How to Become a KNOCKDOWN Shooter (Full Guide!)

Спорт

In our global camps, one of my big focuses is helping players understand HOW to train, so even when I'm not there, they're able to work more efficiently! In our recent Iceland camp, one of the big focuses was shooting, and hopefully I have a pretty good blueprint of how to train one of basketball's most important skills!

    Something I've noticed recently that I see in a lot of great shooters especially booker and Klay is that just like their shooting hand they put space in the palm of their off hand and use just the pressure of their fingers to guide the ball and Devin will sometimes even take his entire thumb off the ball on his lift

  • @VonDaSnip3r

    @VonDaSnip3r

    Something I've also noticed with great shooters is that on release their off hand arm doesn't fully extend it kinda locks up at the elbow the same time the hand comes off the ball

    I think on long range 2s and on 3s the elbow should be above eye level b4 release starts to gain more momentum or sumn like that

    I can sit here and set you screens all day just to make things easier cause I really care about is setting screens and playing defense passing shooting shot blocking rebounding hustling guarding guys that are much bigger and taller than me too the best offensive player on the floor doing the little things and I was in the NBA I would prefer to come off the bench and earn my playing time and in every single way too which is exactly my point

    I'm not a pro coach but I had a similar problem, what I did was first(without the ball) I would go through my shooting motion and really try to focus on the flick, think of curry, his wrist flicks so hard it bounces, I tried to emulate that kind of flick then when it came to the acc shooting the flick was in my muscle memory and ready to put it into my game

    If you can hit mid range shots, you should be able to hit 3s. You might want to make adjustments to your shot though if you are constantly missing short. E.g. lowering your release point, shooting on the way up/shooting in one motion or even just shooting with a higher arc

  • @joshuatreez2440

    u are probably more of a set shooter and should bend your knees more when shooting from farther away or you are shooting with too much arc and should lower your release point slightly.
