Betty is amazing! She isn't the oldest tho. She is somewhere in the middle of the 14(?) kids. She's definitely the family's caretaker and homemaker. It's especially sweet the bond between Betty and Lorraine. They all look out for Ray. I think that's why he seems so happy most of the time. They just accept each other just as they are.The bond they share is inspiring.

When I was young I was terrified of people who were mentally handicapped because I couldn’t read them! After a while you begin learning the cues and suddenly you begin to see them like anyone else! A good teaching lesson for young children (and adults), to help them overcome the fear (or misunderstanding) of those who are “different”! You did a fantastic job humanizing this family and hopefully others who don’t fit to the “norm” (whatever that is)!😀👍

I think they are in this predicament because sometimes they get "too close". If you know what I mean. I think the better take away is that Mark is expanding their horizons outside of their isolation. Not only that, he asks them questions about how they are feeling when doing activities. This is what is truly bringing Ray out of his shell, especially if you watch the bowling section from the Christmas video. I'm not saying that his family isn't loving and important. It definitely is. I just think that Mark is providing them with something that their ancestors never did.

Oh, my heart. Lorraine walking back to get her crown had me on the verge of tears and I don't know why. To think these folks were tormented and made fun of all those years when they had absolutely no control over the cards life dealt them is heartbreaking. I am so glad they're being treated well now and not being harassed anymore. I don't know if it's just me but Ray isn't looking very well...I can't pinpoint it but the light in his eyes just didn't seem to be as bright as usual and his coloring seemed different. People can call it exploiting all they want, he has done nothing but help this family. Not just money, Mark has shown this family attention and care that they probably have never experienced from anyone else. Also, I think he's done a lot more for them than what he shows us. Whether he makes money or not, these videos are to show that we may look different, we may have different opinions on things, different families, different backgrounds, but we are all humans. No one deserves to be judged on appearance, so many amazing people dress uniquely, but that doesn't mean they're a bad person, they just don't wanna be like everyone else.

The Wittakers seem pretty happy to see Mark & Lauren whenever I’ve watched them. I’m sure if they didn’t want to do it anymore they’d say so. But you only have to look at the positive reaction they got in Burger King from that guy. They are minor celebrities now which is far better than the alternative they possibly faced before which could have been staring and jokes. Now their community understands them feels connected to them and vice versa and are most likely proud of them.

Mark is wonderful and he’s helped his family beyond measure and you know what I hope he makes money. I hope he makes a lot of money. There’s nothing wrong with making money people, as long as you do it legally honestly and ethically then the more you make the more you can help the more you can give but there’s certain people in the world that think of someone makes money that someone else must lose money. It doesn’t work like that. I get aggravated when I hear things like that.

I just love Betty....and Lorraine is looking so much happier all the time.. I am so happy that you both do so many wonderful things for this family... I have been watching since you began filming, and you can sure see so much difference in them. I think they have just been waiting for someone kind to come and just be with them and do things with them, and not treat them like they some kind of side show. You can see that with some other filmers on here and they make me so mad...Thank you so much for everything you both do!

When I watch these, I can't help but smile. The Christmas one got me into the Christmas spirit, something I haven't felt in 7 years + when my parents passed. The way Timmy was calling out for his mama got me. Some people make this family out to be animals, but in essence they aren't too much different than a "normal" family. Bless you Mark, and the Whittakers.

Have you seen the SWU interview with prostitute named AMANDA RABB ? " THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS " The facility who swooped in and snatched up Amanda in its talons is named AURA. It's founded by LIMA JEVNEMOVIC. Amanda, IMHO, became a Guinea pig for the woman Lima Jevnemvic. The creator of the KZread channel THE SURPRISE WITNESS was able to gather A LOT of information on this Lima woman. Court records, conversations between her and SWU Mark Laita. Then strange enough he invited Lima to be interviewed by him on SWU. OMG !!!! Ever since I watched that interview my total respect for ML went from 10 to -0.000000000. It'sduringthis interview he revealed his true colors. Lima and Mark absolutely tagged teamed against THE SURPRISE WITNESS TV creator. These two clowns did Amanda so dirty...they were able to get Amanda's father finding a way to convince a judge that Amanda wasn't able to care for herself so her father pulled a Britney Spears deception in order to file for conservatories. He was granted on. It's was after that cowardly move that Amanda lost her freedom. Once her father obtained " ownership " of Amanda Lima was then able to slither her way to gain control of Amanda via Amanda's dad's conservatorship. The evidence I'm talking about is in the SWU videos on his website Lima and Mark are wolves in sheep's clothing. When I was watching THE SURPRISE WITNESS evidence videos were posted online and I had read and watched these videos it felt as though someone socked me in the gut to be honest. She trusted these people and they did her dirty. RIP AMANDA. NO ONE CAN BETRAY YOU ANYONE SWEETHEART. 😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤
