If he had simply called the so-called funeral home to tell them that he would pay associated fees for the funeral, then this abominable creature who calls herself his daughter would not have been able to pull off the scam on the one person in the world who took an interest in their family and has bettered their lives exponentially. I have met Mark Laita’s sister and kinder person and a the Laita’s are honorable people. One of the reasons Mark began this channel was because he wanted to try to help people in a small way, and in the effort of helping marginalized people, he wanted to shine a light on the circumstances that some people find themselves. It was a way to help people avoid making similar mistakes. Shame on this woman for doing this!

I’m from WV and started to see right through these people once all the random family members started showing up. Because the same thing happened to me and mine. I got out and made something of myself and that’s when I had my dope fiend cousins (that I hadn’t heard from in years) asking for “help”. It’s like feeding a stray cat, you do it once they’ll keep coming back. Betty is just as guilty as BJ. She knows right from wrong. Good on ya for putting them on blast Mark.

Why would you ever give them money? If you want to help them, use that money to hire someone to come in and clean the home out, paint and repair what needs to be repaired and buy them some new furniture. Otherwise the money disappears down a rat hole never to be seen again.

Mark, you are better than most people. After Betty *BLATANTLY* lied on you, you still chose to come to their rescue. That speaks volumes of your character.

I was one of the donors. They can keep the money. If it means Ray, Timmy, and Lorraine got a meal, it was worth it. The bad and good you put out into the world will come full circle eventually. As one of the donors, I believed I was giving to provide this family with a decent home. I don’t blame you Mark but I’m sad that the money wasn’t set up in a trust with a local lawyer in charge of administering funds. Why in the hell would money just be given freely to them in the first place? They don’t have the first clue about money management🙄 If the money is supposed to help them to get better housing, why don’t they have it yet? Are they trying to say the $150, 000+ that’s already been given wasn’t enough to get a new house? None of this makes any sense, smells pretty fishy all around.

I'm just now catching up on all of this.. I started watching the continuing story/portrait of the Whitaker family just a few days ago and wow.. what a horrible turn of events! I feel badly for Ray, Tim and Lorraine.. their mental faculties are such to where you know they couldn't have had a clue of what was happening. Kenneth looks like he genuinely didn't know either. Did Mark know that Larry wasn't dead though? Mark asked Betty and Betty said Larry had died. And Betty is Larry's sister, so I guess I would not believe that someone's SISTER would lie or not know that they died. Example, if my brother told me he found out that my sister had died and I contacted my mom and my mom ALSO confirmed that my sister had died. Then I would have no real reason not to believe that my sister had died. Even though my mom is shady and lies about things sometimes, you would have to be pretty evil to LIE about someone dying.

Ill always help people, but I have had to set firm boundaries, because the majority of people who Ive helped/help are homeless and have been and probably always will be, because they show you, rather fast, why. They have almost certainly burned every bridge, thoroughly. It sucks and I still feel bad for them, but I have to make sure my home and family are safe before anything and I was, at one point, really putting myself out there, inviting people in my home, and unfortunately, Ive been screwed over, more often than not. Can’t believe the money was just given to them. $100,000? That money should have been in a trust and gotten out for them for their different needs. People who never had money and people who have special needs need assistance with spending money, especially large amounts of money. I would not send BJ $2000. What I would do is pay for her to go through rehab, but I would not give the money to her. You cannot just give money to an addict.

Larry was in on it too. It’s obvious the way he reacted when he got out of the truck and Mark said “is that the way to dress for your funeral “. Larry says calmly “I don’t know nothin about that”. A normal response from someone not knowing anything would be like what the hell are you even talking about and being surprised and not understanding the question. Larry’s been in on it. He didn’t even live across the road from them until Mark starting coming around and helping the others. I didn’t trust him or the rest of his clan when the first started showing up. Kevin is the most trustworthy person in the family other than Timmy, Loraine and Ray who are just kind souls who are clearly clueless about money and drama

I just love watching Ray. He’s a good guy. I watched one of these videos where he was showing where some of his relatives were burried and he was sad. In another he was showing mark veggies he planted. He’s a proud man. He’s kind and he’s grateful for all Mark has done. He shows him his new things as if to say thank you. He’s expressive and helps everyone as best he can. For him to only grunt I wonder what his childhood was like. Was he left alone all the time with just the dogs as company. Hes the only honest one in that family!

The sad part is Ray, Timmy, and Lorraine are the innocent ones and will suffer from the actions of the others. Mark, you're a good guy and it's easy to see you sincerely care.

I went through this with my wife 16 years ago. But now shes a living miracle that turned her life around and now works as a drug and alcohol addiction counselor with the court that she went through back then. And she just won the nami. Award for excellence in clinical care for butler county Ohio. Drugs can tear there life apart and cause pain one their family members I know from first hand experience but I’m grateful for the help my wife got when she was on drugs. Main thing is a spouse or family member don’t throw them away. I’m so grateful and proud of my beautiful wife for the passion and dedication she has too her clients.

Many families with addicts go through the same ordeal. Where people could easily point fingers and Betty and Larry I have sympathy for them as I know first hand how it is with a family member you love is addicted and the constant battle of saying no and caving in to the addicts demand for money to buy drugs especially with opioids and the sickness. It’s only something you can truly understand when it effects you personally

The fact of faking a death is disgusting and to someone that helped so much is beyond me But addiction is worse , it’s the most evil root.

The price is right playing in the background is insanely crazy and ironic.

I was wondering if it was just me or the bad omen that Ray wanted to show Mark the prices is right on the TV. Talk about crazy vibes.

On a lighter note, I've never seen Lorraine so verbal and interactive. Its good to see😊

The three who need the most help, Ray, Timmy and Lorraine seem to have benefited a lot from Mark's involvement which is good.

Based on the latest video, we now know Kenneth lied to Mark about BJ leaving. Kenneth probably bought that property down the road with Betty's money. My sympathy goes to Ray, Timothy, and Lorraine.
