Top 5: Things I don't like about Tesla's

Ойын-сауық

Hey guys, in this video i talk about the top 5 things I don't like about Tesla's, and how they can improve on it. This isn't a Tesla hate as I love my Tesla Model Y. But i think Tesla can improve on a few things to make the car and experience better.

Great video! As a fellow Tesla driver, here are a couple of my thoughts. Tesla makes model Y's in four different factory's and all those versions are completely different with battery types even within the RWD version. Example is Tesla recently announced some 2023 RWD versions in the US have the long range battery with software limited range. Second imo Tesla is not allowed to put microphones for audio in cars in some countries for privacy reasons. Keep up the good work! 👍

Thanks. Really appreciate it. I didn't know about the microphone thing. One thing I forgot to mention but maybe I'll add in a future video was being able to view any dash cam footage on the app. Would make life easier then needing a computer to plug the usb.

@@JustMikeDotTv Funny you say that! In a recent 2024.14.5 update in my 2022 Model 3 RWD the Sentry Mode previews now go straight to phone when activated by alarm. 🤘

@@JohnC42069 good to know. I haven't had any sentry alarm notification (knock on wood) yet so maybe I had that too.

Those are pretty minor issues. Here are some of mine: - the usb ports are not lit, you always have to fumble in the dark to plug something in - If you have basic FSD the controls are terrible. Tab twice to engage and it switches off at every lane change. It is more work to operate than normal driving where it should make driving easier. On an older VW I drove I had its system on 100% of the time and it either made driving easier (on the highway) or quietly did nothing, it was helpful where it could and otherwise unobtrusive. - removing the parking sensors without a replacement solution was a terrible business practice. It took 6 months for the software update with parking detection via the cameras and it doesn't even work that well. - removing the indicator stalk. Try a few roundabouts with switches on the steering wheel. Bad idea. - removing the gear stalk. It is workable via the screen but doesn't make driving better. It only helps Tesla save production costs. - no carplay. Yes, Tesla's software is market leading. Yes, I still want my carplay. - only a center screen. Yes, I got used to it much easier than I thought but I still prefer to also have a screen right in front of me. - terrible rain sensor via cameras. It just doesn't work very well, hasn't for years but they never improved it. Might not be a big issue in California but it is very irritating in northern europe. - the interior lighting on the new model 3. It checks the box but I can't say it is very tasteful, it is just a coloured line. - stop pretending full self drive will be done in two years like it has for over a decade now and maybe stop using customers as guineapigs. In general I feel Tesla doesn't really care about the driver but more about reducing production costs. It is an important reason for me to switch to a different brand for my next car, despite how good the software is and how well it drives. In that Tesla is still years ahead of the competition.

These are all valid points. My video "top 5" were indeed minor things but were also the quick top 5 things that came in my head. I can't comment on the no gear stocks cuz my car is a 2023 Model Y. I did see a short TeslaFlex did where it's probably best to get a Model Y now cuz the new models won't have gear stocks. I kind of agree, although I'd probably get used to it like the center screen. But a lot of your list are things I'd consider in a future video.

I rode on a chairlift with a Tesla showroom person last winter who (after it was well known) didn't even know that the M3 performance version would be coming out soon and didn't seem to understand what I was talking about when I tried to tell him that, no, I didn't mean the base and long-range Model 3 refresh, but the refreshed performance version.

Just shows they're not up to date on everything. I found myself getting all my info on KZread before purchasing my car then getting info from an advisor. I actually think they were pushing for me to get the model 3 despite knowing I wanted the Y.

You dont complain about the minimalism for overpriced junk? How about something as simple as HUD? Rear wiper? Electric sunshade cover? Ability to open the panoramic moon roof? Simple grab handles for passengers to grab onto? Apple Carplay/Android Auto/Alexa? Oh, yeah! Nissan Ariya has them all! 😂

Why would I want a sunshade cover? The whole beauty of the Model Y is that panoramic glass roof that's already tinted. Plus I live in the North East unlike warmer areas. And looking at the Nissan website the Ariya actually costs more then a Tesla Model Y. Besides, Nissan isn't an attractive car.

@@JustMikeDotTv Im from Socal. Plenty of sunshine here. Hot too! I have the best of both worlds with beautiful panoramic moonroof, or close it with the electric sunshade cover. Ariya costs more for a reason. It has a lot more luxury features than the iPad on Wheels. Just saying. Check out the Ariya Nismo if it comes to the US. Looks far better than Model Y P.

You are correct that there are things Tesla can add so that people don't have to go to a third party place to get it done. Like electric frunk or sunroof shade installed. And it's something to consider when I make another top 5 list video. On the bright side, it does keep their prices down and someone like me didn't have to pay extra for something I didn't need. I'm not anti Nissan. I was going to get a Nissan gas car whichever was affordable in my price range at the time. I even looked at different EV's like the Nissan Leaf or the Chevy Bolt. But I decided if I was going to go all in on Electric to go with Tesla. Admittedly I do think the Ford Mach E does look sexier though.
