Great review, well done! I use a tempered glass light box made for multimedia to save space, but know you’ll love your Tim Holtz mat too. I’ve used a glass mat for years, and don’t find my knife blades dull any faster. I’ve not used my rotary cutter on my glass mat, so can’t comment on this.

The tools just came back in stock over at Amazon but I couldn't remember why I thought I needed to have them so I searched KZread and here you are! Oh my gosh, I didn't know you could use a razor to cut paper on the mixed media mat!!?? I have not dared to do that for fear of scratching it. So now that his video is three years old, do you still use a straight edge cutter on the mat with no issues? I'm not sure I'm that brave but I want to be! :)

Hi. I ordered mine from www.craftydevilspapercraft.co.uk. It is pre order for mid/late Aug despatch. Currently on offer at £31.99 instead of £39.99. Plus p&p. Tonic keep delaying the release but, like I said, it’s now running at Aug despatch. Can’t wait to get mine 😍😍😍

I don't understand what I must have done wrong then because I used my fiskars finger blade and it made a huge gash in my media mat. I am very sad about it.

I have my media mat and I love it WARNING . .. Do NOT use ceramic hobby knives on it... Unlike regular hobby knives ceramics scratch the mat I learned that the hard way,. Luckily I found out it was scratching it before I ruined it.... No ceramic blades people....

I don’t understand why they would make a “square” ruler without it being square. Love Tonic products normally but this seems like a major design flaw.

I thought that too. It could be that they need to extend the top of the ruler sideways so it has a top more like a T Square. A ruler that isn’t straight to the mat seems crazy.

The ruler is square, it is the grid on the glass mat that was printed wrong. The grid itself is straight but the placement on the mat is not.

It is not a RULER! Just watched Tim’s video on this product and he makes that point strongly. Whenever you think something is wrong, you should really do some research and give people credit for having thought things through before spending a huge amount of money with a product that has a flaw. They did it right and you just didn’t understand it well enough. It is a tool to cut with on one side, and to draw a line with or use it to set letters straight on a card or scrapbook page.
