@Wildcard him fighting once per year just simply isn’t true. Islam was everywhere khabib was during his run. Some people know what Islam was like, most won’t admit it. That’s not my fault that’s yours. The information was enough to catch a vibe from islam. Khabib always spoke highly from him as a fighter and brother. Islam has been with the ufc since 2015. There is no chance that you have followed to ufc since he arrived and not heard of him. If you just don’t like islam that’s your choice. But your not telling me anything with fact behind it.

The toughest guy he fought is Bobby Green, & that was short notice for Green who didn’t fight smart. The next biggest name Islam has faced in the division? Dan Hooker 🤣🤣🤣 WOW so he beat a journeyman on a losing skid, a journeyman who ALSO lost to Poirier/Chandler- 2 top tier guys Islam hasn’t bothered to step up to but whom Charles already beat convincingly. It’s really a joke that he’s even getting a shot @ Charles & the title at this point. You know who Islam should be fighting? Gaethje, Chandler, or Dustin. We all saw what khabib did to Johnson didn't we. Khabib didn't even struggle with anyone conor, to dustin, to justine, to johnson to everybody else. In their culture, the youngest son (plus his wife and kids) continues to live and care for the parents for the rest of their lives. Khabib is also the youngest son, which is one of the reasons he retired early for his mother. When his father passed, Khabib inherited his father’s responsibilities as head of the family and needed to be in Dagestan to care for his family, including his mother. I love how their culture and religion are based around the importance of close family relationships and taking care of each other. ❤

He's got a lot of work to do what Chael wants, it's not his thing, but he's got Khabib to help him somewhat. Wasn't really Khabib's thing but he figured it out. First thing he has to be real. He can't play a character, but he just needs to learn to loosen up and as Islam let us get to know him, say what he's thinking. Let it fly a little. But I tend to be more of a purist, and I don't believe the future is in stars and grudge matches and WWE like character playing and themes. I think what the UFC still sells and what people really want is the pure drama of as real as it gets and to learn what really works in a fight. That is what makes MMA special, and I think always will. We all dreamed of that, wished for that and all of a sudden in the 90's it was there it happened it was real. Not blood sport but real. Now some work has to be done to make "real" interesting. I understand that but most of it is in format, drafting and officiating not dry ice, middle fingers and crazy eyes. MMA was like a dream come true miracle for people who are interested in martial arts, and I believe it has done so much for the martial arts. The martial arts have improved more in the last 30 years than in 100 or 200 before. It had gotten stagnant which is what opened the door for so many buffoons and con men selling pure crap to people. You know martial arts actually matter it's not just entertainment this is what cops use and soldiers and people suddenly in a bad situation just trying to get home. As far as that fight it is literally the only fight right now on my mind. It's one of the biggest fights in the promotion's history and in many ways it's the biggest. Now not in PPV buys maybe I'll grant you but in terms of significance I think it's massive for a number of reasons I'm sure we'll hash and re-hash as the months follow but in general it is not a given outcome and for this reason largely. The speed and danger with which you can find yourself in a bad place on the ground with Charles. One thing about Charles is he is extremely dangerous and often you don't see it coming. You think his opponent is running away with it and all of a sudden, it's over with Charles the winner. Now one interesting thing about this fight is one of Charles' favorite tactics isn't going to work for this fight and that is if he's rocked, he goes to ground invites you into his guard and no one will follow. It gives him some time to recover. Islam will follow.

Sorry Chael, UFC fighters shouldn't need to win "the mandate of the people" to have a shot at the title. The UFC isn't the WWE. If you start caring about charisma and star power over ability and results, you might as well start fixing matches to get the right people at the top. If Chael was in charge of the UFC, CM Punk wouldn't have gone 0-2 and looked awful doing it, he would have been a multi-division champion, because lets face it, the guy had a pretty decent following and knew how to work a microphone. If the UFC is about authenticity though, it can't matter how well a fighter can work a microphone. Sure, it sucks for the marketing team if you've got some guy who doesn't speak a lick of English and thus avoids doing any promotion that isn't contractually obligated, but the second you start making requirements other than "ability to win fights" for progressing, you're no longer a competitive sport, you're "sports entertainment".

Yeah, I like watching UFC matches for the showcase of martial arts, but the rankings don't matter as much as I'd like. It's not a merit system on fighting ability alone. It should be, if it was really an experiment to find who is the best, but it's not that way.

Tbh even if he fought Chandler, most of the fans would still view Charles as the champ. Because, and I think you've said this exact same statement before about DC, he wasn't beaten. He got the belt taken over some bullshit. He honestly should've just challenged it, but I'm sure this is why he didn't. He knows he's the champ either way too.

Let's Be honest guys before signing the contract to fight islam charles oliveira did everything he could to Run away from islam makhachev. Let's be Real Guys charles oliveira before signing the contract to fight makhachev he tried his best to duck islam makhachev. ufc forced charles, ufc put pressure on oliveira to sign the contract to fight islam makhachev or else they would've made Beniel Dariush/michael chandler vs islam makhachev for the vacant lightweight belt in October 22nd Abu Dhabi ufc 280. michael chandler started calling out islam makhachev that he will fight islam for the vacant lightweight belt. chandler said to oliveira "Man up Charles" and fight islam in October Abu Dhabi. Michael said to charles oliveira step aside if you want to fight with conor mcgregor and not interested in fighting islam then i will fight makhachev for the vacant lightweight belt. chandler also started saying if charles Refuses to fight with islam makhachev then i michael will fight islam makhachev for the vacant lightweight belt then oliveira got scared bcuz he will loose his championship fight and loose his world title therefore he agreed to fight with islam makhachev. ufc literally forced charles oliveira to take this fight with islam. Charles Oliveira is Afraid & Scared to fight high level grapplers & wrestlers like Beniel Dariush and islam makhachev,.
