I love how the wood comes to life when you put the finish on it. It tells it's own story.
God, what a beauty! The men behind the machine are like idols, and Ashley is full of emotions, the body wriggles and a creation with a soul is born! Ashley's creation! Greetings from Belarus!🙂
Been missing your smiling face.Beautiful vase.
You make it look so easy. Enjoy watching you turn. Thanks for sharing.
The great artists make it look so easy.
You have a great smile, an amazing talent, and a true artist's eye. Thanks for the positivity!
Outstanding job Ashley. The grain of the live oak is simply beautiful. You’ve yet to turn something I’ve not liked. I need to make a vase for our daughters wedding 💐 at her table. I just completed the lidded box our little nephew will be carrying her wedding rings to the front of the barn / wedding chapel. You’ve done a great job as always. ....🇺🇸GrUmPy🇺🇸....
As always it is such a delight to watch you make these beautiful works. Thank you !
Beautiful work! Thank you, Ashley!
Ashley that's absolutely beautiful, I love Oak and especially watching good chisels cut through it like a hot knife through butter 👍👍👍
Another beautiful piece Ashley. Thank you for posting.
What a gift - for you and us ;)
I do enjoy oak, a highly underrated wood. The finish really brought that piece to life, it looks great.
Another great video! I received your new 1/2" Bowl Gouge, thank you for the great packaging, and it's an absolute pleasure to use! Thank you!
Live oak is awesome!! Don’t see many videos of turners using it. Great to see you back on the lathe!
GREAT job Ashley, glad to see a new vid from you !
Beautiful wood and a beautiful piece! Thanks for Sharing.

Very nicely done, the piece has a beautiful shape and a wonderful grain pattern. Thank you for sharing your video.
Outstanding bud vase!
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful 🌞
Fantastic bud vase. Your videos are a pleasure to watch.
Live oak has a wonderful grain pattern. Excellent technique.
Beautiful wood and a beautiful piece! Congrats on the release of your own line of tools. 👏
Love the grains of oak and another great video. Thanks for sharing
So incredibly beautiful what a fabulous job
Great grain! Thanks for doing this for us.
Amazing! I'm going to have to try a lathe project one of these days. Was great to watch your process. Excellent.
Amazing thank you Ashley!!
I love the sanding!
What a delight it is when you see a woman doing this. Simply beautiful!
Beautiful project!
Beautiful bud vase Ashley.
All I can say is WOW!!!!
Perfect timing Ashley...I'm going to be turning some vases next month from left-over shop scraps. Love that shape...I'm definitely going to copy that shape.
Very nice. Proportions spot on.Thanks for sharing.
You make it look so easy, beautiful job 👍
Always enjoy your videos
Beautiful piece 😄
Another delightful little project with good shape & a lovely finish on great grain too. Great video so thanks for sharing Ashley. Don from South Aust.
Very nice piece!
I always look forward to your videos, you explain your process so well and the footage with your voice is very engaging. Very much looking forward to seeing the next video, thanks from Wales.
Hello Ashley, safety was drummed into me when I first started turning some 60 years ago. I am amazed how many turners I see on these videos with baggy sleeves, open toed sandals among a lot of other items including large fancy watches ! I have seen some graphic videos regarding accidents on the lathe. Why do you need a watch on your wrist when turning? You turn some lovely items but please, lose the watch. Best Regards.John
The vase had a nice shape and finish. I liked your parting off technique.
It's very nice ❤
That look's great Ashley, really nice, have a nice day & Stay Safe. Brian UK !!!.
Very nice piece.
Wonderful work! Thank you! I haven't tried any live oak, yet. I have some logs "resting" thanks for sharing. Be safe, be cool! Beach, NC
Beautiful work as always. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks, Dave over in middle Tennessee.
Magnífico, perfeito estou aprendendo com vc👏👏
I have a bowl gouge from you and the respirator, thank you for that. Also saw Stuart Batty at SWAT and told him to tell you Hi from me, next time he saw you!
😂😍 Love that thumbnail, queen
I just started turning live oak fairly recently, when I moved back to Texas. It was not available in Arizona. I love the interesting grain patterns. I have a pretty good stock of it now.
Wow. That is great. I've just got myself a lathe. You are awesome. I'll try turning a bowl first I think. Your videos are great. Well done.
Beautiful
Beautiful 👍
Hi 👋, Ashley Harwood, I hope you are all keeping safe and well, I think that I can say from everyone in the wood turning community that we have missed you, just not your pretty face but you’re amazing work, you did mention that you had moved and you had had problems with your building project, are you likely to start work again soon or have you started another channel?, Stay safe., Phil from the moulin France.
Beautiful piece. At first, I thought you were going to make a completely hollow vase. Then, you mentioned putting a test tube in the hole, and that makes a lot more sense. Now I have something to do with a lot of my scrap blanks-once I unearth my lathe again. C'mon, who doesn't love sanding?
I have never seen a live oak turning. That tight grain is stunning. Thank you for doing your videos in an easy to follow and learn from format. This is one of my favorite turning sites.
Thanks
Très jolie Ashley bravo 👍
Молодец!!! Красивая девушка, делает красивые изделия!!!
The bud vase... So simple and yet so difficult to get right. Rude Osolnik turned them by the thousands many made from offcuts from veneer mills. Very nice design and execution.
I've recently turned a live oak caulking mallet and did a ammonia fume finish the grain popped
Hi great wood joice, I´m not so sure about the design of the upper part but it´s a matter of taste. Nice video, thanks.
Nice monitor size!! :P
Wonderful. Why do you use so many different roughing gouges?
Ashley that is beautiful! How long does it take you to produce the vase please?
As always, informative and entertaining. Out of interest Ashley, what speed were you turning ( and sanding) at ? Ian UK
Awesome result with the live oak. It is a beautiful piece. Did you use any sanding sealer off camera? I am new to this and always thought that was pretty much a given. Thanks for the video. Can't wait to try it myself Dave
Do you have a recommended walnut oil wax?
Good 👍 luck girl
Hi Ashley. In a few of your videos I see you use a very small, wide, detail scraper to finish the exterior of some pieces. Is that a tool you offer for sale or do you have a link for it. It seems very handy. Thank you!
Complimenti 🔝🔝👍
Hi Ashley. I inherited a chunk of Guanacaste and am thinking about making candlestick holders or bud vases. How stable is it to turn? What is your opinion? Thanks for any suggestions. Jeff
I love live oak, but it can be a real bear to dry without cracking down here in Florida. Did you use a kiln for that piece?
Hi,., Ashley Harwood ,. have a nice day.
what tube did you use for the insert?
Only you could do something so magical sweetheart. Love you. Love what you do. God Bless and stay safe.
The production quality is even more amazing! The only thing for me at least was the music was a little too loud considering you have such a soft voice.
Класс!

What is the head gear and where does the hose lead to
Sketching doesn’t work for me as the wood always has a mind of its own, so I take solace in what David Ellsworth told me when I asked him about his sketching habits. His response was, “I sketch with my gouge.” Something I have found very helpful when refining the shape of a vessel is (with the lathe OFF!) to close your eyes and run your hand over the piece. With your eyes closed your hands will become more sensitive to subtle variations in the vessel’s profile and transition areas.
Muy. Bueno
👍🏼😊
Do you ever use the shavings to burnish after sanding? I've found it to be quite useful.

I believe no, but that's why she wears a respirator.

@@hull99 That full face rig is the most comfortable way to go. Nose and mouth masks fog my specs.
Can you tell me about your respirator? I'm looking for something like that to keep the dust and fumes out of my lungs and nose lol
What lathe machine you have
Ashley, can you confirm that your tools go straight from the grinder to the workpiece. I’ve always understood that they need to be honed as well, but it looks like I’ve been misled! Greetings from Scotland.

I know a guy that goes from an 80 grit wheel straight to the lathe. Check out Woodturner21. He's from somewhere in the UK I think.
Yes good jop 🤝💐👑
Does anyone know the music at the start of the video ?
is the helmet a 3m??
Do you have overhead dust collection? For when you’re sanding.
годится😏👍
