You know it’s gonna be bloody when the literal first scene takes place on the beaches of Normandy. 🔥😂
I really enjoyed this movie! There's a theory that the wolf was trying to create a mate, notice when he attacks the couple, he injuries the boy, but didn't bite him, he bites the girl, when Thale comes, he also bites her and proceeds to kill the first girl. Maybe breeding wasn't successful with other species, so he had to create another one like him
The back story of this movie is excellent, I really like the way they introduced the wolf without a deep dive but still a good explanation!

I want a prequel! I want to see vikings trying to fight off a werewolf! THAT is the interesting movie concept. The whole movie should have just been the backstory! Heck I want to see historical warriors fighting off aliens and vampires and werewolves too! Imagine a samurai vs predator movie
I love that Tali has in her final transformation wears a red Hoody.
Setting aside our beloved anthropomorphic werewolves, I prefer this werewolf design rather than the usual husky or malamute look. The dogs used on some TV shows do not even look menacing because they're obviously not angry (which is understandable but nevertheless breaks immersion). You're pretty much looking at goodbois and goodgals trying to pass off as scary lol.

@@packking287 I tend to prefer the half wolf half man image myself. I think it's much more menacing than a full wolf form. My favorites were the werewolves of Van Helsing. Second would be the Lycans of Underworld. In some literature I've seen the idea of being able to choose which form a werewolf takes with the hybrid form being a kind of war form. I like that idea.

The best use of real domestic dogs as wolves was the Belgian Tervuren pack in The Company of Wolves, because the breed resembles super fancy werewolves irl. That movie made me get one and I always got asked if he was a wolf mix. The funniest was is that a wolf/Afghan Hound?
This is a good movie. Not too exaggerated, the creature itself looks good. Decently grounded in reality and not filled with uninteresting drama. A good watch for horror fans.

I will say I always enjoy werewolf stories blending in both myths and science it always makes for an interesting story. I will have to take a look at this film to see how it stacks up.
IDK why, but i love the design for these werewolves in this film. They just look so..........cute?
I agree about the 4 legged wolf. When you read about Dire Wolves and how big they were, it's scary. Add to that the fact that most bullets don't work! Terrifying
This is a superior version of "An American werewolf in Paris" that we should have gotten, but in Norway. This is a thousand times better.
I like this Werewolf design along with the big anthro wolf form too. Better than the ones who look like Bigfoot. Wolves and Werewolves are cool and Wolves are one of my favorite animals too. My favorite Videogame Werewolves are Sonic the Werehog and Skyrim Werewolves.
Reminds me of "Gringer Snaps Back" one sister is bit by wolf the other sister has to decide to help her or hunt her, another good Werewolf movie is the prequal "Gringer Snaps Back Origan" movie is full of great practical effects.

Personally I think Thale is still alive, especially since we got to see a scene where she still recognizes her little sister. @@callmemat1113 Yes, but we also saw that werewolf as a wolf cub, so maybe it was created with black magic (or whatever the wolf hunter guy said was their origin) from a human baby. That would mean it didn't have any memories from his human life, so it makes sense that it didn't have any humanity. Thale however recognized her sister and she was almost a fully grown human at that time...
Not gonna lie, a Werwolf on 4 legs is way scaryer to me, exactly BECAUSE it is like a normal wolf. It seems like a treat you could encounter in RL. Just like a wolf with rabis or so.

I recently watched this movie too and I was actually surprised at how good the CGI effects were! Interestingly the Werewolves in the novel The Howling by Gary Brandner are also depicted as large wolves, completely unlike the bipedal representation from the movie of the same name. I personally like the quadraped werewolf form. My favourite werewolf movie is An American Werewolf in London.
14:49 that screenshot right there looks very similar to the Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian scene: where the werewolf and Harpie are using Caspian to summon Jadia the White witch

same here! I've actually always preferred werewolves, especially the ones from underworld.
I love the idea that the original wolf is a hound of hell! it Would be cool if they related the wolf to Fenrir somehow but im satisfied with hellhound backstory as well.
Can you please do a video on the werewolves from The Howling 1981
Liv didn’t kill Thale. That bullet was still in its casing. Had it been fired, that wouldn’t have been the case. As for the breeding with other animals aspect, I think the hunter meant it would eventually seek out “normal” wolves to start a pack. However, once it started mating, the offspring would likely be supernatural as well. One problem I had with Viking Wolf is the depiction of the OG wolf. Not to sound like Roy Hooper, but the “bite radius” doesn’t add up. The damage it was inflicting was in line with a much larger creature, easily twice the size of what was seen. Since it was rendered in CGI, don’t know why they made it so small yet didn’t have the practical FX, depicting the damage it inflicted, line up with that.
@blaznskais2048
Жыл бұрын
Maybe it was a tie in with the myth of Fenrir. Starts off looking like a normal wolf pup and rapidly grows massive. That’s the only thing I could think. Cause the OG wolf looked like a pup when you first see it. Though obviously not a normal one.

@Charles Williams The hunter hinted that there are more wolves and they can travel in packs he just had a vendetta against this one because it was the oldest or it hurt him somehow.

I am so glad you reviewed this movie! I discovered it on Netflix, and loved it, but figured it would be poo-pooed by reviewers. I found the ending intriguing. It left room for a sequel, or not. I loved the wolf design. I prefer my werewolves in giant wolf form to a man staggering around in make up.

This movie must of been heavily influenced by American Werewolf in London
YO. Im a little late to watching this video some how. BUT you never need to apologize for the videos you make. Your content is always top notch.
I did enjoyed the movie. Some interresting stuff i noticed 1 The first person from the bar who get attacked is the fat bullie that earlier teased Thale. She might still rememeber that and choose him as a target. Also later she has his guts in her mouth and looks "Happy" 2 The bond between the sister was amazing 3 Its strange Thale attacks the mum. She clearly remember her sister and dont attack. Could it be because her hate of the mother making her angry? 4 Its obvious Thale doesnt want to get help from her mother even after killing Jonas, Her boyfriend. She is near the police station and looks for her mom before boarding the bus. 5 Some of the people in the bus may only have been bitten and also some other outside of the bar that survived. It may come more werewolves from that.
Honestly I think those are the best looking werewolves I've personally seen
