I believe this SCP was based on a nightmare the creator had when he fell off a skyscraper, hit the ground, started yelling for help, and the pedestrians walking by didn't even look at him while he laid on the ground in pain.

Since nobody brought this up for some reason, I think it's important to know that 1504 was _not_ the Keter that caused the nuke to be set off by killing people, that was his ability causing one of the researchers to forget to properly contain one of the other anomalies.

Yes, at that point he wasn't even really given an SCP-designation, let alone an object class. They thought he was almost entirely normal. I guess even their electronic security systems acted as if him walking around the site was normal and let him through, which caused them to start failing in general.

This reminds me of the mutant Forget Me Not. A mutant who's power is to be unnoticed, has been a constant ally to the X-men and saved the world countless times. A mutant who's power is so poor of control, Xavier had to make a psychic mental note to remind him that he exists so that he wouldn't be alone.

This story actually has a possible happy conclusion that can be extrapolated. Although it took a nuclear stunt and a lot of people to die for it to happen, it seems like the foundation can now break through the perception alteration abilities at least somewhat, which means they may be able to properly communicate with him for the first time should they find him again, and considering he's immortal and the foundation has limitless resources, it should happen sooner or later!.

It does need to be kept in mind that the guy resorted to absolute depravity. It's difficult to consider if even SCP-999 would be able to assist to begin with if SCP-999's reactions are the same. To begin with, imagine if he associates the horrible things he does with happiness due to the presence of SCP-999 and shifts it from desperation as a motive to seeking fulfilment as a motive, similar to how some cases of anti-depressants can cause you to no longer resist your intrusive thoughts because it has blocked the negative feelings typically associated with those thoughts? Not that it would alter the results right now, this guy basically has already caused widespread chaos, mayhems and deaths and is the direct cause of a nuclear explosion. And you already know that he isn't going to be using his powers for good either, he could easily be deciding to be altruistic and decide to just do good for others, but instead is seeking validation of his existence instead of letting his actions become the foundation of the evidence of his existence. Now that said, considering his unnatural state, he likely has had an upbringing far more alien in concept to what most of us have had, as such it becomes very difficult to properly empathize with what he is going through because it is so different from what a normal upbringing could be. I mean, how does one properly imagine growing up being acknowledged but forgotten and ignored by absolutely everyone that exists? You'd be in this weird schrodinger case of being half existing because you clearly exist and are tangibly changing the world with your presence and your presence does get acknowledged in the immediate moment, and you can have logs of you existing. But you also do not exist because your every direct actions have no object permanency in the minds of every other living beings. It's a horrifying being to have an existence, and it's a horrifying existence to have.

There's several SCPs that can all be described as "Totally normal human, but there's something horribly wrong that isn't their fault, and now they are living in hell." So sad. But at least I can be happy knowing I'm not them. As usual I'm going to suggest you check out SCP-882, SCP-217, SCP-2406, and SCP-2309.

'The Exploring Series' (which is actually a channel) also covers SCP stuff (but also Warhammer, Star Wars, LotR, the Cthulhu Mythos, Greek Mythology, D&D, the Elder Scrolls, etc...), although with a different style from TheVolgun, and his 'Exploring the SCP Foundation' is great! He doesn't just cover single entries; he also covers SCPs that appear in multiple entries, giving us the larger picture. Here are some of the most well known and prolific topics and also a few of my favorites; The Scarlet King and the Children of the Scarlet King Mekhane and the Church of the Broken God Yaldabaoth and the Sarkite Cult SCP-5999: This Is Where I Died SCP 701: The Hanged King SCP 1000: The Children of the Night SCP 6140: The Daevite Empire (and SCP 140: 'A Chronicle of the Daevas') SCP 354: The Blood Pool SCP 3989: The Bone Orchard SCP 610: The Flesh that Hates SCP 2718: What Happens After SCP-2480: An Unfinished Ritual SCP 4000: Taboo SCP 4971: Rituals SCP 2845: The Deer SCP 6002: All Creatures Great and Small And many, _many_ others :)

Communication method, pressure based key pad in a seperate room from the SCP, if precived in its presence effects whats normal the distance and indirect communication method should allow it to be unfiltered, second to put a wall sensor with letters that record what was pressed the reason it is different would be the inability to fake or distort 1,2,3,4 and then just following what letter was physically effected by the scp, if he can punch then he can effect objects just fine

What's' so great about each SCP is that different SCPS have different themes. There are SCPs that are fake-outs, SCPs that are straightforward but the victims it sacrifices provides the plot twist, or there are SCPS that are straight up 4th wall breaking. It's a different flavor for different files, and that is what makes SCP fun.

This guy and that baby that kills anyone it touches are both so tragic to me. Like this guy comes across as rude or whatever, but imagine how messed up his childhood development was from this affect? He can't be seriously harmed or die, but they say blunt force trauma to the head can incapacitate him, so clearly some amount of damage is possible. What if he got hurt as a kid and couldn't get anyone to help him? What if he was sad or scared and wanted comfort and no one would hug him? Hell his parents may have fully forgotten he exists and he just lived in their home with them always ignoring his existence. That would mess with developing social skills so much. It's a wonder this man is any kind of sane at this point.

@08:24 I've never heard of Halothane before. I've seen Halon gas fire extinguishers. iirc they use a fluorinated carbon gas to push all the oxygen out of a closed space. I guess they used it for the same reason they used CFCs in refrigerants at one point; they should be fairly inert gasses. Something about the fluoride or chlorine, etc. holding the carbon with a deeper bond than say than natural gas. Wiki says they use Halothane as an anesthetic. Maybe those tighter molecular bonds mean they can displace molecules used in our internal chemistries? Perhaps it gums up some process required for consciousness to function properly.

Given how often "Sites" end up detonating their nukes, it would make more sense, if all of this SCP stuff where playing out between 1945 and 1992, as it was the time most nuklear testing was going on both in russia and USA. Instead of present day. As it would explain the pretty much constant nuke popping going on in the SCP world, and it all could be explained away as nuke testing in the SCP world so it wouldn't stick out as much.

Seeing as Joe Schmoe is a master reality bender, I wonder if Dr. Clef could actually be able to talk and listen to him. It's canon that he's immune to reality-bending effects, so he might actually be able to help Joe; would make for an interesting tale, at least, with Joe finally finding someone who can perceive him as a person.

I believe in the sky situation I don’t think any single person could blame him for wanting to die. He can’t have conversations with people literally can’t do anything at all involving people or living a life. Also, there is no way for him to control his powers at all. He isn’t gaslighting anybody. It’s a literally just whatever is affecting him that he’s doing it.

The fact that other developed countries I’ve been trying to consider this as well is baffling and frankly disgusting

this SPC is a good example of how the foundation's understand of an SCP changes. The foundation didn't KNOW what he could do and jsut thought he was just...a guy who couldn't be harmed or kill, hence thealternative title, ad then later they find out what he is ACTUALLY capable of and how difficult he can be to contain. There are a few other SCPS with that idea of "the foundation assuemd one thing only to learn the SCP is way different than they assumed", but this is the the simplest one.
