You mean just when the lightweight division needed it. Tony's done, Conor's not the same, Khabib's not coming back. Honestly we weren't that far away from questioning if Bellator had the best 155er in the world.

The fact that conor is jus rematching dustin right away when lightweight is the most stacked div. in history is dumb as hell. Dana is praying that Conor wins then they'll stick the belt on him then torture Khabib for a rematch.

That is 100% true, and you could see how upset dana looked in the post fight conference after poirer vs conor. Its a damn shame that dana is favoring certain players over others. Have you watched Gaethje's, Poirer's and Nate's latest interviews, each one of them hinted on how they were fed up one fighter being treated unjustly special over others. Dana hating on WWE, do seem to make MMA look like WWE a bit. And I don't hate Conor, he would do what is good for him but its Dana's responsibility to be fair and don't promote fighters just because they bring more ppv money, thats WWE for ya. And then asking player to play more entertaining is just ridiculous, pressuring players to play for entertainment is complete opposite of what MMA is in my opinion. I enjoy technical battles and so do lot of other MMA fans.

Yea these fighters are capping to protect their rank and record. Which is fair enough but if they lie like Chandler saying they they dont know him that's unacceptable Khabib made an offer to Chandler "If you beat Islam I'll let you fight me" but Chandler refused that one way ticket, even though he said he had the recipe to beat khabib and was confident if saying that, but that was clearly all talk lol I still think Chandler is a serious threat but he turned down a good offer

Josh Thompson recently said that Islam is the better grappler - in fact, he literally said Islam is better than Khabib everywhere, but Khabib has the stronger mind/better mindset. Quite a few guys from AKA has previously said similar things.

Khabib is more of a pace and pressure fighter with granite chin so he can walk them down. Islam have been knocked out once (I know the controversy) so he kinda change his style into a counter striker with takedown threats (his takedowns are better than khabib), but still his striking is solid all around, offense and defense. ground and pound is nowhere near khabib in term of impact and GNP angles but in term of control its about the same. Also that side arm triangle is unique, rarely see something like that.

@@fireandiron4181 Islam fights somewhat like the way Khabib fought Dustin because Khabib only locked Dustin's legs once in round 2, but Khabib doesn't need to do extra work to get his opponents down, he does it with a single leg or a double leg... If Khabib struggle with the takedowns, he does more trips and inside hooks and sweps, but he doesn't need to do that because he dominates too easily... Islam gonna be a future champ, most likely next year as long as he keeps dominating...

This happens in chess all the time: people get a high ELO ranking and then are afraid to play against people of much lower ranking for fear of losing all their ranking points. Maybe there should be bonuses created especially for such cases: "100 thousand bonus to anyone who beats him first".

You may be on to something there. Not a bad strategy at all. If someone really wants Khabib they need to make some drastic moves now before it drags on, and if it eventually happens people will be saying Khabib was past his prime. Needs to happen within the next 18 months to 2 years tops.

There *needs* to be a Tony v Islam, to close an unfinished chapter of a story that got canceled to many times with Khabib. Tony could be the only person who could bring Khabib back for one more. How? Just imagine, the fights going Tony's way, he's really giving Islam a beating. Tony looks at Islam's corner, looks at Khabib and say's, "You like this? Told you never had me. Come in here and let's do this!". Just listening to the taunts between the two, ringside would be worth the fight.

Many people agree with you, but this is also business entertainment like boxing. Business will go where it has more money. Right now conor bring more money to ufc, and Dana white surely will push hard for Khabib vs Conor rematch, because that's will attract more money! $$$

Kevin Lee doesn't even need to be ranked, he's more of a "name" than anyone islam has faced yet. Islam smashing Kevin Lee will get him further than smashing poor Drew Dober will get him, which is no further than where he was to begin with. Kevin Lee vs Islam could at least main a fight night or at least co main it. Only reason Islam vs Drew was on the main was because of Islam and him having khabib in his corner. Facts. Change my mind.
