Get in the ZONE More Often as a Hooper! 🧠

Спорт

Accessing the flow state may be a more important skillset than anything else in basketball! It sounds crazy, but it's truly a make-or-break ability as a hooper. Here's how you can train to make it happen more often.

It’s crazy how these things can and do happen throughout the game. He just happened to put it into perspective. I crave feeling in the zone. It’s only happened a couple of times in my life. It’s such a supernatural surreal moment. Eyes dilated, basket just looks so big and the ball leaves your hand so effortlessly. I’m always hungry for that feeling

@@sarsvfxit's because it's a different state of consciousness, when you come out of the zone it's sort of like waking from a dream. Meditation states are similar to the zone.

I feel the zone when I'm not trying too hard, when I'm letting my fundamentals take over. Play simple and the game is simple. Was playing in a tournament and just walked down the defense to drain 2 deep threes in a row, so much fun.

I have always liked talking (either talk smack, or talk to my teammates), that helps me get into the zone. The spectrum really puts that into perspective... Because a lot of times, I'm just not focused / playing lazy. Talking helps me focus. But my teammates are the opposite... They tend to get nervous / take it way too seriously. This video has given me the most practical advice on how to help them get into the zone too (small wins, pre game stuff etc.) I used this in a semifinal game against a tough team and mann... It worked like magic!

Lol For me it's the complete opposite. The more I talk, the more emotional, or the more flashy I get, the less I can get into the zone. I have to be completely calm, be consistent and not really do much extra stuff, only say and do what's necessary, etc, basically play like Kawhi.

when i usually get in the zone, the game starts becoming slow motion to me i can see and read the game in a slow motion type of way. the game just flows i play offense, defense and most importantly i get all the teammates involved whether they are good or not so good as a player i make sure everyone gets a shot off. i get vocal and i tell them to shoot that shit. don’t worry about the boards we got you bro!! but the main thing is i’m not ever thinking about a W or taking a L that becomes irrelevant when i’m zoning.

There was this pick game a couples months ago where I was bringing the ball up the court and this dude was pressing me. I don't what it was but suddenly I just wanted him off me. I sped up my pace then slowed down and crossed. He went flying forward and I went to shoot. Some dude on the side line I couldn't see said "money" before I even shot it. In that moment, I had never been so focused in my life. Just me and the basket. Everything else melted away. When I heard that swish as I hit the shot it was the best feeling in the world.

I'm a weird baller because I don't have a stable and proper shooting form, but everytime I enter the what so called zone, it's like my shooting form adjusts on defense, I mean even if I release the ball late it'll go in, maybe it's because whenever I'm in the zone, my focus increases to 100% I can think clearly when to release the ball and in what part of the board or ring the ball will hit.

When I'm mad for some reason e.g. the other team starts talking smack I tend to focus just on scoring and nothing else but I only get to stay in the flow state in a short time but when I'm calm after taking a nap I stay longer in the flow state and can do more things without having to think about it.

once we played a much better team on all point of views; I decided to set an example for my team and started game by leading the team into a resistance mode by just daring very long shoot, difficult shots and stealing, great defense, combativity; not showing signs of tiredness or defeatism, going to the rebound systematically even jump far for the ball and fighting the ball .. we lost but less we could have lost but our opponents saluted our courage and spirit to fight till the end. I never forget that game and learned from it more than any other. I know I can raise up my level by setting myself and for my team goals and setting a correct mind to focus and be motivated, open to everything.

To be honest, there's no way of really 'getting' into the zone, most of the time you don't even know it happens. It just clicks to you, then you start to turn on fire, dribbling, shooting, passing, everything feels more natural towards you and you're able to do skills you couldn't even do before. Like I said before, there's no way of getting into the zone manually, it only happens in a moment of desperation, where you get that surge to beat your opponents. Everything feels slow, predictable, to the point where you move faster than usual.

I disagree in that desperation and stress is actually not an optimal way to getting there Being focused and present, and being in the mental energy level that you are most comfortable with will be ideal for your best performance and you’ll probably enter the zone more often than not, in fact i think it’s different for different types of people
