It seems to me that there are no citations in the book, not even sources list at the end. Or am I wrong? I know it is for wider public, probably like "one of the starter books" to get you interested in the topic. It makes book less serious. And if you are interested, sources list gives you initial hint where to follow.

@@UsefulCharts Thank you for the response. I got the references part for general/common knowledge books (but it subjectively take the book on another level if refs are here). But list of similar books/soures is helpful for readers to get hint where to follow for more info. Maybe you can think about that in next edition. PS: "common knowledge" is actualy not that common or it is very very slim range of knowledge.

For a suggestion, I suggest you make a book out of one of your classic charts: Writing Systems of the World! You can make the small charts more detailed overviews of the different types of writing systems and write about the history of the writing system type, its special quirks, example scripts and some features specific to a few scripts in particular.

I wish books like these were included in British school curriculums. It tends to be that England focuses almost entirely on English history, Scotland on Scottish history etc without considering the intimate links between us.

I hope there is coverage of the proto-Welsh speaking, Kingdom of Strathclyde which extended from north of Glasgow almost down to Manchester. It got incorporated into England and semi-Scotland around 1000 AD.

I think the fold out maps should be at the end of the chapter it corresponds to. That way you can have it open flat to reference while you peruse its history.

Exactly what I needed right now!! Recently I've been reading many books about the british monarchy and this one came right on time! Just a really really small correction: the line of succession is not entirely up to date, since princess Eugenie recently had her second son, so everyone after him just goes one place down the line... Can's wait for more English/British monarchy content on the channel! Maybe one about the Wars of the Roses, Including the Neville and Woodville families who played a major role in it? I think that can be really interesting. Anyway, Thank you!!

That's a really important book!

As seen at 15:30, I found that the fold out charts tear really easily. Once torn, the tear progresses quickly. If you put a hole punch on that crease it helps stop the tear.

a big fan of the first book. will definitely check on the second one. kinda hope you will eventually cover the deeper history of Southeast Asian and Oceanian countries, a less discussed yet very rich topic in history. so far, when it comes to Asia and Oceania, most people only focus heavily on Indian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern history.

For your East Europe dynasty chart, it seems you didn't add the Vlastimirovic dynasty that became the Nemanjic dynasty later on. But you did add the Trpimirovic dynasty, which is croatian, but not the serbian one.

A genealogical merger of sorts happened once the Tudors were on the throne, as they descended from Llywellyn the Great of Wales (meaning btw that Alfred was not the only British monarch who ever had 'the Great' appended to his name).

As the first king of Ireland was King Henry VIII of England. Was he just King Henry without the VIII there?
