Well, the author is a huge fan criminal mysteries and historical crime cases like Hinterkaifeck murders (those inspired this scp to a large degree). So that's where the things like the fingerprints and the old crime records come from. The author essentially wanted to create a murder mystery monster that has accidentaly inspired the krampus/santa folklore. And to quote him on the things that happen to children in this article: "Thing is, when I write horror, I always write about stuff that scares me personally, and harm coming to children is literally to scariest thing I can think of - I'm not a parent, but I'm an uncle and a godfather, and the idea of harm befalling the children I'm close to is one of the very few things I find too distressing to even think about. And that's what makes this such potent horror fuel for me (for this reason, this almost certainly won't be the last time I write about bad things happening to children)."

I thought it was inspired by Krampus, the Germanic Christmas Demon that hunts and kidnaps bad children. Knowing that this SCP was based on a real serial murder case is terrifying.

Well you all ruined a classic christmas jingle for me. Now i will get scared, every time I listen to it now.

Alicia was having a good time with the SCP, and just as I expected, Alicia's mood changed when the interview happened. That interview is always is hard to listen to, and is so well acted that it feels too real!

The moment I saw this video the only thing I could think of was... "Sorry Alicia... but you're about to ruin winter and Christmas for yourself... we really are sorry."

Because you talked about the "IRL Yandere" stabbing. The guy who got stabbed WAS actually super into the girl, but she got unreasonably jelous because he was a host, which is kind of insane, since she herself was also a hostess (thats how they met, they had the same job and worked close to one another). The guy who was stabbed did in fact survive, and he also insisted that the girl that stabbed him did not get charged with any crimes, so the girl is effectively walking free right now.

Whoever recommended this to you should feel bad, but dear GOD was it funny 🤣

If I remember correctly, one of the main inspirations for this was an old mythological character from Germany and other norse or gothic countries. The being is Krampus. Picture this: you live in a village, frozen with sheets of snow, baked treats and hand-carved wooden toys lining the displays of stores, and many children are being horrible. Stealing pigs or fowl, breaking younger kinder's toys, and throwing eggs at the Burgomeister's house. Then, during the nights leading to christmas, the clopping of goat hooves can be heard on the roof, the smell of sulfur and ash permeates the home, chains rattling behind the bedroom door as the house grows colder than the flurry outside. As you peak above your covers, you see this horrific figure on the roof next door. The horns and distended teeth of a ram, drooping musky fur covering the head save for the face, red eyes burning beneath a furious and angered scoul, and a long snake like tongue protrusing from his maw. The next morning is adorned with the screams and mourning wails of mothers and fathers running out with pitchforks and rifles. The child that insulted his grandmother, the child that spat in her food, the child that kicked his dog; all missing. One child that skipped on his chores found in the bed, shaking in terror and beaten bloody. But you, you behaved and did as you were told. You split the wood and helped grandma to bed, you helped clean dad's hunting tools and mom in the kitchen. So what do you get? At the foot of your bed, a small red box with a wooden train inside. A masterwork with beautiful red, yellow and black paint. Santa came to reward you, but those kids... they were bad; they misbehaved. As such, Krampus came to punish them or even take them back to his cave to eat them... or worse. So remember kiddies, be nice or the big scary goatman is gonna beat you with chains, bag you and make you into his christmas feast.

Scp 001 When Day Breaks by Mr. Illustrated would be a really good scp to react to. A world ending scp that gives you a fate worse than death. Granted it's a 2-part video but Mr. Illustrated does a good job with the scp, and even made multiple videos of scenarios involving Scp 001 When Day Breaks

Whoa didn't expect this! If you like apocalypse stories and mystery i really recommend scp 5000 and scp 7004 by the exploring series.

I actually recommend she get familiar with all the SCPs mentioned in 5000 first. Like it won’t add a LOT but I feel like it would make it more excited to be able to recognize them

i always loved the way this scp is so excessively horrific that about halfway through its gets almost comical and then near the end it somehow does a hard u turn and circles back into being legitimately scary again

Maybe these rituals are about extending the Yule Man's life. I mean, he's seemingly immortal. Maybe cause of his killings?

Merry Christmas! Oh dope, was hoping we'd get another SCP. Also, two things id love to see you react to in the new year. There's God of War, if you havent played it. Maybe watch a plot synopsis of the Greece games and then try playing the two new ones. I think youd really appreciate it, from the characters, to the story, to the cinematography. Some of the best story telling in modern gaming. If you dont wanna play the game itself theres plenty of "movie versions" on youtube. Just have someone reccomend one, theres alot that cut out WAY too much. Cinepals just had that issue and it was disappointing. Then theres also the Breaking Bad. Same reasons, but also discussing the subject matter, i think you could provide alot of insight to the show. Although some things may be rough, its not a happy show.

you know, people seem to think that this couldn't be krampus because krampus punishes the wicked. but the yule man has been operating since the pre-roman Nordic Iron Age of 1st century bc. this is a figure who first appeared in a vastly different culture, during increased conflict with the Celtic Tribes and during the introduction of slavery of the region.not to mention this coincides with the cultural influence of the Roman Empire that had begun to seep into the Germanic Tribes, this yule man may just be Krampus through the lens of an iron age culture, with their values of 'Wicked' and 'Good' children applied.

Yes. This scp is essentially a pre-germanic entity that still operates and that has accidentally inspired both the santa and the krampus folklore.

At the end, I'm thinking of that Death Battle with Homelander vs. OmniMan. Right after OmniMan finishes the fight, he says in a flat, monotone voice, "Merry Christmas." That fight was also pretty f--ked up... 😱
