who suffered from schizophrenia and a father who wasn't able to cope with my mothers illness, so he left. I was shoved from piler to post into different foster homes as a young child, eventually to be placed in a children's home in N. Ireland. My sense of identity and belonging was always a challenge and I've arrived at many deep reailzations through my unique journey. I'm now 40 and have drawn much awareness through my experiences. And to find such Incredible teachings by Eckhart has aided me immensely. I am currently learning to control my pain body from rising through awareness and I am also practicing to become less needy through this exact teaching from Eckhart...I've had allot of rejection in my life and it's been incredibly difficult for my ego to let go of that searching and yearning for the love I never received from my parents and my brother... The yearning has been incredibly strong, but through that, I've learned that it's only possible for people to resonate on the level of consciousness they are on... I am learning to let go of expectations I put onto others and accept the frequencies others are on. It's insane to think friends/ family will love me in exactly they way I desire. It's impossible. I think drawing this awareness through Eckhart's and Kim's teaching has really helped ease my pain and I feel more ease with letting go in my expectations of love and neediness. I am deeply greatful for these wise, clarified teachings. I love you very much Eckhart. Thank you for helping me along in realization. ~X~

This was the first Eckhart Tolle video I saw and I understood the 'Deep I' right away and after awhile I started noticing the "glimpses", of still presence, as he said. It's been about one year since I saw this and I'm amazed the change deep within me. I watch or listen to ET nearly every day and now, finally, practise presence every day. This is still my favourite video despite doing the Conscious Manifestation online course which is amazing too!

I think in this personal growth / entrepreneur scene there is this idea of 'staying hungry'. I guess some people might take that as staying with unease. That feeling always at unease is what they need to propel them forward. But it can be a crappy experience. Always chasing some goals in the future and never getting to fully enjoy what you're doing now. I believe it's possible to be motivated out of inspiration. A huge desire to get to a destination but not because there's a void within you. But because you're inspired by a compelling future. And then you get to enjoy the process. You get to enjoy what you're actually doing now with more ease and flow instead of anxiously chasing an idea of the future.

@@marisah6947 Yes that's right! It's a challenge not to get your ego and identity invested in anything you're going full pelt at hoping to manifest your desires. But I believe it's possible to have a deeply desired goal, and yet be open to the possibility of it not happening. Perhaps they'll be some disappointment, but it doesn't have to destroy you. The key is acceptance of whatever happens.

I think many people confuse presence for passive living .Theres still outward moving as the polarity to inwards being and there is no way to complete dissolve the ego just be aware of it and use it and view life as a play,a game . You can still strive towards things like fame as an experience but not requiring as part that will make you whole or better.

Thats so right! There is such a thing is positive ego. Some of these new age guroos demonise the ego way too much. At its core it is just our basic survival mechanisms which serve us good in the moment but can become problematic if we hang on to negative things for too long. Emotional intelligence needs to be a bigger part of our education system. On the flip side anyone claiming to have no ego is an ego within itself.

He mentioned a very important fact :"FIRST you have to die to your illusory self"(Eckhart) there is deep connection between our ignorance and lack of awareness which causes our most idiotic and Stupit thoughts and actions. Our sense Of EGO will not gonna accept it's ignorance(for sure)and then it can easily justify it's own actions towards it even with the self righteousness pose. If we can accept our ignorance(instead of knowing too much.) that's the point where the inner changes starts to happen. Another great guidance from Eckhart.
