Huge loss. He was set for so many films. He was going to have a part in Interview with a vampire, Broken Dreams with Winnona Ryder, Basketball Diaries and Total Eclipse. He was James Camerons first choice for Titanic as well. Milk was also going to be filmed in the 90s and Gus van Saint got him to agree to play Cleve Jones. Those two were also trying to get an Andy Warhol movie greenlite at the time of Rivers death. We lost so much with River. Also maybe people will never say the truth but I think its important. Everyone in Hollywood knew how bad Rivers addiction was. His family knew about his addiction but he was their breadwinner and they didnt want to destroy his reputation by admitting it. He would pass out from his drug binges at industry events. People would see him slumped over all the time. He was always strung out. The night he overdosed (John F) gave him the speedball. He told everyone around him he was ODIng including his family, girlfriend, friends. They didnt call the police because they were scared it would hurt rivers reputation and that they (john F) would be questioned because most of them were high. They told him he was fine and eventually brought him outside where he collapsed. If he had real friends he wouldn't be dead. Also his heroin problem started during MOPI. Flea and Reeves were both on heroin at the time. Before he had only done coke, pills and alcohol

River Phoenix. He's so cool. I heard about him years ago when I first watched stand by me. As soon as I saw him, I instantly knew he was gonna be one of my favourite actors. He was so funny and really cute. Although, when he died I just couldn't believe it. At first I didn't think it was true, I thought it was just a silly joke that going around the internet, but then I realised that would never happen and that he really did die at only 23. He was just too young. He should have lived and continued his acting career because all of his movies were just awesome. I hope he sees this from heaven. Love him so much💙💙❤️

River Phoenix would have had such a big impact in the movie industry if he was still alive.

He was also an incredible actor, but in general, the world needs more people like him. I didn't even know too much about him until recently, actually, but I watched My Own Private Idaho for the first time recently and basically fell down a River Phoenix rabbit hole haha... and yeah, obviously it's always very tragic when someone dies so young, but especially someone as talented AND good as River... such a deep loss :(

That’s kind of crappy to suggest. Leonardo started his career at around the same time River started his so he didn’t take anything from River. They probably both would be successful peer actors.

I was hoping that Bruce Lee would be the Number 1. Not only he left us too early, but in his short lifetime he did so much for the martial arts and showed the western audience that the asian lifestyle wasn't so silly, how it was tought back then (1950's-60's). His films were his legacy, because they contain all the things Bruce Lee stands for. I think his biggest dream got fulfilled (as an actor), when "Enter The Dragon" marked the first cooperation between an asian (golden harvest) and american (warner bros.) film company, so that Bruce could show to the entire world the beauty of asia and martial arts. When I think what he could have done, when he would be alive until now....... that shows how much he is a legend, when he is still remembered so much years after his death and what he reached in its short lifetime (32 years).

Brandon Lee!! He should have been on the list, as opposed to a footnote in his dad's story. He should have his own place on the list. I honestly believe he was just about to become a major star if he hadn't died. I own a copy of nearly every movie he was in. He died way, way too soon. I am still sad that the world won't get to see what a great actor he would have become. He really had amazing potential. Sure, the movies he was in before The Crow were really cheezy, but there are these moments where he would just naturally shine straight through the camera and grab you and pull you into his character's shoes. These moments where he was just so believable in his performance are one of the many things I love about him.

Heather O'Rourke (1975-1988) also probably should have been at least an honorable mention in this count down. She was famous for her line, "Their here," in the Poltergeist movies and she definitely died too young.

Elizabeth Markham I think both Marilyn Monroe and Bruce Lee can give Dean a run for his money when it comes to being an icon. Dean is the archetypical "good looking rebel", Monroe is the archetypical "blond sex-symbol", and Lee is the archetypical "asian martial arts master". But yeah, either way, those three are by far the biggest actors on this list. It's a shame they ranked marilyn so low...

Cory Monteith is by far the one who had the most personal effect on me, because I was HUGELY into Glee for it's whole run- it was my show, basically- and I had also seen so many interviews and behind the scenes videos with the cast throughout the years that it felt a lot more personal to me than any other celebrity who'd died. He seemed like such a sweetheart

This sounds weird, as I wouldn’t want anyone to die early on this list, but I think River Phoenix should have been number one. I really think out of all of these people, he is the one I wish I could have seen continue forward. Again, I am not trying to suggest any of these people deserve death. It’s a countdown and I am making my mark. River was just such a compelling person. He was such a huge icon (though only rumors ever came of him being bisexual, he is presumed straight) for the LGBT, because he was one of the first to choose to write in his own character as in love with another man. He was getting low pay, and it was after his career took off, so it was a risk, but he didn’t care. He wanted to represent those who he met along the way, and he supported love. He was an advocate for animals. He cried when he realized his girlfriend ate meat. Like he was not a shit about it. He actually was emotionally broken by it. He survived the Children of God cult, something that led to...well some major PTSD for him. I don’t want to get into details but if you know what they do, then you know. He was just an incredible talent that I wish I could have seen more of. He really was something else. Everyone else I wish had lived on too. I was pretty broken up about Heath. His Joker performance and his Brokeback Mountain performance were the first time anyone gave him enough credit for his skills, but idk...we all knew he had talent.

This just in: Chadwick Boseman, best known for Black Panther has died at age 43 of colon cancer.

Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee, River Phoenix, Paul Walker, Heath Ledger and many others who died soon. R.l.P. always loved and never forgotten 😢♥️

What about Judith Barsi? (for those of you unfamiliar with the name, she voiced Ducky in "The Land Before Time.") She was murdered at age 10 by her abusive, alcoholic father. She should have definitely been on this list.

Yeah, they definitely need to do another top 10 list, or 2, on this subject!

Robin Williams isn't on the list bc nobody is thinking "wow, I wonder what couldve been".. he gave us everything already..

It makes me sad that Robin Williams wasn't even an honorable mention.
