Ok well its possible you got hijacked then (through this method specifically - obviously, one way or another someone stole your stuff), my understanding is you need to wait at least 6 months to become vulnerable though. Of course that's just hearsay.

Great vid man! Kinda random and I doubt you'd see this, but I'm actually one of the few people historically to have had my account reverted from a scammed trade as well. Back in July 2014 I believe I unboxed a St MW Cyrex and ended up getting it stolen. Over the next few weeks everything got reverted, and since the person who stole my account purchased $250 in TF2 keys while owning my account, those got refunded as well. So I had everything back, as well as $250 sitting in my Steam wallet which no charges to my credit card. They made it very clear in their message to me that it was a one time deal, but I couldn't believe it all went down like that. I got insanely lucky

I used to have a old account back when I played when dlores were $500 I had 3 and a howl around $30000 in inventory today. decided to go back to it last year and couldn’t log in and valve wouldn’t do shit. I figured it was cause I hadn’t logged in for 8+ years but probably got hacked.

Great video tho always a great watch. Editing is always comfortable as well.

My account got hacked in 2020 and lost what was worth some $11000 in skins at that time. I played some games one day. The next day I opened steam to find my name, profile and lots of settings changed, and most importantly empty inventory😢 I was and still a casual player and never logged into any third party site with steam account, not even faceit, and i also had the 2FA actived. None of that helped! And steam support did absolutely nothing about it.

@@abdullaalnuaimi3678 Apparently because the way they give you back your items is by duplicating them (probably so whoever bought the stolen items doesn't lose his money ? idk) but people noticed it and abused it to dupe expensive skins, so they don't do it anymore.

It seems like they are still happening. TF2 scene saw some big players get hit as well as a sizeable trading site. Just today an OG very inactive collector got all his stuff stolen.

There is pretty new situation with steamsupport. One Ukrainian twitch streamer Evelone got community ban recently, he was trying to manage this with steam support but nothing happens. Than one day account was stolen and community ban was removed. After couple days situation was solved and account was returned with all skins and without ban. But there was rumor that someone from support is behind that hijack

what is more annoying of the situation is when u post on the community to make them aware and all valve worshippers fanboys come and roast u instead for losing your skins blaming the owner itself

Hey Heyzeus, after watching this video it actually connected the dots about me getting scammed. My account was hacked into by two people in October 2023 and traded all of skins to my friend on steam, but it was a completely different account with the same information as my friend. So its definitely still happening, I only had about $1k in skins, but still suck.

How did such a hack look like, bc someone once was logged into my steam account and pretended to be a steam supporter who compromised my account... i never had an api registered and never logged into other websites i did not know.. also i did not get any mobile authentificator messages :/

I wonder if this is how I got hacked years and years ago. Had 2 step verification to my phone. And in real time right in front of me while I was playing I got hacked and somehow they switched the primary verification device to another without me even confirming. Lost about $800 in skins at the time so a few grand now.

Because he is well known. If his account was targeted, then it would generate a lot of attention. If it happened to you, then there wouldn't be much you could do about it because your voice can't generate a lot of attention. In conclusion, if it would happen to him, he would probably get all his stuff back, if it would happen to you, there is not much you could do about it. He is just trying to prevent this by telling everyone what is happening. Btw, I'm not defending Valve, because stuff like this should never happen. Sadly, we can't do much about it.

i got scammed a couple years ago. lost 15k in shit... i took a break for about 2 yrs roughly... give or take a couple months.... and all my shit was gone... but what was fucked... is the first time i tried to "comeback" and game... first attempt to login on MY pc, failed.... RED FLAG. WHEN i finallly got in thanks to steam support ticket.. all my shit was gone.. profile was blank. THEY DID NOTHING... fuck steam.! AND FUCK GABEN. i used to steam account as an "nft" bank account.. so that i could move back to the usa. that idea went out the window.

I had my cs inventory wiped clean in a hacked trade (who trades everything for nothing in return?). I had proof of everything, including the culprit. All I could do is stare at my skins in the culprits inventory while steam did nothing. All respect lost, as well as over 2k worth of skins.
