I definitely need one of those. I wear the air flow myself but yes the brim flapping up and down in the wind drives me nuts. I didn't even know they made that. Very cool 👍 Good job Stef Two for two and no f-bombs 😆

Yeah the stiff brim and the cinch system works nice, but the airflo is an awesome hat regardless! I assure you, it's sheer luck that no f-bombs in here LOL it's older footage... No guarantees but I'll keep trying my best haha Cheers bud, thanks a bunch 💪🇨🇦👍

YES! I don't mess around with sun protection! I work outside all year, so it's really tough to properly protect myself from the sun. All the guys at work gave me crap the first year for looking like a safari guide LOL but you know what, the next year one of them grabbed a matching airflo and now he understands why I wear it; no more crazy neck/ear/nose burns! @@StefOutside smart! I wish I would have used more protection at a younger age too... I'm constantly outdoors, now I own sun shirts, hats with pulldown shades etc.. geeky looking but I'm in the bush where no one sees me anyways. Have a great one.

I don't mess around when it comes to sun protection haha Working outside all day, I fry in the sun if I'm not careful so I figured I might as well get something with an awesome warranty and it would be the last hat I'd have to buy. Plus, I'm a sucker for Canadian companies lol. There are other good options of course, one friend really likes his OR sun hat, another goes for the cheap boonie hat method, and a third likes those heavy traditional ones that look awesome. Stefan my dad is an explorer and an adventurer like you and he swears by this style hat. Was thinking all you needed to add are the dangling corks from the brim to discourage flies, then you will resemble an Australian bushman....ayyyy….lol Always made my sisters and myself as children to wear such hats to protect our skin. Ohhhh that's not a bad idea with the cork! That's real cool, I'll have to try that out sometime. Yup, sun protection is KEY, I'm sure you know that better than most. The hat in my icon is actually my Tilley airflo which I mention in the video. I can send you the original picture, if you're interested, from 7 years back on one of my early canoe trips; It was my first experience walking a canoe through the rivers up to my waist and I'll never forget it. It's a really lovely outdoor hat. I think they omitted the stiff foam from the back as it was'nt needed there and to allow the back to flop down shading your neck ( allso to stop the brim looking like Saturn's rings ). I have a T3 and the snaps are in roughly the same position as the Paddler. I think the reason they dont place the " male " part of the snap higher is because they want a gently curve when the brim is turned up and snapped in place ( and not pulled sharply into place ). I think it's one of the priciest of the Tillys but for such high quality you'd expect that - just be carefull not too loose it or leave it behind somewhere.

Ahhh those are some good points yeah; I think you're right! I expected that Tilley would think the thing through, so I knew there must be reasons behind every choice. It is quite pricey haha, I almost lost it on a few occasions but luckily they made it float so I could retrieve it. I'm still quite happy with the hat and use it every chance I get, as well as my super wide brimmed Airflo for working outside in the sun. Cheers, thanks for watching and the awesome comment!

I like everything about the hat except the goofy florescent tail sticking out the back when the cord isn't being used. Does that cord rub your ears when it's placed to the back of the hat? I think I'd replace that funny bungee cord with a soft boot lace, as in the other Tilley hats. Use the bungee cord to snake the replacement, softer, less visible lace through. You could then stuff it in the crown with no trouble when it isn't being used. Put the slip knot in it just as in the other Tilley hats. It's a good review. Honest and with good observations.

Haha you know, you make some great points! The only thing I've noticed with the little tail thing is it tickling the back of my neck.... When its bug season and I'm constantly on guard, the neck-tickling does get old quick... I am a big fan of the classic lace in my Airflo, but the bungee just plain works better on the water both in ease of adjustment and retention in heavy wind. The trade-off is a bit less comfort but I guess to each their own, eh? The bungee is stitched into the hat but it seems to be only a small stitch, so it could probably be cut to snake a lace theoretically. Maybe I'll try it out someday! Cheers, thanks for commenting!

You snap up the flap on one side so you can draw your saber and not cut the side of your hat off lol! Enjoy your videos as always

Ahaha it does look like that, eh? I work construction though, so while I do wear that shirt to work I wouldn't say it's dressy haha I like the long sleeve button ups for sun protection. Plus it's easier to vent when it's hot! The colour of the hat I think is called 'olive'. Cheers!
