I think the funniest thing about the ban of the Death of Stalin is was 1: The majority of Russians were willing to watch it and 2. Those who did loved it and saw nothing wrong (Some theaters rebelled against the ban and were unfortunately punished by the government).

Who wants to go back to Stalin? Seriously! He was an even bigger butcher than Hitler! He is the reason why Russians were so unprepared for the Nazi invasion in 1941. That falls squarely on him and his paranoia! It can only be human beings that are genuinely that stupid! I hope i make at least a little bit of sense! :)

@@gabrielvinicius2409 Indeed they did! But that is not a credit that should be given to Stalin. The USA and other allied nations poured huge resources into the USSR to combat the Axis. The Soviet people worked tirelessly, and rose to that task. The Soviet people operated mostly under a fear of Stalin because of the purges, and the ever looming threat of more purges that even his most trusted advisors were not immune to. The USSR was an empire built on fear. Initially, when the Axis came into the Ukraine, they saw Nazi Germany as liberators. That is how bad Stalin was! If Hitler hadn't been so insane himself, he could have gained a valuable ally there. These people are not idealists, they are butchers! But i am so tired of Hitler taking all the wrap while Stalin gets a pass, when he was equally horrible. Are either of these people who you want operating your country in supreme authority?

I chose Deadpool, and then i completely got uncomfortable because of the violence and nudity in the film and so we left before it ended. But "The Great Dictator" was not Charlie Chaplin's first sound movie, nor even his first talkie, nor even the first where Charlie Chaplin's character's voice is heard. Modern Times was filmed as a silent film, but it was released with sound integrated with the film (thus making it a talkie), and Chaplin sings a nonsensical song in gibberish. The Great Dictator only gets the credit of his first talkie since it was written with dialogue and recorded at the 24 FPS that talkies were filmed in at that time.

What about Dogma? Try finding it on any streaming service or even on bluray. You can't. After Disney bought out Miramax they shelved this Brilliant religious satire for the remainder of eternity.

It makes me wonder about these countries that banned Wolf of Wall Street, so they must've gone insane with Casino or Good Fellas. I know they're not comedies, but if they're that ify about a comedy just imagine what they felt about those movies based on a true story.

The fact that Deadpool would be banned in communist China, and Uzbekistan, two of the most oppressive governments on earth, speaks volumes more than i could ever argue! :) As for "Life of Brian" i know from commentary that the Monty Python crew intentionally designed that movie to be irreverent. However, for me it had the opposite effect. When i saw just an ordinary man experiencing a parallel reality to Jesus Christ, and how it was playing out for him, it only strengthened my sense that the Gospels were telling profound truth! :)

Most of the 🎥 movies I didn't see, but The Simpsons, after the first season, I lost interest in it. Deadpool? Loved it! Love Marvel Movies! The Marx Brothers and Chaplin? I watched the Black and White movies as a child growing up during the 1960's and 70's and while I may not have understood the content, the movies were funny!!! And I love Monty Python's Flying Circus!!! I don't recall watching The Life of Brian all the way through, but The Meaning of Life is my favorite!!! The rest of these movies, I can do without.

Right before Zack & Miri Make a Porno was released in theaters, commercials shortened the title of the film to Zack & Miri. But I’m wondering if the controversy had less to do with the subject matter in itself and more to do with the idea of Seth Rogen making a porno. 🤢
