The Story of Kenneth Parnell

Kenneth Parnell was a child predator who managed to fly under the radar for far too long. His uncontrollable desire to be with young boys and his brazen approach to acquiring them would eventually catch up with him though.

Because children aren't really protected by the courts, even now. Child molesters/kidnapers cost more to house, due to obvious issues they know are going to happen. A lot of them end up doing their time in segregation, because it's too dangerous for them to be in the general population. With the rise of privatised prisons, bottom line is what matters.

I was abused by an older relative , i was addicted to meth and anything else i could get my hands on. I wasted my teenage years my 20s i got in trouble and ran/fought the cops that tried to arrest me. When i was like 26 i met this girl and i really liked her so i left my crack den and tried to get sober and be with her , i didnt succeed in getting sober but i would do good for awhile.. then bad for awhile and finally the bad was too much and she left me. Well a couple weeks later she found out she was pregnant so we decided to try and work it out.. but the same thing was happening, good for awhile bad for awhile. I kept telling myself i got a child otw i need to straighten up but it didnt really mean anything to me but i kept telling myself that despite my relapses.. then the night came that he was to be delivered. It was a rough delivery, he got stuck in the birth canal and had to do an emergency c section, her bp was near 300 at some points , it was a close call. Well he made it here with us , and holding him .. feeling his skin on my skin , everything began to change. I would still mess up sometimes but the love i felt would keep me trying harder and harder. We're still together, he just turned 4 two days ago , we also have a 16 month old daughter which i was sober for when she was born. Ive been actually sober for 2 years now , we are stable , have a nice paid for vehicle , decent jobs , all my legal issues are resolved and expunged so i have a clean record. We are happy , my kids are off the charts happy and they're the literal light of my life. The love they gave me took all the pain away with the things ive been through , ive forgave my abusers.. yes more than 1 , and my violent abusive stepfather that would torture me. We live far away from all of that now and have carved out this happy little family for ourselves. My kids have done more for me than i think i could ever do for them , though i will spend the rest of my life trying to even it out. My girl never gave up on me and believed in me even when i did not believe in myself at all. Drugs took the pain away temporarily, my children healed me , i had attempted suicide twice and lived both times and im glad i did. We are truly happy and on our way to buying a home together. I had an amazing support structure, not everyone is so lucky.. i know this all may sound cliché but its true , their love changed me , you can change , its hard but not impossible, never give up and always take the chance to feel love.. - a former addict

I live not that far from Steven and Timothy’s statue in Merced, and Cary tossed one of his victim’s wallet in my town near by where the homeless and drug addicts hang out, it’s so eerie. My heart breaks when I think about Steven going through hell for years only to die shortly after being freed of that sick man. The whole Stayner family suffered tragedy. Also, the interviews after Steven escaped seem so invasive and I wish the media and perhaps the people around him gave him some space and some therapy to help him; it probably wouldn’t have saved him from his accidental death, but it probably would’ve helped him and his family deal with what happened. Parnell....life is so messed up, that sick man got to outlive his victims. RIP Steven & Timothy

Most people who do true crime don't want o delve into great detail into the abuse of children for fear it would offend someone. If you don't talk about it then it doesn't exist while children continue to suffer. This is why it needs to be in the open in order to acknowledge it and clean it up. "His wife was pregnant, he needed another outlet." There was apparently a lack of control and empathy in this man, only the need to satisfy his urges and to use a human being as his toilet. This this seem familiar today?

Oh my God I feel that on a spiritual level! Have been on a self-modified quarantine due to autoimmune disease since mid-march. Did I mention I live in the country in a mobile home with an elementary age child? Coronavirus and quarantine done got me losing my mind!!! Who am I kidding, I lost it by late April lol. the only thing that has allowed me to keep the small amount of sanity that I have during this whole pandemic has been youtube's quarantine algorithm. It has introduced me to a handful of amazing content creators! It's such a wonderful thing that I almost can't be mad at coronavirus... Almost... Stay well friend.

I remember why the name is familiar... This case reminds me so much of the Missouri miracle abduction case of Shawn hornbeck and ben ownsby(?). Shawn had been kidnapped and made to live as his abductor son. But as shawn got older his abductors preference for young boys didn't change and he forced Shawn to help him kidnap another child. But this abduction had been witnessed and they were both found not long after the kidnapping. Had the police not found them when they did i feel shawn would have finally broke free of his abductor and gotten himself and Ben to safety.

He was affected by his parents being so wrapped up in his brothers disappearance, many believed it led to him doing what he did. I lived somewhere recently where all my neighbors and their kids had aggressive cancer. Many of them died, including my dad. The cdc said this was normal and people get sick, people die and people kill. Most are evil, almost all are selfish. He was also a sociopath.

Well if you think about it, pretty much every single killer of that has spoken with profilers and psychiatrists, psychologists etc have all mentioned one or more events in their life that they consider traumatic and affective them as such. In this case had his brother not been abducted would he have became a meth smoking Bigfoot befriending serial killer? Who knows. But with other serial killers had that experience not had happened or not had been traumatic in their mind would they have become the monsters they were? I think it kind of all ties back to the nurture/nature type thing. Were they monsters from the get-go or did something create them into a monster? 🤔🤔🤔

This monster destroyed a family, stole a boys life (Steven, who’s early life was erased with torture and who was not the same after, died young) and had a hand in creating a serial killer (Cary, by setting forth a chain of events that shaped his life. It is possible without what happened to his brother he might not have become a murderer). I was 14 when Steven returned and it has affected me to this day. He, along with Adam Walsh, forever changed my once innocent view that things like that did not happen. He wasn’t a monster he was a demon. He ruined so many lives and pretty much got away with it. 5 years is hardly adequate. Diane Stevens was a hero and he was finally given an appropriate sentence. Love your channel! You’ve got a new subscriber, thanks!
