The Warning covers "Enter Sandman"!! ***See description for gear used on my channel!!

Музыка

First time seeing this cover of the Metallica classic by a VERY young The Warning! Incredible that they were only 14, 12, and 9 years old when they did this- shows how talented they are.

Luis (their father) sold his Harley, which was his dream bike, in order to raise the money to build this studio/practice space for his daughters. His sacrifice did not go unnoticed by Dany, Pau and Ale. They treat this area as special, out of a sense of gratitude for his sacrifice. Can you imagine? His girls were not famous. There was zero indication that they would make music a profession. Music was nothing more than a family activity that consisted of taking the girls to music lessons and watching concerts together, at this point. I would like to think that any father would do this for his children, but we all know that isn’t so. This family is something else!

Since you mentioned wanting to see some songs that show their evolution, maybe next check out their re-imagination of Enter Sandman they did for the metallica blacklist album with Alessia Cara. They had 10 days to re-arrange the song, record, produce, and get the song to them. The music video is great, but if you don't want to do a double reaction, just go to their live version at Teatro Metropolitan. Thanks again!

The second Pau hits the opening hi-hat you know she's for real, and she's all business. And then Ale's little prayer, and looking like she can barely support the weight of her miniature bass. And of course Dany's specialty - the well-practiced James Hetfield scowl - doing her best to hide the fact that she's actually just a dorky sweetheart. And all three destined to become huge rock stars.

Now you have to see the cover of Enter Sandman that they did with Alessia Cara (Canadian singer) for The Metallica Blacklist album (where a bunch of artists covered Metallica songs by invitation). They rearranged it slower, mixed it, and submitted it... in about a week. It starts slow, reminiscent of the original's outro and is haunting and perfect. The official video is visually cool, but as always... The Warning is most fun live, so the 8/22 Teatro Metropolitan CDMX live video is a great choice.

As 2 commentators have already suggested you can check out their official video of Enter Sandman reimagined as asked by Metallica (more specifically by Lars) and their Teatro performance of the same. Pasting below my earlier observation a few monthss back about the girls' instruments from 2014 & 2022 Teatro "The Warning evolution is best shown through Enter Sandman - 2014, 2021 & 2022 - like you did here. Over the past decade not only the girls have matured physically but also musically. And they are using top of the line instruments nowadays that remain a dream for many artists. Here is a lowdown of their equipment that you can see played live. 1st Ale's bass - Ale was gifted a custom bass by Spector when she was 15 in 2020!!! They called it "Alejandra Villarreal Spector USA Signature 5 String Bass" in "Ale's Inferno" finish. The red speckled finish was designed by Ale. Her bass has changed how The Warning sound. She has perfected the art of playing a tool crafted only for her with a "high action style" that makes her bass sound like a stretched spring with bounce. 2nd Dany's guitars- Dany is a PRS artist now. The unending sustain on her notes is typically PRS. Earlier she used to prefer Rick Toone's guitars - on loan mostly. Rick Toone couldn't sponsor Dany when the band signed up with Lava Records in 2020. Last year Lzzy Hale gave her a customized white Gibson Explorer which you can see Dany using here for Enter Sandman at Teatro. When The Warning were touring with Halestorm in 2022, Lzzy came on stage, knelt down in front of Dany and offered her a "real' guitar (Lzzy hates PRS). This June before the girls opened for Muse for the last time at Milton Keynes in UK Matt Bellamy gifted Dany a mustard yellow Manson guitar made specially for Dany. Matt owns Manson guitars. Apparently Manson has sponsored The Warning since 2015 after Coldplay tweeted their cover of Resistance by Muse. Incredible support from legends of the industry!!! 3rd Pau's drums- Pau has been sponsored by Sabian Cymbals since she was 11 or 12!!! She has been using Sabian cymbals & Remo drum skins since she was 6 years old. She plays a DW drum set with Vic Firth drumsticks. A few years back a Patreon, who didn't want to be named, gifted Pau a DW drum kit. Plus she uses a whole lot of gadgets with which she controls their live shows - kzread.info/dash/bejne/pZh-07urqtbMh8o.html&ab_channel=TheWarningArmy Absolutely incredible instruments mostly obtained by showcasing their talents. Producing good music is expensive business."

When this video went viral I ignored it, and then proceeded to ignore the band for 8 more years before coming across a live Short (Dany's Z solo) that forced me to finally give them a listen. From there the shorts kept coming, and when I finally watched the live Animosity video I was sold. I continued to ignore these earlier video because they're objectively not good, but every once in a while I come across a reaction like this and watch. One day I watched a reaction to "10 Year Old Girl Drummer- Paulina From Mexico - My Life Would Suck-Cobus Version", from two years prior to this one, and half way through the video I found myself with tears in my eyes. She was killing it. She has always played with that confidence and determination. She is very short at only 5'0", and is very sensitive about her height. Maybe because inside she's a giant. She always was. You have a lot of gold to hear from them before you get to an old video like that, but maybe keep it in mind for a rainy day. It's their 4th most viewed video for a reason.

Not knowing anything else they just do their job, stone-faced and grizzled, with a depth of wisdom in their eyes far beyond their years. They know no other life. Dany plays a Gibson Les Paul and has a Orange rig, Ale A Fender Jaguar and Pau beats on Yamaha. Yea, they had serious gear already from this young age. Their parents went all in supporting their daughters dream. Their dad sold his motorcycle and build them a studio and Moni their mother gave up dentistry to be able and follow her daughters around to all the venues they played. With that kind of support and love, it´s hard to go wrong. And all of them were raised and educated to be able to focus on their musical dream. In context, think of the average garage band at this age. Hell...at any age. I played in garage bands at 14. This is absolutely astounding. Dany playing a composite of multiple guitars while singing lead...at 14? Pau...well Pau is just from another planet. Then, there is Ale playing a bass bigger than she is and she's holding down a bass line that is really a composite of guitar and bass parts. The arrangement itself is actually pretty darn impressive, but playing at this level at that age? That's called destiny.

The concert was recorded so they had something to send to Berklee, demonstrating their abilities. To showcase their individual skill, each chose a song. Ale chose Hysteria (Muse), Pau chose Everlong (Foo Fighters) and Dany chose Crazy Train (Black Sabbath). They also played a few of their originals. So good.

They did the concert because they were under age for the program. At the time they applied, Dany was 14 and the minimum age for the program was 15. Dany was 15 when they attended. Obviously Pau and Ale were never going to make the age limit. So they had to show their skills. Also they attended a "child" program for a week before the regular Berklee adult program so the teachers could evaluate them. They all got into the adult program.

They did this in one take. As they were coming to the end they were saying to themselves "Please, don't mess up" because they would of had to start over. They have at this time only been playing together for 2 years. Ale has only been playing bass for 2 years. Ale is too cute doing the prayer. Though it isn't a stong bass driven song she was in the pocket the whole time. They prove you don't have to be decked out in black leather to play thrash metal. You may well do their ES for the Metallica Blacklist album with Alessia Cara music video and then the live performance from the Teatro Metroplitan concert. Finish the hat trick.

Life’s decisions have ripple effects that no one can predict, or even imagine. The only reason the world got to see this video, was because the video file was too big to send via email. This was recorded so that their grandparents could see the girl’s progress with playing together. The family uploaded it before leaving on vacation. When they returned, dad’s cell phone had been destroyed by the notifications of everyone congratulating him on his daughters viral video! Careers were born, and a legend begun with one fateful upload!

Now react to their live performance of this same song from their Teatro Metropolitan show to see how far they have come in 8 years.

I may mess up some of the details, but the story goes that this video wasn't intended for the public. The father wanted to send it to their grandparents, but it was too big to send as an email attachment, so he posted it to KZread just for the grandparents to see. The algorithm did its magic, and it blew up over night. The rest, as they say, is history.

Although I don't like this "Enter Sandman" - Cover they did with Alessia Cara it is funny how you can have a view at their evolution by exactly this song. First of all - I don't like their cover because of the reason it is bad, in fact it is really good. I don't like it cause they have so so many great original songs to present them in the way they are. But ... to fulfill this developement: a) The official video with Alessia Cara b) The live-version from e.g. Teatro Metropolitan c) The string-orchester-version - maybe get the one from the warning army 25/10/2023 - cause the sound is OK (it's not an official version - maybe this comes later ...) Anyhow - it's a fun ride ...

The remake the did for the 30 anniversary of the Black Album is amazing. Metallica asked them to change the song to whatever they wanted to and given only a week to get the song ready for the album. I prefer their live version over the studio version.
