The Ultimate Guide to Building CONFIDENCE in Basketball
Спорт
This is easily the most important video I've made. Without a doubt. This is easily the question that I get asked the most around the world, and for good reason. Player can't reach their full potential without maintaining their confidence at a high level, which is never easy. But, it's a skill you can learn through basketball to carry with you through the rest of your life.

This highkey career saving advice for young hoopers. What helped me the most was lowkey watching lowlights/fails of NBA players/people I look up to to help me realise (like your last point) that it's okay to fail and everyone does it. Fire vid as always bro keep up the grind 🔥
I really think Kobe's playoff clutch time air balls in his early career made him a much better player than without them. Don't be afraid of failure. It will only make you stronger as far as you learn something from it.

Real talk
Reappraising your nerves is part of a concept called cognitive restructuring where your not changing how or stopping how you feel about something but changing the way your perceiving the experience. It's extremely powerful
the timing is crazyyy needed this ty

Lack of confidence definitely used to apply to me. Not to say there aren’t things to improve confidence wise, but your training programs and philosophies have really helped me develop a better mindset about how to train. Through just playing so much more live basketball my instincts have taken off.
Thank you for making this video I fail at making my HS basketball team 5 times one in freshman year and 2 twice at junior and senior year but I’m going to continue the grind. Thank you.
Appreciate this video so much, needed this for not only basketball but Life in general
These apply to life, not just the game. Good stuff 👍🏼
pops always told me "if you nervous act like your not" which means u communicate more and have a dog mentality within the game the nerves will go away simple💪🏾
I was such a bad mood being 20 not having the time to play this year it really made me sad and to hear that I can still go after it as 21 22 year old puts me in good spirits that I can still try to play next year
That second tool is BIG for me ! Knowing who you are is key !
Great video!! Definitely trying to build my confidence driving to the hoop more, and not making mistakes, but also balancing the fear of making mistakes when playing in games. Tough balance but this video really helped
I got in my first basketball team 2 days ago and my first game is gonna be tomorrow. This video really helped me to calm myself because I always feel nervous when I play with other people even if they're younger than me and this also helped me with my mindset that when I miss I always tell myself that I'm bad and just pass the ball next time because I'm afraid of what will other people say about me. I just realize something while I was watching this video, when I practice alone I usually have a lot of confidence and even if I miss I always reflect on my mistakes and do better.
Appreciate the advice man. You help us hoopers more than you know
These are things I internally know. But it's always good to have a reminder. Good vid
Thank you so much I just started playing basketball and I'm kind of an introvert person, This helped me a lot thank you so much
Thank you so much. This video is priceless. The persp3ctive one is a big one and i strangly realizedbit alone. For some reason i got 3 "bad" games. My confidence was shattered. Then i tought "i could just stop playing and do another thing" Yes, it was almost giving up but no, i realized that all that failling and mates screaming didnt matter that much and my game clearly improved after that
29 years old I've been going through this for a month now. Feels like I'm losing my dawg mentally on the court. Not giving up at all resilience and hard work.
best video you have ever made bro so many people needed this ! Keep it up one of the top 3 best trainers in the world

Been watching you for a while and didn't even notice you went to SJC. I'm a freshman at DeMatha and I have a tryout tommorrow and because of your video I will make the team.
thank you for your tips bro! I really appreciate that
Hey Man, I have been watching this video a couple of times this year and find these tips very helpful and yes I struggle through confidence. I work Harder than anyone on my team I promise you I come home from school and do a shooting and a 30 min handle workout every day but i still am doing bad in my games I feel like I should be cooking but I'm not even getting 4 point on average. I felll like I should start but I ant even the 6th or 7th man. I am 5 3 and would love for some feed back. Thanks
Yoo this channel has helped me so much💥💥
Bro i needed this!!😢

Good luck bro!!
as a coach of 50 years now, I talk to my players about gaining confidence all the time, this was fabulous, thanks, Coach!!! PS replacing "excitement" with for "being nervous" is genius... I always tell my players that if you are a little jittery before a state championship game that it means you care and it will wear off after 30 seconds. That always seemed to settle them. Thanks again!
So -there's no shortcut -accept failure build❤ with it -control the mind -reapprhase nerves (call it sum else) -one bad game aint erryting put it in perspective -work trhoug challenges -
I've found that talking yourself up and trash talking opponents is a quick easy fix to get your confidence up during games.
You are the goat
Just came off a terrible game, hopefully i can use this to play better next game iA

I’m not sure but my problem usually is whenever I get into a game I resort to bad habits and forget to use my legs which leads to me chucking bad shots up. I’m currently just trying to shoot as much as possible to make it muscle memory but you could be different from me
my last game I had 0 points I was like 0/3 and I just felt like I was terrible and it even makes it worse when ur teammates mock you
I have been having a really hard time with confidence I don’t know how to fix it.
✅
Just do what you can do and you’ll be alright
I got cut from basketball and im in sophomore year, should i continue? I can compete with all the better players but I struggle with confidence.
