THIS WAS SOOOOOOOO HELPFUL. You don’t understand. I always play so good by myself but when I get on the court I get scared if I do anything bad that would make my teammates mad or disappointed such as missing a wide open layup. I always overthink it and make it sound harder then it is. Even though I know it’s easy.

Gotta get past the overthinking. Once you do that it becomes much easier and fun to play.

If it makes you feel any better? I'm 36,my high school days were ages ago.
I always looked lost on the court in games but I was always lights out in practice. Just as soon as my confidence started to go up in games I tore my meniscus.... sad life :(

i am in the exact same situation right now. the way i play in practice or just a regular pickup game isn’t the same in my AAU games. this video really did help, thanks a lot.

It's hard for me because I play with people way out of my age group. I always overthink things because I'm scared of the criticism. Criticism from older people is a bummer because you can't be always talking back to people older than you, I'm a very respectful person at my 12 years of age. This video was so so helpful for me, thank you sir.

You’ll learn soon that a lot of them don’t know what they are talking about but also bro you got time to mature and find your own game. Once you do you’ll be fine and not be as affected by criticism. Also criticism isn’t bad just think of it as possible pointers everybody in this game who truly likes the game loves learning more about it and how to get better just go with the flow and keep improving.

This video helped me alot. Over the past month ive been doing great at my high school camps, specifically having a 15 point game with 5 three pointers. I went from a bench player on my freshman team that barely had a spot on the jv team, to a starter on jv and the best player on there that isn’t at the moment on varsity. I play for a competitive high school that won region championship the year prior, so this a big deal to me, the goal is to make varsity when the season comes and with the progression i have had it seems reachable.

This guy summed it all up pretty good. My problem is endurance and not wasting all my energy running back and forth to the point where I can’t even shoot cause I’m gassed out
@apfxlkuchen
Жыл бұрын
It's not wasting energy when you sprint back on d All you got to do if you don't have enough energy for continuing playing on maximum effort is to tell your coach about it then you can relax on the bench and if you are ready you'll be back on the court
Thx for the vid. Very informative video. At school scrimmages in practice I score like 10-20 points per game put when I'm at a tournament I score like 5-15 points. Tomorrow I have a game and hopefully I play to my full potential after this video. Thx again

Tear Coaxeal glad this video helped. Remember that changing your mindset is like changing a habit. You might not be where you want to be at today. But focus on getting better every single time until it’s a habit.

Casethegreat 21 I think ppl should know that you don’t have to score to be effective if you can’t rack up points rack up the assists u can be just as dominant. Take for example Magic Johnson say the only part of his game that would be good is passing yes he won’t be as dominant but he can get teams wins and make the team better, don’t let your height bring your confidence down!

how did you play brodie? 💀💀
I usually play well but earlier today I played a game with a Rec team and only scored 4 and we lost by 30 and I shot 2/9 this helps a lot
Omg thank you, I'm so good in practice but so bad in games and it's always cause I'm scared. My coach would always get mad cause every time I missed I put my heads on my head acting like it was the end of the world when I missed.
I had one game this season where I used affirmations a ton with out knowing it. I went on to have no turnovers, a 13 point quarter, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. Unusual for me, but now I know. Thanks bro

This video helped a lot , i train like 2-4 hours every day and my work just won’t show off in games as an aau 7th grader who is now practicing about 4 hours every day, This video will help me with my in game performance so thank you!
This is exactly how I feel everytime I play in a game. I get so nervous by the possibility of letting my teammates down, and get in my own head. You articulated everything so perfectly. Thank you!
I have pretty good handles and a pretty good shooter and when I'm at practice I play to my full potential but in my games I lose it all and I forget
Thanks man, I've been looking for a channel like yours.
Great vid men, both a great help mentally and physically.
Thanks for the tips I’m getting ready for my middle school team and travel team to start up this helped me a lot
I absolutely love this video! This will definitely help me on tonight’s game.
This guy really explains it well
Thanks Bro love from Norway!🇳🇴 God bless you🙏🏻
Thank you for breaking things down and making it easy to understand all your code your better than 99.9% of the basketball youtubers when it comes to breaking things down so I thank u for that🔥💯
This helped last year I watched this video and then I wasn’t scoring now I’m scoring way more and I’m way more confident thanks this helped A lot and btw practice makes perfect
I’ve actually started to figure this out myself and started implementing a lot of moves I do in practice into some pick up games and stuff, it gives you so much freedom and makes you play a lot better, you need to drown out what other people say if you make a mistake and keep doing it even if you fail once or twice, or even three times, example, I’ve been trying to learn a fancy type of layup that’s super effective and I’ve started pulling it off more and more in practice but I can never get the confidence to do it in a game and I finally did it today a few times and only missed once, it’s really all about your mindset and how you perceive pressure to succeed
Although this video came out years ago it was very applicable. Thank you so much because in AAU practice I would pull up from anywhere on the court and hit it but in game I would shoot once a game.
Thank u man, u saved me from screwing up again with my mindset your a real one😊😊
Bro thank you so much. I’m coming back from and injury in my playoff game and my whole team is counting on me. Can’t wait bro.
I am going to try saying "Nobady can stop me i feel like the greatest" cus when i say it when am in a chill mood really hypes me upp love the video

Thanks brother, goodluck with ur future!
This was SOOOOO FReakin helpful bro thx.
This is me too. But I have an issue with my drills because I'm not playing with extra people when I practice so I have to face unexpected decisions and end up having to pass
vid diagnosed my problem exactly. thanks
Just came here after missing easy shots in a 3v3 and I wondered why cause the shots were so ez and I thought “maybe it’s the pressure” so I searched up how to get rid of it and I think this is really gonna help cause everything you said not to do I did so thanks man👍
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHH BRO, Im a young player and just had a bad game, usually I do really good in practice with confidence, but when it comes to the leagues I always hesitate or get nervous. Thank You so much
I like to think of a song that pumps me up that’s how I dropped 35 points 11 rebounds and 8 assists
Really good for all hoopers out there. Also when practicing, put a bit more pressure on yourself by having to make shots in a row so you get pressure from having to make the next one like in a game
this helped me, thanks! you are a really good dude
This was such a great vid, very helpful, you also have very good analogy, keep up the good work mate 👍
Thank you so much i play more comfortably and confident in my games

Awesome! Appreciate the support man!
Thank you for this vid. I would be good in like 3v3 situations but I would struggle in 5v5. For example I would play great in PE basketball but when I play in a tournament I would tighten up and turn the ball over and play scared too.
So pretty much think positively, don’t overthink, and have fun
Thanks bro, you helped me a lot😁💪
Thanks man, I got a game tomorrow and my team aint+'t very encouraging so I gotta find that mindset to keep me going. Thanks!
