In a top gear book, they were jokingly running ideas for replacement presenters by the producers. One guy was rejected for not fitting inside the cars, followed immediately by a rejection of Meatloaf for not being able to fit in the studio

The winner was queen but when it came to presenting the award they had a problem: Brian May doesn’t like that song, Freddie Mercury was busy being dead, and they couldn’t remember the 4th guys name. So it went to Roger Taylor. But the trophy had little room and the engraver was a muppet so it read ‘Stop Me Now’.

Someone should make a challenge in which they have to drive a Volkswagen Beetle, across that really straight road from the muscle car special, all while listening to Meat Loaf.

My mum had two copies of this song on CD. The first one was destroyed at a party when some guy opened the CD out of its case and threw it against a wall, smashing it to pieces. She bought another copy. The second copy was also destroyed at a party when a different guy took the CD to the kitchen and scratched the disc reader side with a knife

Imagine how cross they would've been if it had won. Also it feels more like its just James that hates it, and the other two are just pretending because they got fed up of arguing with him.

When I watched this back when the series was being released, I never got the impression they hated Meat Loaf. Jeremy features Meat Loaf on a Greatest Driving Anthems CD (Hammond pokes fun at Jeremy because of this fact). I always thought they had to dissuade viewers from voting for Meat Loaf because they were just "a pokey little motoring show" and the winner would be on the show and they couldn't afford him.
