I love my Tim Holtz glass mats…yes, plural. I have 2 craft rooms and after using it I truly could not work without it. I had been carrying it between the rooms but it’s affordable and I’m so happy to have it ready for crafting in both both areas. I also have the accessory tool kits. This media mat puts me in the right headspace for creativity but moreover, as Tim mentions, it keeps everything neat. I can have junk all around it but my creative space is zen like. It is a game changer!

I’m so glad I watched this and then bought one. The simple use of those feet on the mat to stop your mediums moving on to the mat is genius not forgetting the rest of the things it does. Who knew🤷‍♀️how a mat could change your craft room. On another subject Tim talking about hand sanitizer and folk not having it when there was a pandemic of flu in the area really shocked me considering Covid was not far away in the future.

I've been using a glass mat for years and love it. Welcome to the world of glass mats, Tim Holtz. This mat is a nice one. I would have preferred a gray background instead of black.

EVERY TIME!!! I think I purchase More from Tonic...or, Tim's line, than Any Other company, and, that says Quite a lot. I don't have an "art" I don't do. From wood, paper, glass, metal, .. I've Always been an artist... becoming disabled pused my art further...

Glass media mat is great but I feel it can also include light box in it then it can take the whole thing to the next level.

I only have so much room in my fifth wheel and having the light box built in would save that much more space.

I love my glass mat but this video reminded me of all its great uses❤️❤️great job Tim🥰you are the best🙂

This is a winner in my book. Leave it to Tim Holtz to think up another great tool. I can see this working well with my Calligraphy along with everything else that Tim mentioned. I am looking forward to this becoming available soon.

Ha, ha, ha! You can see Tim is still crowding his work area with the mini's tin and markers! However, I do believe the mat will work if you learn to put supplies off of it. I hate when stuff rolls across my work. Especially when my project has wet ink or paint on it. I'll be working on a pristine white card that I just stamped on and have a marker or something roll across the image and spread the ink. It's frustrating. Of course, the mats other features are great, too! So, I will be purchasing one. Thank you for the video!

Damn you Tim Holtz! Well, actually my husband is damning you because it's more stuff that must be added to my craft room!

In staying within my budget, for the most part, I only got my new media mat and tools about a week ago. I have the Original (to me) orange and clear glass mat, and I considered this an "unnecessary upgrade" UNTIL I used it... I'm still going to use the original glass mat... but. I Am So Happy and In Love with This glass mat. My husband Threatened to "borrow" it to Clean Fish. I told him, either buy his own, OR, Prepare his funeral... lol. It IS among my Favorite tools today.

OMG I must get even though I already have a glass mat...this is just what I was looking for but didn't know I was looking for it! I LOVE the area for my paints, etc. AND the centering and edge thing. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything else for a few months because I want to save for the scrapbook/stamping convention I'm going to in July, but dang it! I just have to HAVE this!

If you are left-handed, simply turn the whole apparatus upside-down. Except for the numbering across the bottom (now top) and left side (now right), everything (including the cutting/marker edge tool!) falls into place for your ease and use.

I was going to say the Same thing. I'm Truly ambidextrous, but, my mom and Aunt are Left handed... we've had a Lot of "adapting" for crafts and such..

I want this, it will help keep my desk clean, and, define my craft space, on an easy to clean tool

I bought the glass Matt last year and love it now I needto get the other tools to go with it. Plus I also learn a few things. I also have the watercolor Crayons and didn't realize I could use those squares and get better color than I do just using the water brush on them now I'm going to go to town LOL

When he was demonstrating the ruler prototype, he said a metal rod will be inserted on the right side and be used for cutting and would be for right handed people, but all you would have to do is hang the ruler from the top edge and now your metal edge will be on the left for lefties.

Hi Tim, You mentioned in your video about tonic having to do an upgrade?, for left-handed people with the ruler. If you put the ruler down to draw a pencil line for right-handed people, a left-handed person would only have to move it over to where they wanted to cut and then cut down the opposite side. If you turn the ruler upside-down for a right-handed person to cut, a left-handed person could use the side for drawing. I hope what I've written is understandable?

is it heat resistant? I have a heat tool that cuts plastic to make pockets but I haven't used it because I don't know what to cut on. it is also a wood burner type of tool.

All Tonic has to do is add another lip on the other side of the existing lip and left handers can use the tool also. As a classically trained draftsman we did the same thing with straight edges on our drafting tables. Many, many, many years ago. VBG

When I use hand sanitizer to clean my glass media mat, I get smears, which makes it look sort of greasy? Is this typical or is could I be using the wrong brand/type of hand sanitizer? Once I polish it with my cleaning cloth it looks okay I've discovered. Other than that, I love my media mat. In fact, I purchased the travel size to take to crops as I can't fathom going back to my old craft mat, even if it is Tim's brand!!!

Hooray...I found one on Amazon listed under Tonic Studio Glass Media Mat. Cost was $47 and free shipping. If I found one for $40, I'd probably pay at least $7 for shipping. 6/30/2018 There were 3 in stock and I ordered 1 of them.
