This boards just rips!
What’s the best shallow and deep powder-specific board that can deal with various types of and angles of powder (steep or Japan style)? I looked at a 420ph/super float an Endeavor Archetype and a Korua Uberegg. I really want it to take to Japan. I'm a solid intermediate, 190 in gear, size 12. I ride a Yes Standard and a Greats.
Archetype.
Lil shoutout to SPSS, huh? Hell yeah dudes!
Softer high back than the ride 10s?
A little bit.
Ride deepfake. Gnu 4x4 or BSOD? = PNW at alpental and crystal. Variable conditions with 5” of powder on top of ice moguls.
Deepfake
What about arbor Bryan iguchi?
Sure.
Thanks for the review! I have a 164 Korua Dart. I enjoy it, but it can be a bit of work sometimes turning it. (I'm 53 and 6'- 230 lb... 31 yrs riding). Not to mention, it can be quite chattery at times, too. Wondering if the 9000- 164 would be a better option for still carving hard when i want, but also being able to do more mellow, but still precise turns without having to put 100% of my big ass into it, (along with that heavy front foot to initiation of the Dart), p.s Have also been looking at the Cafe Racer, along with the Stranda Shorty as well. Thanks for any advice.
It might fit the bill.
First time viewer, Im comfortably riding blue/black runs, looking to push myself next season and powder hunting in Alaska and Japan. I am really looking at this board to add for powder days since it's now last season's model and on sale. Im 5'6" 160lbs with a size 9 boot. I have only ever ridden in a centered stance as my boards have been twins so your review was very interesting. My main board is a 151cm Lib Tech Off Ramp. Currently looking at either the 151 or 154, any recommendations?
This board will eat you alive.
@@AngrySnowboarder Damn its like that? hahaha Im not seeing a lot saying it's a good pow board so I started looking at the Nidecker Beta APX instead. Ill come back to this one
👋 😂
Would this hold up well in steep stuff? Or if your riding steeper stuff is that algorythm or deep fake better? Im pretty sold on the board but need some help.
What's your definition of steep.
@@AngrySnowboarder i guess black diamonds. off trail stuff in between. Im not looking to hard charge but to keep up where the crew goes. Thinking a 161 would be all mtn enough. (5'11 185). Questioning the flex, seen a lot about it being softer
@@AngrySnowboarder thoughts?
@@mikehugh-x2n That you haven't defined what steep is to me.
@@AngrySnowboarder I tried in the first one. Back bowls? Blacks? Not sure how best to define steep
How do you adjust the forward lean?
On the sides
Do you know generally when boot breakdowns will come? Boots are much more important than anything.
When it's done.
@@AngrySnowboarderwill they be on patreon first because I plan to subscribe.
no
My uncle made that snowboard he's josh the owner
Sup fellas .
Its 29c outside. Your channel is torture
Pre-production model..? Do you know if anything is different since then? So with the official production model?
Pre-product model: A model built before finalized production begins.
Would I want the Phantom + or the regular ol' Phantom for a Storm Wolf? Seems like the plus might be overkill for chill days.
I'd go regular honestly.
The ankle strap is also different on the + compared to the reg ole phantom. Maybe they work in unison? Stronger high back slightly softer ankle strap? Thoughts Angry?
Any thoughts about these with Yes PYL uninc ? :)
Little overkill.
I’m 5’9” with 165 lb What would you recommend between 151 and 154? For All mountain and learning some flat ground tricks.
51
How would the atlas or new falcor work on this board?
Little overkill with the Falcor and Atlas wouldn’t be my first choice.
@@AngrySnowboarder so more like the new force?
Bingo.
difference between kazu and passport
Flex, pop, sidecut, camber profile.
Can we get a top 5 boards that will send you into orbit?
Saw the jump board episode was thinking more about just all mountain boards with the best pop and snap.
Torn between the 24 commissioner and the 23 sashimi. East coast back country freerider. What would you recommend?
Those are two entirely different riding boards.
how would the spring break compare to the k2 hypnotist?
Softer in the tips and not as poppy off a jump.
I want to get a korua and upgrade from my 158 ultra mind expander as I want something longer what korua model would you suggest ? Thanks 🙏
The one that fits your needs.
I'm 110lbs. Is it good idea to buy 147 for me?
That's going to be a little big for your weight.
Hi Avran, if money were no object what quiver of boards, snowboard equipment/gear would you buy in 2024? Like an ultimate setup list? Thanks
I'm happy with what I have. Maybe 2 sets of Thraxis since I'm running low on backups.
Thanks….
I really love this board. The review makes it sound a bit basic but I don't think that's what the reviewer was going for. It's a good and solid board that does carves and powder really well. Even at speed. You'll love how "chill" it can be. Some people think it's boring that it makes things so easy but hey, everybody wants something else. I enjoy riding this thing and not having to struggle too much in the 7 to 12/14 days a year im enjoying the mountain. It's not so much designed for park but I guess you can do some jumps with it. The thing is there are better boards that are better at park. When I feel like jibbing etc I take another board but in general I ride this one.
It is a basic wide board.
This or the antigravity? Or same same but Different…but still same.
Yes
Hi Avran. I'm going to buy this board but I'm not sure whether to choose 154 or 156 cm. I am 5'8'', 150 lbs, foot size 10 us. I like trees runs, jump and quick turns. What do you recommend me?
I'd get the 56, more stable at speed and will fit that size 10 better.
Theyre not overhyped if you love them all!!
Minus 20 F always does it for me
I got the k2 standard from your top beginner board beginning of last season 30+ days of snowboarding I live in Cali, what would you recommend for my next board?
I don't ride parks 🙃
An intermediate board.
Ride Deep Gungis
Thinking on the huck knife or the pro , is it better to have a wide or regular, for reference I’m 210lbs, 5’9 1/2, and I’m a size 9.5 Boot I wanna be able to carve with it too tho ,
9.5 boot you don’t need a wide.
Bro Iam 1.83cm tall, 90kg , intermediate rider. What you think about genesis step on bindings, walth step on boots size 11 in a custom camber 2024 size 158W? Good combo?
I don't think about them.
?
Thank you Avran. As always much appreciation for the feedback.
I'd love ride the Ultralight just to experience the ride. It may kill me but at least I'd go down flying
It’s a rad board for sure, but I still preferred the ride on the K2 Alchemist overall. That said, the Nidecker might be a better choice if you’re heliboarding and heading to some serious steep alpine spines. If I were fully reliant on a board to get me out of an avalanche situation before getting swept away, I think I’d take the Nidecker instead haha
My interest is piqued 👽
Would you buy a board like this or go with a less expensive option like k2, capita or Weston for a Japan specific trip. Although, I'd still like it to have some capability for more normal terrain. Thank you for any feedback.
Depends on what you want to spend and how much you're going to ride it. Me personally I'd just take my Endeavor Archetype to Japan and have a blast.
I can pick these up for 100 bucks, but wondering if it would be worth spending a bit more for something more comfortable. Not a fan of calf bite
It's your ride.
My dad is not a knee surgeon I say that cause he made broko first off it’s spelled broko not broco get it right and his bindings are grea.
Your dad is a fucking retard and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Kazu pro or k2 passport. I used to compete so I know what I’m doing, but is comparing these two boards regarded?
Must be the best snowboarder on the mountain then.
@@AngrySnowboarder so I’m retarded?
I’m used to riding the Super DOA 2024 with Burton Malavitas 2024. I want to make the change to the Union force team bindings with the Salomon 2025 Huck Knife Pro. Will the change take some time to getting use to?
If you know how to ride no, if you don't, probably.
Whats wrong with the screws on clew? as in its too short?
Literally everything.
Have you really not reviewed the never summer harpoon?
Why the fuck would I ride crap.
Really torn between this and the lib dynamo.
Torn between the dynamo and gnu hyper
I am ashamed and confident enough to say that I am guilty of one of those sins
