Great repair. Wonder if these are usb circuits or where are these issues coming from. Obviously Sony has messed up here with cheap parts or bad design. Seems very fragile since people aren’t intentionally sticking forks into usb sockets etc

alot of the issues your seeing is from the electric coming from where the console is being used most likely its hertz drops or spikes if it's not stable it will cause these problems but won't effect everything but it's a slow killer on tvs and consoles it won't effect a toaster or oven or fridge it's possible but very rare but I have seen this problem in old apartments and old houses especially old rental homes also cheap surge protector can do this to . how do I know been in the electric feild for 26 years seen alot and wiring shortcuts are a big problem with landlords trying to save a buck .

Where should I start with a short on the 12V? No heat thrown with thermal cam. I assume there's an inductor or something I should remove to tell if the short is on the power side or the CPU side?
@TheCod3r
Жыл бұрын
To be honest every time I've had a 12v short it's been where 12v is dead short to the APU. Injecting voltage causes the APU to heat up like crazy. Unfortunately that's the only time I've come across it on the PS5 😮💨

@@TheCod3r I appreciate the response. I guess I still have some hope since nothing got hot with injection. I'll pull some components and see if I can localize the short. Great content BTW, I watch your channel all the time.
That's why I never buy a new console before the 3rd or 4th revision, I learned it the hard way with the launch ps3 lol
it is a cheaper version ps5 they saved on the copper they use to move the heat from the apu and apparently they get a lot hotter while gaming.
