People always defend Valve by default due to the classics they made, but you can't deny that Steam has become more than most gaming platforms. It's literally a virtual economy/bank at this point, and when all this economy relies only on an outdated server-side anti-cheat, then issues are bound to happen. Also, the Steam support might be one of the worst supports ever.

In some situation, a good bot with the possibilty to help you can be better than a human who canno't help. Valve support don't help but not because they don't want to but because in most cases they can't.

Really well made video. I gets better and better and I rarely chuckle out loud but you got me with this one.

The thing is a skilled lawyer could actually build a case against Valve. Opening cases IS gambling disguised behind some frail arguments. They know that skins have actual monetary value, not just within their ecosystem. Buying Steam balance to open cases is no different than buying casino chips to play Roulette. Since in their view it's not gambling, they never released any information regarding the odds, which could also be a problem for them if it's been proven in court that loot cases are indeed a form of gambling. All you'd have to prove is that Valve is aware of the fact that people "cashout" skins and that they allow it to happen because their revenue drastically increased because of it. It's really not a difficult case to argue, but in the end it's all about how good the lawyers are and whether the judge decides to do something about it or not. I'm sure Valve made sure that all the legal loopholes are closed and that they are covered, but the question remains: are they doing enough to prevent it or they're holding back in order to protect their profits?

The problem that arises now is the market is huge valve have acknowledged and can't deny the fact skins are "worth" a lot of money as they knowingly stopped sites from p2p trading without the exploitation of their API, With a market cap of over a billion USD in skins I'm sure sooner or later the governments of some countries would look into these things and put a stop to it and CS skins will end up untradeable like we have seen with other games due to the financial implications it can bring

Honesty the only thing that Valve can be sued for is that they take a real payment and then give you a fake currently which can only to be used on steam or there platform. There is some kinda law about this but everyone that goes after valve goes about it wrong. Honestly the only thing this would do is make valve responsible when people get scammed because actual money is involved. This is the loop hole for not being sued. Think about it. Any issues over 1200 in property stolen would be a case. You know all the times people get scammed. Imagine seeing that shit in court all the time.

It's not against the law, it's in their TOS. Them giving you real money back would actually be way more legally complex. People getting scammed isn't on Valve either. It's like saying that Facebook should be sued because someone scammed you in DMs there.

This video feels very incomplete especially when your remember that in France they have the x-ray scanner for unboxing skins and in some other European countries opening cases is just banned. I personally don't know the exact situations that caused those rules changes but I feel like they were related to lawsuits.

Instead of waiting for the CCP to shut you down to enforce it, it’s better to avoid that altogether so the operation continues with the least resistance. Just use your brain for a second, Why would buff voluntarily shut down case sale despite cases being one of the most traded item? It’s a calculated move by a billion dollar company to avoid being on the radar of CCP. Company like NetEase and Tencent have to be the first to comply as they have the most market share and garner the most attention. Perfect world merely obtained the operation right for CS and is working as an agent for valve. Any changes to in game items are sorted between the government and valve, perfect world has almost nothing to do with it. So why don’t you understand the situation better rather than just reading some tweets and pretend to know everything?

You have to learn how to read between the lines in China as it’s a complete different environment. “Operational strategy adjustment” says it all. The forces behind cannot be mentioned, and they have to adjust as a large force is in play. The HR in China are trained professionally as to what can and cannot say. It would be their last day at job if they put any blame in CCP.

@@Danne_OW Influx of low-skilled, skin obsessed idiots that have no intention of playing the game, influx of speculants, gamblers and wannabe investors that only care if their money multiplies, influx of botters and several more cheaters then the game would have ever had without skins and maybe 10% to 25% of the current playerbase. A whole community that only wants operations and new cases instead of telling valve to make the needed changes to fix the game from its sorry state. Skins have single-handedly destroyed the love I had for the game and sadly because idiots only care for them Valve has effectively stopped caring for the older games which makes 1.6 and CSS unplayable. They even took CSGo from me. Its not about gameplay. Its about the culture those damned skins introduced. And if you don't see anything bad in that culture and want it gone then you are part of the problem.

Literally steam support workers are selling your data to scammers so that they can steal your skins and sell them on the same websites that every CS youtuber constantly shills.
