Resorts have to stop putting terrain parks in the middle of the beginner areas.
@jakemuir8364
Жыл бұрын
They do this over here too. Literally have seen people flop over the fence, walk directly across three landings (without even watching where they are going never mind anyone else) and flop over the other fence just to get to another run. 🤦♂️
Resorts near me should have everyone on the mountain watch this video and have a mandatory test at the end. If they fail....watch it again until they pass. Great vid!
Literally heard 4 times last season working park crew: “Why would they put a metal bar on the landing of that small jump” Almost quit my job after PD: love the fact that there’s at least 1 channel in the entirety of KZread that’s still core, pure honesty

More like 10 seconds, not minutes. First minute on the lift at Copper (Bear is our local mountain), my 11yr old son said, "Why are people not falling all over the place like at Bear? Everyone here seems to know how to ride." He's on Team Bear and those kids send it. Lot of Jerries not caring when a small kid calls dropping and they cut off the kid only to not even make it over the lip of the jump when the kid is starting way up above them to get the speed they need.
Haha I once askey the shaper in Abolsue Park after a reshaping of the medium kickers, and she told me to go all-in... I dieded. And backflips are cool. At least here in Europe, they are always valued. It feels awesome having the shapers rooting for you. Once in Les Deus Alpes they even let their private kicker be used (it was behing their shed, you could jump out to fresh pow).
i personally am a friend of having a fence with Features to get over on the entrance to thte terrain park. This is the only way to make shure that nobody gets into that area, that doesn't know what they're doing and potentially endanger others. Sadly little to no Parks put up a fence with like a Rainbox rail or sth.
@dudeguyman77

Lol that actually might be a good idea. The only way to get into the park is to Ollie a rope or fence.
this isnt a bad list but it might need a reprise at some point: Rules that actually ARE WRITTEN in the alpine responsibility code: 1) no.4 is possibly the worst offender. one "should not stop where they aren't visible from above" and another that "before starting downhill, look up and yield to others" 2) no 5 is the best bet to keep the park safe. I cant tell you how many ppl I've been able to deter from entering the park or taking further laps in it, simply by asking them to read the park rules posted at its entrance. this corresponds to the alpine code rule that they should "observe signs and warnings" and "use proper equipment" 3) honorable mention - don't block the entrance - against alpine code for blocking passage. this also goes for aholes building jumps outside the park and then crossing them off with skis so their kid is the only one to hit it. Best thing about alpine code - its pretty much the same, in different wording and order, in NA, Canada, EU and NZ. It also works for bikes. The UNWRITTEN rules of the park I noticed most, though im not sure I agree with them, im just reporting: 1) the park is typically the only place on the mountain where its ok to hike uphill and you should expect to see this, respect it and try not to wipe out people walking up on the edges of the park. 2) be nice to sidejumping kids because they might come back to take freestyle lessons (what? really? ) 3) come to the terrain park at around 10 - 11am. you'll have time to sober up from last night and youll hit the softest snow of the day. 4) people have mentioned this in other videos and it does come handy - if you get wiped out, get out of the landing asap. 5) also get some freestyle lessons, preferably from someone who isn't oblivious to etiquette. I'm talking to you Mr. 12-kid-group-freestyle-lesson-sitting-on-a-knuckle. seriously. wtf dude? Cheers!

Love the vibe haha! And love the channel as well. A lot. Thanks for it. I am a kook myself and have been trying to stick to the rules, especially because in one of your vids you said "I don't give a fck if you are good at surfing or skating, you are still a kook here etc" hahahah True. I just turned 40 and come from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and been surfing since I was 6 and skating since 12 but 10 years ago I moved to Germany and went snowboarding for the first time last month at Snow World in Landgraaf. (IDK why it took me so long to....) I definitely have "board feeling" but went with a very humble approach and expecting nothing but frustration and disappointment - LOL - It went better than I expected but still sucked ass. I tried to stay outta the way though. We have the exact same hierarchy at the skatepark and in the water, and I know HOW annoying some beginners can be. I enjoyed snowboarding A LOT and even bought a board. One that was listed in one of your videos, the Salomon Huck Knife. Trying to find the bindings that go with it though. Checked all of your videos about it and am deciding between the Union Strata, Union Ultra, and Salomon Distric Pro Team. Any pointers? (besides stay out of my way, kook) Cheers
Thx for saying it Adrian

@@ShredddT I hear ya. The place I'm referring to has essentially one hill that's indoors and split in half. The park being one half and just like a 400 foot straight shot the other half. I don't do park but I see these kooks in there that can barely stop and they try and fly off every feature. Kooks cutting in front of features all the time that people wanna hit and I'm at the top or on the lift watching these people just shaking my head. And I'm thinking I dont even go in the park and this shit is common sense to me. Its fuckin baffling.
Hey Avran what's your thoughts on right of way for guys hiking a feature vs someone flowing from top to bottom? Surely the dude hitting the whole line can just blow past the group.

Basically don't be an arrogant, entitled, douchebag and you'll get on fine. It's a general rule for life. Back in the good old days when you were skating a spot and some assholes came along and started screwing up the session because they were too dumb or arrogant to think before they acted (rollerbladers!). They used to get taken aside by the locals and educated as to the error of their ways. They must have learned something because they never came back. Education is never wasted.
In other words, obtain and utilize common sense. Unfortunately that's too much of an ask for some people.
