    "...ain't no Lorcin dawg" Lorcin is one of the cheapest handguns you can buy in the states. They are like $150 brand new. They are also garbage. Slim explaining to Cutty how the Sig Sauer is a top notch piece that won't jam on you or nothing like the Lorcin's do. BTW Sig Sauer is so reliable that the US Navy SEALs use them as their standard assigned handguns.

    Funny too since I figure Cuttys only experience with mag fed pistols in his day was probably old ass ww2 era 1911 and some cheap eastern bloc Czech shit, so I can see why he’d be concerned about jams. Then he gets handed a nickel plated sig sauer. And it’s a toss gun.

    Hank Clock Hmm, I have plenty of guns; and yet have never killed anyone, nor do I intend to. I sure wish you could tell me how I could hunt humanely with anything but my shotgun/rifle. I mean, I guess I could use a bow, but I'm not really a fan of watching an animal squirm and writhe while it dies. Not to mention, I've known hunters who literally rely on the meat they get from hunting; what right does anyone have to cut them off from their food simply because they have this silly notion less guns will reduce violence. (Yeah, the last part is controversial--but go to any income area that roughly matches the socio-economic spectrum of Euro nations? And you'll find the U.S.'s murder rate becomes even. The bulk of U.S. murders happen in the city, in extremely impoverished neighborhoods--it's not the guns, it's the economic conditions.)

    Cutty immediately knew the money was going to the girlfriend. Brilliant. You could see why Avon wanted him back in the fold. Could have basically been in Slims position and recruited tons of soldiers and easily defeated Marlo, but he had a change of heart. Cutty in his hayday going up against Chris would have been fierce. Cutty would have taken out Snoop and gotten to Chris and demanded to know where Marlo was. Chris wouldn’t have told him and the old Cutty, still driven by righteous indignation would have taken him to a vacant to show what Chris had done, got rid of him and then called the cops on a ‘tip’, bringing the heat to Stanfields crew. However, that was the old Cutty. Would have been epic though.

    You can see why Cutty was such a good soldier. He looked past the Bullets b-ball shirt and asked about the girlfriend. He clued into what was actually going on. Even Slimm didn’t pick up on that. If Cutty’s heart was still in the ‘Game’ he probably would have been the one to get rid of Marlo. Marlo would have just been another ‘player’ trying to ascend to the throne. Cutty quitting the game was probably the key to the battle between the Barksdale and the Stanfields, as the Barkesdales were short on staff and muscle. If Cutty doesn’t take out Marlo he probably kills either Chris or Snopp which turns the tide of war in Avon’s favor.

  • @dylanmorgan2752

    @dylanmorgan2752

    It all but wins the war in favour of Avon. I’d argue with Marlo basically being Avon 2.0 a short sighted idiot. Having A tier muscle like Chris was basically 95% of the reason he managed to grow to the size he did in the first place. That and the fact that Avon was behind bars and lost most of his best gunmen by the end of S1 were the main contributing factors to Marlo not being wiped off the face of the earth. Cutty would’ve made an amazing contribution obviously, and might’ve meant they actually hit Omar rather than cokey and dopey mag dumping into his grandmas church hat lol.

    sharpscr He's referring to a "Lorcin" pistol. Comparing a SIG-Sauer 226 to a Lorcin is like comparing a BMW to a Yugo. The Lorcin, Jennings, et al - these were the eponymous "Saturday Night Specials" - cheap, disposable handguns usually firing weaker calibers.

    I'm amazed by how much in depth firearm reference is in the show, like how Presbo shoots a wall cause of the chambered round, there were plenty of caliber reference in conversations, and even the Lorcin as you mentioned, which I wonder how many audience actually get it. That said though, they still made mistakes at times like pumping sound made by Omar with a double barrel shotgun, or him saying to Brother Mouzone he's got one in the chamber with a 1911 with the hammer not cocked.

    Another fuck up I caught on the show was Brother Muzzone saying he has a 120 grain .380 loaded in this PPK. .380's don't typically go over 95 grains... The highest grain I know in .380 is the Remington golden sabre in 102 grains.

    I think he said he did (he said it was of "his own creation"). Having looked at the gun again in that scene (kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZWGG3MRvltPdcsY.html) I'm not sure that gun is a PPK because it isn't tapered from the barrel to the trigger guard. I'm not a firearms expert, though, so I could very well be wrong. My limited understanding would indicate that a 120 grain load in a .380 would have a hellacious firing pressure. I checked, and if I'm reading this correctly, the largest load that can safely be loaded into a .380 ACP is a 115 grain (although, as MrChromeslide accurately says, 95 is about as big as you can typically get it). The upshot of all this is that, from what he said, if he's talking about the same kind of gun, he's firing a .380 ACP round with enough powder to feasibly crack the gun. "I hear them Walthers like to jump some" indeed....
