Vince, Linda, Stephanie, and Shane were living in a trailer when Vince gambled on himself and a relatively unheard of network called mtv. If those first mtv shows weren't a success there would be no wwe today. The reason vince was always able to out work his competition was because his back was against the wall, it was succed or go out of business. Tony has never known that fear and without it he'll never know true success

Oh Jesus man..your just telling the Vince McMahon pr story..why are you believing this?..Vince "bought" the company from his father for 1 Million Dollar that he could have payed out of wwfˋs running business but never had to do..wwf/wwe was already the biggest & best (💵)running wrestling company..yes he took a calculated risk for WM 1..but it was pretty clear that MSG would be sold out..closed circuit tv was already proven to work and WM 1 became the best selling wrestling event till this point..there was no way he was going bankrupt but it became a huge success...🤙

That’s exactly it. People want to say “well, WWE has a 40+ year headstart”. Yes, they paved the way to make wrestling into what it is today, but it’s not like companies that came after can’t learn from it to avoid the mistakes WWE made. In addition, it’s not like Vince started off as a billionaire. The first Wrestlemania was a make or break moment for him. Tony loves to talk about how they’ve done XYZ in a short amount of time while pretending like he’s a common man just starting a wrestling promotion and the big bad WWE is holding him down. He plays the victim while also bragging. Ultimately, Tony became what people hated in WWE for the longest time and that was Vince running the company. Most people don’t want AEW gone. They want Tony gone.

AEW had the potential to be the top contender in wrestling and make Vince & the WWE have to step way up. Tony has his fathers deep pockets, access to huge production teams, access to some of the absolute best veteran talent to help him build and steer the AEW ship. Instead Tony just jumps around trying to be liked and friends with everyone. He wants to keep being told how great he is, how he is the best, how nothing he does is wrong. No one wants to tell Tony he was wrong or he messed up in the company because he cannot handle it. He is used to having everyone hold his hand and patting him on the back and sugar coating everything. Tony needs to sit back and put someone like Flair, Arn, Tully or someone in charge to run the show. If the talent gets pissed at someone like Arn or Tully for telling them off on what to do they shouldn't really be there anyway.

Tony Kahn needs to recognize that the people who used to pay to sit in the seats of the arenas that now are empty are trying to tell him why. There are people who used to be fans that aren't anymore. So much of the "WWE Fanboy" attacks are just AEW and the fans they have left deflecting instead of accepting.

Vinnie Mac bought "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Bobby "The Brain/Weasel" Heenan and "Mean" Gene Okerlund from Verne Gagne's AWA (which folded up in 1991); "Rowdy" Roddy PIper, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat went to the WWF (from Jim Crockett Promotions, which collapsed in 1988). Tony is in his early 40s. Think about that for a few minutes. He isn't even a spoilt rich boy any more he's a grown man playing with life size toys using his fathers money. He had access to veteran talent and didn't use their decades of knowledge to build a better product. He needs a business manager and a solid GM between him and the talent. I wanted AEW to be a genuine alternative to WWE just because i believe in the benefits of competition in business.

Only *some* of the fans (mainly WWE fanboys) are "attacking" AEW, the rest are just criticizing it. The criticisms are often brutal, but that's because people are frustrated. They want AEW to improve and be great, but they're not seeing it happen. They are trying to let Tony know what they think he needs to do, but he isn't listening. He won't even listen to the people who have been in his position and have a ton of experience running wrestling promotions or booking for them, such as Jim Cornette, Eric Bischoff, and obviously Vince Russo.

Because he doesn't know how to be a boss, he's more concerned with being a buddy because he's a god damned smark for the 90s. He's not even a very bright smark, because if he was there are people working there like Arn Anderson who he could have either help with booking or do the booking..But nah he would rather smash his figures together appeal to that hardcore mudshow audience and cry about being attacked.

Khan would lose his mind if someone else wrote his show better and the ratings went up. I honestly feel hed be pissed realizing he couldnt get the ratings up with his own so-called 'booking'. Where I think Tony went wrong is attempting to attack WWE. He doesn't understand that no matter what he does, he is a smaller Indy business, and cannot compete with WWE. If he accepted his spot and knew his role, people wouldn't be as ruthless. Impact/TNA is a perfect example of simply staying in your lane.

But after they squandered all the momentum coming off Punk and The Elites real life fight by blaming it all on Punk and they doubled down on over pushing indie darlings over real pros, I stopped taking them seriously and slowly gave up on the product. Now to me TNA/Impact is a much better alternative than whatever Tony Khan is doing with his company that no longer provides any sort of great character or storyline but just relies on getting Dave Meltzer and his minions off at the expenses of real wrestling fans

These HATERS are telling him, no not everything is great. Some of this criticism is fair and the fans aren't just hating just to hate, they want the product to improve and grow, it has been the opposite, a sinking ship. Tony takes the power of positivity way overboard. All he says at every scrum, the show is great, everything is great, we did record numbers, we have been on a row. It just all sounds so delusional. Do you know which company actually has done the best? TNA or Impact Wrestling. They started as an alternative to WWE. They had a shaky few years and signed some WWE guys. They are now more like an Indy fed, but at least they are still around, and stay in business by doing their own thing. No one thought TNA would still be around.

The only reason AEW hasn't gone out of business is because Tony Khan has unlimited funds to throw at it and doesn't seem to care if it doesn't make profit. WCW went out of business because Time Warner chose to, not because they had to, in the spirit of return on investment because it wasn't making a profit, just like AEW isn't making a profit now. The equivalent situation with AEW would be if Shad Khan cut funds because he was sick of the headache.

I hope there will be something better than AEW to come along someday soon enough. It's been 20 years of nothingness from the wrestling world. The idea of the general public as an audience or potentially untapped viewership is lost. Gone. Kayfabe being insulted and dissipated has ruined the entire presentation of all modern wrestling on television. The only things fans are talking about it the public talks about are things like drama...cm punk... Benoit...steroids... allegations etc etc NOTHING about the performance or storytelling is of interest. I really hope that in my lifetime I will see a promotion that is riveting and unmissable, with a killer show every week and amazing storylines, involving convincing acting and real characters without all the scripted crap.

Here is the deal. I started as an AEW fan. I hate WWE product with passion, I consider WWE stupid and tacky and, most importantly, crappy wrestling. I was a huge ROH fan and fully expected that AEW will be ROH on steroids. And it started that way, but then it very quickly deteriorated, and instead of being an ALTERNATIVE to WWE, like they implied they want to be, they became WWE lite. With even shittier storylines, even worse booking and even dumber characters. Really? MIro "The Redeemer"? "The Acclaimed"? (Aka, we are trying to get over on a 20 year old gimmick). The push is based on what parameters? Nobody knows. Skye Blue, an chicago indie hack, all of a sudden in a title picture, 4 weeks after showing up in a fed. Eddie Kingston, a fat ass who can't move, who looks like garbage, fat, clumsy, out of shape, who's every move looks very weak and sloppy, he is getting pushed to the moon, and don't start me on Pockets the Mascot dog. Is it hard to do dives and other gymnastics while having hands in your pockets? Yes. So I agree, Pockets is a good athlete, but a shitty wrestler. When Bryan Danielson, or Andrade or Rush have a match, it is easy to believe that they are "For real", especially RUSH (THANK YOU). But Pockets the dog - he utterly destroys the business, and shows us that EVERYTHING is fake. Imagine you are watching an action movie (which you know is a movie, not real), and a main actor all of a sudden in the middle of an action scene says "Hey, I need the camera show me from a different angle, and my prop gun is broken". Would you EVER watch another movie with that actor? No. That's what Orange Cassidy does. AEW has a lot of good wrestlers, some shitty wrestlers, and an absolute piece of liquid manure for a booker.

Actually the pandemic proved otherwise. It proves that TV contracts, advertising and sponsors are the major forms of revenue for wrestling. Ticket sales are important too, but a TV deal is the No 1 source of revenue. Without that, you don't last long. If the fans were the no 1 source of income, then WWE and AEW would have folded in 2020, 2021.

There are a few steadfast rules of Wrestling. It is a cyclical business, every promotion closes, and money marks always get soaked until their pockets are dry. Tony is white whale the pro wrestling business searched for 120 years to find. The billionaire's son who has unlimited access to daddy's money until he doesn't. Anyone with enough common sense will make the decision if the overinflated contracts he gives to most are worth the hassle of working in that asylum.

Tony Khan will never admit his booking has been bad. I think he is surrounded by "yes men" who tell him the booking is great even though ticket sales and TV ratings are down. Even though Jim Cornette and Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff and anyone who knows what wrestling should be are telling him the reason why is that the booking is bad, he considers it some kind of unfair attack on the company. It must be because in Tony's mind, the booking couldn't be better and his shows couldn't be any better.
