Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
For episode 3 of this series, we take a look at the bowl gouges that I use, namely 3/8", 1/2" and 1/4" bowl gouges. I explain the angles I use and why I use them . . . there are also some very simple demonstrations on each of the tools in use.

Great camera work. This was best explained video on the bowl gouges I’ve seen. The angles make a lot more sense to me now

Very informative video Martin. Thinking of buying the Sorby proedge deluxe. Seems to be the go to sharpening system. Well done 👏
Lots of learning here, thanks!
Very interesting and instructive, thank you.
Thank you Martin - excellent demo. I've used 45 degrees for years from Jimmy Clewes

Videos. I'll try 55 degrees. I do have a bottom feeder at probably 60 degrees. New turners need to understand this - great work sir!.
Smashing video, very informative no nonsense advice. One question if you don't mind, on the 60 degree 'bottom feeder' have you ever put a secondary micro bevel on this? I've seen others do it and wondered is there any advantage. Thanks again for the info
Hello Martin. Bowl gouges, are they measured by bar thickness or across the flute? Best regards.

Hi John. Traditionally in the UK (says Les), bowl gouges are measured from the inside of the flute to the outside of the bar on the opposite side of the tool . . . However, they are now often measured across the flute....so 1/8" bowl gouge is often on a 1/2" bar.

What’s the shaft diameter on your “1/2 gouge”?
