I appreciate that you've taken the time to demo the travel glass mat as there's not a lot of tutorials about it like there are about the original size. I'm fortunate to have both sizes. I didn't want to take the larger glass mat to crops and the travel size will store easily in my rolling tote for that purpose. You can do almost everything on the travel mat as you can on the original except work on cardstock larger than 8" x 8" (if you want to utilize the markings that is). I think Tonic/Tim Holtz deserve kudos for not only creating 2 sizes for the glass mat, but also a set for lefties! Thanks for the nice demo, Simon!!

Hi Simon! I got this mat at a garage sale and didn't even know what it was at the time. After watching your video, I now know what it for. I'm not artistic so I'll probably be passing it along to someone who will appreciate it. But, I just wanted to tell you what a pleasure you are to listen to. My mat just came in the male. Now I can use the mat even when crafting in my wheelchair or a small space. I have the regular TH glass mat and use it regularly, but I can now work on my lap or in small spaces. Great idea.

Thanks for this Simon! I watched Tim introduce it on an FB Live and was intrigued. I have two of the big ones on my work table flipped for my left-handedness. HA! I have a tiny space to work in so this is definitely something that's going on my wishlist! The original, for me, would be amazing for scrapbooking and art journaling and mixed media making (I use a lot of canvases). Great review, tfs :)

I LOVE that they came out with a left-handed version! I currently have the right handed version and I have to cross my arms to pick up the paint from the white grid. Haha! I get in my own way 🤦🏻‍♀️

I guess leftys could always turn the mat upside-down to keep from having to cross over.

Hoping to pick up a left handed one. The one on my desk(regular size) is for right handed. Would like to try a lefty. Love that it comes with cover. I use the regular size all the time at home. Works great!

I love my large mat. I probably won't get the smaller one because I don't think I will need it as well. But it's great that they are offering both now - although not sure if it's available in the UK yet.

I will definitely be getting the travel size mat. Even though I rarely take my supplies on the road, I think the smaller size will be far more convenient since it takes up less desk space than the full sized mat (which I use often). In fact, I think it was failure to move the glass mat off my desk while using my Big Shot that resulted in several scratches in the glass surface. 😭 It was nice to see the two mats together for comparison! Yes, I know how a ruler works but the visual was helpful. 😉

I don't have the Glass Mat, I didn't really have a lot of space for it, but this one I might have to get. Thank you Simon

Hi Simon, I love how you explain things. I ordered some of your inks from joggles.com, haven't used them yet but i will. I love the colors. Thank you for all you do. Just got to get in there and get it done.

Doubt you’ll see this but wanted you to know this is the first of your videos I saw. As a crafter trying to size up someone claiming to be a crafter my first question would be “show me your cuticles”. You have lovely nails (I’m a biter) but the stained cuticles I’m looking for. Take away: this guy knows his s@?#. I just subscribed and can’t wait to check out more of your work.

Awesome review Simon boyo - you aced it! I love this TRAVEL media mat which is the PERFECT size! Size DOES matter as there is such a thing as TOO big! Now I know why I didn't buy the BIG media mat! Heck - I haven't got round to buying a stampin' platform yet - because I can't decide whose to get! I'll watch your review of all your favourite work surfaces and then decide whether I want the BIG brother to the TRAVEL mat! I'm guessing that I'd like the TRAVEL mat for my watercolouring and other cleanish painting projects - but then get something bigger/chunkier for my mixed media projects. I'm also waiting for CHSI Stitches show early 2020! I would LOVE to go to CREATIVATION - one year - it would be a dream American vacation (even a working holiday - hint hint - anyone!! ?) to take that in too!! TFS buddy! xx ~ C ~ uk

Odd that the full size and travel size are the same price. There is a good difference in size. Do like the smaller footprint.
