Not just the Whittaker’s. There are many people in need

I live in Beckley and have attended church with Lorraine and Timmy on occasion. I will testify that having Mark enter their lives has transformed them into an even closer bonded family unit. People around here used to overlook them and a few mocked them in the small community of Odd. But, their world has been expanded, made so much better as there has been so much more compassion and understanding from everybody who takes the time to see the pure organic love of these special people. Mark, you have done a great humanitarian thing caring about the Whittakers. I know I am not the only one who thanks you for all you do for them. God bless you and Loren. My heart is bursting with gratitude and love for all the effort you put into enriching their lives. One thing to add: Lorraine and Timmy certainly love the Lord. Lorraine will speak in church as she ‘testifies’. Nobody truly understands her speech but God certainly does! I love the Whittakers!! ❤

This is so amazing. I’m so glad that they go to find peace with God that’s all that they’re missing now they deserve a good rest after this life they have lived. They deserve some good rest for the Lord. Thank you for sharing the story because I was concerned if they have a relationship with God, I wish I could meet them one day. I am in the DMV area. I’m from West Virginia. I used to live 20 minutes from these folks. I have to say, the way Mark treats these human beings is amazing . I’m glad you came into their lives. You are making great memories for them and with them. You can tell a relationship has formed and I believe they love you Mark. @anonymousone_of_many768 did you know these people personally or how did you know about them? Was it just people around town talked about them? I'm surprised they have a bowling alley because I live in southern Maryland and there isn't anything to do here. We used to have a bowling alley but it's been closed for years, so now there's literally nothing to do here that doesn't also exist in all other states like just a library and fast food places. I just thought West Virginia was so much less expensive than Maryland because supposedly there's nothing to do in West Virginia, but they seem to have more than we even have here. It's so much more expensive here though and there aren't any blue collar jobs here. It's just all government jobs which are hard to get.

The best part is when ray gets so excited over bowling the ball he doesnt see the pins falling down 😂

When Mark asked Timmy what he wanted for Christmas and he just shrugged! So cute lol I think Timmy is just happy to be out and about shopping!

When Ray was hugging that teddy bear and smiling so big I teared up. Thank you Mark for all that you do.

It seems that they wont be getting any help from SWU anymore due to some gen z scumbag who pretty much slandered mark. Mark gave so much money to the whitakers and no one stood up for him. And the whitakers bled the GFM dry and the nowt left.

Several yrs ago I watched a cable show that remodeled peoples homes while sending homeowners off for 3 days. They had 75(? ) tradesmen come in and work in shifts round the clock. The transformation was phenomenal!! Yes, the Whittaker’s need that show!

The progression of this family is remarkable. I watched an interview with two brothers who said they were so scared of people before you came into their lives they would throw rocks at people and cars. To see them happy and accepted makes me know that good people still exist. Please continue to be a part of their lives for a long time to come. Not just for us viewers but for them. They truly love you and your girlfriend.

Timmy needed to go down the stationary/school supplies aisle! Load him up with pens, pencils, markers, notebooks, coloring books etc. He would have a field day. 💙

The friendship and love were long solidified by then. He's not exploiting them. Mark himself and viewer donations have helped this family tremendously.

I don’t think completely understood what the go fund me truly was and the amount there was. She just knew there was money and she could use it. Her brain just doesn’t fire off as fast and she might not have understood when he said house and that when she said there was no funds left she might not have thought it was important to mention they spent it already

I love seeing their smiles. When Timmy picked up that sweater, which wasn’t his, he was so gentle and happy ❤

So much good & bad here. I loved seeing Timmy, Ray & Lorraine enjoying themselves bowling & the joy they had putting up the tree. Larry & Kenny are opportunists if you ask me. Now they are hanging out at Walmart/bowling with the others?!? Then once home BJ & some guy come by. I’m sure Larry let her know what was going on so that she can get $ from Mark. It’s sad bc Mark’s intentions are good, but you can see the others are out for self. Then, no one even thanks Mark. WTH? Larry kicking the dog pissed me off.

The highlight of this video was seeing Larraine cheering at the bowling alley. I've watched most of these videos and I remember a time when I didn't think Larraine could express emotion let alone communicate verbally. Mark, can you do a Go Fund Me for a team of professional cleaners, professional organizers, new bathroom and lots of storage for everything that belongs in a bathroom, lots of new towels, and a double sink. Make into a bedroom of whats behind the other curtain, lots of storage in that bedroom, new flooring in the entire home, replace old couches with new, cushioned booth along the wall, new dining room table and chairs. I think if everything was picked up and organized, they would have room for a couple more recliners. I know it wouldn't stay that way but it would sure be nice for Betty.

At one point walking through Walmart, Betty looked like the mother duck making her way through the aisles followed by her baby ducks, staying close, parodying her every move. There were some sore backs and a well bruised bowling lane by the end of that day but the joy just explodes through the screen. And love. Ray's hug for Mark when home was just priceless. This is what Christmas is all about. In times where the world feels like its going to implode, these moments are even more valuable. Bless you all.

I’ve watched every one of the videos with Mark and the Whitakers and at no point did I ever notice any of the Whitakers ever saying "thank you" for anything. I know some of the family members like Timmy, Ray and Lorraine don’t understand the concept of money. Most of the others are fully capable of understanding Mark’s generosity, and should express some gratitude.

Wow, what a difference! They all look so much happier, energized, and more healthy than the first Walmart shopping spree. It made me sad to see the poor black dog get kicked, though.

Mark even if certain members of the family do things that hurt your feelings or you dont get told thank you enough just please remember its all about Ray, Timmy and Loraine. I promise you they absolutely adore you and your friend man. What you're doing for this family gives me hope thay maybe the world isnt so bad all the time. I have a medium/big size family and nobody is close anymore. Everybody fights, argues and doesnt even speak most of the time. The Whittakers take care of each other like family is supposed to. Thank you Mark for truly caring about the Whittakers and changing their life for the better. Thats what its all about man fr. Ive always felt better helping and giving to others.

I know you do so much for a lot of people Mark. You let people tell their story and actually listen to them. That you help them financially, give some of them a warm safe place to sleep. That you give your time, resources and friendship. I don’t know if you know the impact you’re making or if you ever feel that you’re unsure of what you’re doing but if you ever do I hope watch back the moment where you tell Ray he could have that bear. His smile and happiness by your kind simple act was really a beautiful moment. I hope you see that and how much he cherished what you did for him. I also want to say thank you for putting a light to what most of society would rather keep in the dark. Your work is important and powerful.

Seeing them grow personally is the best gift, Mark, you truly helped them get the support and love they needed. To see them grow to trust and gain human connections is remarkable. They shut themself off because the world was cruel, but now. they have so much love from so many people. Truly amazing and heart warming. EDIT: So amazing that you take them to Walmart to get presents and they chose clothing, and Kenneth was worried about the price, such great people truly. They dont need much to keep happy and are satisfied and appreciative.

Mark is an amazing soul ! Not only is he a strong advocate for this loving family he pours into each one of them with his time and energy! His presence in their lives has enriched and encouraged each member of this family!! They are having fun and exciting experiences they never would have had the opportunity had it not been for Mark !! The first Walmart trip was a joy to watch because they got the things they needed & it was nice to see Mark start changing their lives for the better. This video was a whole other story. Betty has become greedy. Kenneth was always greedy seeing as how he had nothing to do with them until he found out they were receiving money. Betty all of a sudden could walk fast and dart up and down aisles throwing absolute junk in the cart(s)! Then we have Kenneth throwing in his stuff in & letting Mark know he wants HIS candy in a separate bag. Its trivial but its also just examples. Instead of buying life size teddy bears, how about buy bath towels, a toilet scrubber and some damn bleach?! Priorities I suppose. They say money changes people, this shows it even changed the Whitakers. The ones that know whats going on for the most part. Betty also used to be friendly, shes become a grouch, snappin at everyone (poor Lorraine) & even Mark, who, btw, has the patience of a saint! And now with the new bs going on, Betty lying about money, Kenneth & Larry bugging Mark for money, buying truck after truck bc neither one can drive. Its just all changed my opinion and Im sure plenty of others. All that money and they couldnt have bought bathroom flooring?? Or perhaps a bed or even a cot for Betty?? Yet Kenneth got the new trailer/shed beside this dump. One of them needs to clean the shit off that toilet. If not one of them, then Larrys daughter! Id bet he gives her plenty of dough. Gotta have money to buy that ice cream somehow. I said what I said.

It brought tears to my eyes at the end when Timmy said (and for the first time ever I understood exactly what he said) “Aunt Betty,….. we need a star”…..Timmy has come so far since you have been visiting….it just proves that everyone needs physical contact with others outside their home. I believe at first he even said "angel" We're all focused /remembering the last hour, the Walmart and the xmas. How can we forget rays excitement bowling, how about timmies 🤦head grab and 😔 sigh after his would miss the pin! Fantastic I couldn't click fast enough. So so much to set in how intelligent they actually are, Lorraine and ray understood what the string/hook on the ornaments did, and I never would guessed they'd be able so many things, ray understood "you gotta pay first" sure ray took it literal that he had to but he went up and knew. I woulda watched them bowl for 1.5 hours.

This is what I’ll miss. Watching them enjoy something as simple as bowling. They had such a great time. For a little while they laughed, clapped & screamed with so much excitement I had tears in my eyes. They deserve the love and laughter. I hate that we won’t see them anymore going for haircuts, shopping or just hanging around the house. I truly love them to bits. They didn’t ask to be this way. You showed them nothing but respect & for once they were able to have really nice things & were cared for. I wish them all the best. 🙏🏻♥️😢💔

Ray loves his shoes, teddy bear and that monster truck and so excited Santa Claude is coming!

It literally warms my heart to see the Whittakers so happy and enjoying the holiday season. Mark and Lauren thank you so much for what you do and making their Christmas so wonderful! The transformation this family has undergone since your first videos is so amazingly stark. The last couple minutes of this one had my heart swelling big time. Lorraine talking and asking for help to put the ornament up. Ray shouting about the Christmas tree and just being GIDDY and besides himself when Santa's mentioned. You're a blessing in their lives. Thanks for introducing us to them in the gentle way you have over the years. Each and every member of that family LOVES you two!

God bless you for looking after these folks. I’m originally from WV and sadly there are so many families in Appalachia that face the same hurdles. The poverty in our own country is immense, yet we send trillions overseas to countries who hate America and its people.

I cant tell you how much I was cheering them on. They loved it. ❤

If the world had half of the joy that Ray and Timmy has all the time, the world would be a better place! It’s easy for people to judge them but actually, people could learn so much from their attitudes.

Me Too!!!! I kept saying, Timmy needs some new coloring books,crayons & markers! He is such a good artist! And Ray would look good in suspenders, he may like them better than a belt❤. And precious Betty kept looking out for everyone else's needs. I was glad Mark got her that lovely warm wrap. Lovely Lorraine loved the Christmas sweater,looked so good on her! Lorraine is so sweet, ray is a ledge , Timmy is such a character , betty is just so strong and caring. Ashamed to say when I first came across this family they repulsed me but oh my days , I have grown to love them. Watching them evolve has been so heart warming. My 10 year old daughter walked up to me the other day while I was watching one of these videos and asked what I was watching. I told her that these were people less fortunate than us, and the man is making these videos to help raise money so they can buy a new house. She recently lost a tooth and said she wants to give her tooth fairy money to the Whitakers😊. These people bring joy to people's lives and they will probably never even realize it.

@@colindavid2078 you don’t know that they’re not grateful. maybe Mark simply doesn’t edit Videos to where they’re thanking him, you have no idea. These are just tiny little glimpses into their life. Definitely not the whole picture at all. Maybe Mark doesn’t like to be thanked for things that he feels he should just be doing. I wouldn’t want somebody constantly thanking me if I’m just trying to help them. That’s not why you help people and honestly I would feel weird if I kept getting thanked over and over and over again. And maybe the Whittakers are embarrassed, and reluctant to even take the help to begin with I mean, there’s seriously could be 1000 reasons why you don’t see them say thank you in these videos, not because they’re not grateful.

That’s a very honest perspective. I perhaps would have the same impression at first tbh as well. It truly is a teachable moment for us to not judge. This family is the sweetest, most harmless family. It warms my heart to know how much love & support they have. And are very much protected!! I wish I were in a position to somehow help financially. It’s so great Mark was able to gain their trust and is now essentially a great friend who brightens their life as much as I’m sure the Whitakkers do for him. Love this family, especially Ray 🥰

Reminds me of the people from "wrong turn" or "the hills have eyes" but let me take a look at the video.

My family is from the mountain area of North Carolina. My mother, a very benevolent woman, from time to time encountered people who reminded me of the Whitakers .She always tried to help them with the things that they needed and encouraged me to show kindness and generosity when I was able to. She also taught me that these people did not need to be harassed or made fun of, or their living conditions criticized. She would encourage me to do what I could for them and then move on to the next family that we encountered. The main thing she encouraged was to be compassionate and kind. When the time come that we had done all we could do, to go in peace❤

The whole situation is a shame. I feel Mark really grew to care about this family. Ray will miss him the most if this all comes to an end!😢😢

This is the BEST Christmas present. Thank you for loving them.

I love watching these videos! The kindness and pure love is there and it makes me have hope. Too many people would rather make fun or look the other way. Thank you for being a kind soul. We need more of this in this day n age.

Seeing Betty pick out the ornaments was my favorite. It seems like she's excited to have a tree and wants to make it look nice for her family 🥹. I feel like she never wants to take anything away from her siblings so she goes without things she may want. Like mark picking out the shawl for her. Since it's not a need, she would never get it unless someone insisted. She's so sweet. They all are.

Betty you have no shower here. ... " I know!"..…😂 I'll be honest, that bathroom wasn't as bad as i expected. I think Betty does the best she can and the disrepair is no fault of hers. The tree is so sweet. I hope they had a wonderful time. And their Christmas is jolly and bright and overly blessed with good food and making memories that last forever. A great day was had by all. Filled with laughter, love, kindness and beautiful friendships.

It's so sad that 2 somewhat normal ppl would continue to keep having children knowing they were causing them to horribly disabled and knowing you won't be around till they all are old and it would be own themselves to try to take care of each other when only one or 2 of all them siblings are even barely above the mentally disabled and left to take care of a house full of the others that are very mentally disabled. Its sickening that 2 ppl who knew what they were doing would make the choices to keep having kids knowing they are causing them to be so mentally and physically disabled...

It is so crazy to think about when Marc first started visiting the Whitaker's and how quiet and shy they were. To now where Marc can understand what Ray and Timmy are saying and they all are so much more outgoing!
