    It gave him a way to try to get people to forgive TJ since Dana wants to push him into the spotlight again. I mean Cheal tried to pretend like throwing an illegal strike when you thought the opponent was in a position that the strike would be legal was as bad if not worse than injecting yourself with EPO multiple times in a fight camp to try to get an illegal edge to win a championship belt. Now without his father there is no motivation for him to fight anymore. Easier to retire in his prime on top than to continue on and risk losing. Different mentalities.

    I think you might be overlooking Justin when you say chandler has the best chance of beating khabib. This is what everyone was saying about Tony as well saying he can beat khabib but he got finished by justin who got put to sleep in round 2 by Khabib. Khabib said a long time ago he would smash anyone in the lightweight division and he wasn't lying and the addition of chandler to the division imo doesn't change this statement

  • @ChrisARC

    @ChrisARC

    3 жыл бұрын

    The whole phenomenon of people thinking Tony had a chance is one of the most puzzling, non-talked about things in the UFC. Tony never had a chance; he was never even an elite LW. Anyone watching his fights can see he was never strong enough to bang with the top 5. All the UFC personnel were just being nice to the guy. Physically, he’s at too strong a disadvantage. That’s why Justin pieced him up. Justin will never have what it takes to beat Khabib though because of conditioning. Justin has the power and looked really good against Khabib in the first round. He was gassed by the second round. It was only a matter of time before Khabib ended it.

    Because of Tony’s jiu jitsu game is why the thought of him and Khabib fighting all those times was intriguing. Your using MMA math it doesn’t work like that. Justin has no jiu jitsu but is a solid boxer with power that matters against tony but doesn’t matter against khabib styles make fights. Aljo choked out sandhagen super fast, but Marlon moraes knocked out aljo, and finally sandhagen knocked out Marlon.

  • @ChrisARC

    @ChrisARC

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@beastieking1 I wasn’t using it as a linear metric (A beat B so A beats C). I just pointed to the fact that when Tony met a top 5 LW, he was waxed. Then he met another elite LW.. and got waxed. If you truly thought Tony’s bjj would save him, you weren’t paying attention to Khabib’s wrestling (Tony’s bjj couldn’t even save him from Charles). Tony versus Khabib would’ve been one of Khabib’s fastest fights. Tony doesn’t match up physically. I’m not disrespecting the man, but no level of bjj will save you from a strong wrestler (perhaps the greatest wrestler of a type in UFC history) if you don’t have other attributes.

"Give it enough time, I'll bring him out of retirement" that right there is a man who knows his situation. He knows he isn't there yet so he says he needs time. More opponents left to dominate before he fights the greatest. Also I said it's cringy but it's just a bit. Because he has been finished and khabib never lost a round let alone a fight, never got scars or anything too. Happy to see the new guys come over immediately. 😂 you’d have to nearly kill 1/2 of Khabib’s crew on ESPN+ before he’d come back.

    People don't realise, the thing that makes khabib invincible is not just his skill & brain, but his mental strength. How can you go against a fighter whom most people say can beat him with shorter training camp than usual, broken toe and after hospitalised? He already wins before he steps into that octagon.

    The answer to this question is obvious isn’t it? If you wanna be the best you have to beat the best. I totally understand why chandler would want to fight khabib if he wins the title. I mean can you ever really feel like the champion of the world if there’s a guy like khabib out there still?
