I've lived in the Orlando area for 50 years. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER get in a vehicle, boat, house, anything with anyone you don't know. I've spent years telling tourists this, especially. They get down here and figure the whole state and everyone in it is Disney World. There are more killers down here per square foot than a whole lot of other places.

I have been obsessed with serial killers for as long as i have known of them. I simply cannot accept that people like this live amongst us. This was one of the most heinous, evil and horrific cases that i had ever heard of, i was in shock when i first read about this years ago.. Just to think of it is...Unbearable... The terror that engulfed the victims. The mind of the person orchestrating it. To think of each minute by minute of unspeakable horror they went through ... These monsters actually exist. And we stand in line next to them at the convenience store, at work, in every day life. At any given time there are anywhere from 35 to 50 active serial killers in the U.S. Stalking and hunting 24/7 for anyone that they can take advantage of. Preying on peoples good nature. Many times disguising it as kindness or empathy, wanting to help or needing help. Do not trust strangers.

Remember ladies, you don't owe strangers politeness. You don't owe them a smile or conversation. You have the right to tell them to eff off. If they don't like it, they are probably entitled men who feel like they have a right to harass women. Don't worry about hurting their feelings. These men know that approaching you when you are alone makes you uncomfortable. Don't let them pretend otherwise. Strange men are owed exactly nothing by us and the ones who argue about it are the dangerous ones. Good men understand why women are cautious and don't take it personally. Bad men will try to make you feel bad that you won't let them abuse or harass you. Tell them to go eff themselves. It's not rude, it's smart.

My counsellor explained to me once that it’s okay to be quiet (I had social anxiety), and when people approach you you don’t have to give them what they’re asking for. You can say quietly that you don’t know. Immediately after, I waited at a bus stop and some guy crosses the street and comes right up to me to ask if this bus goes to these cross streets, and before I realized just because someone sounds like they’re authoritative and demanding doesn’t mean I need to react to it or respond like they are an authority, and that I really don’t owe this person a thing. I said I don’t know and decided I’m going to ignore him from now on. He was annoyed but it’s not my job... and your piece of advice about not giving politeness to men I think applies to women as well. Maybe not the same rate, but still you can’t trust just anyone no matter how friendly or open they seem. Not all actors are in shows and movies

When this murder happened, my family was living here in Tampa. I still remember the front page of the paper after their bodies were found. I was a year younger than the youngest victim and it was very sobering to think shes never going to graduate high school, go to prom - cause u know when u are a teen that's the important stuff - but at the same time I knew they were never going back home to live their life. We left Tampa before the case was solved, yet it was only living back in Tampa around the execution time that I learned the case was solved. I was so happy the Rogers family could finally get final justice

In 1997, a series of articles titled "Angels & Demons" written by Thomas French - which told the stories of the murders, the capture and conviction of Chandler, and the impact of the crimes on the Roger's family and their community in Ohio - was published in the St. Petersburg Times. The series won a 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing. I would highly recommend anyone with even a passing interest in this case to read this article series. Chandler's last public statement---"You're executing a innocent man today"---is the same one spoken by Roger Coleman, a Virginia coal miner who was executed in 1992 for the March 10, 1981 rape and murder of his sister-in-law, Wanda McCoy. He had so many people convinced of his innocence that when DNA evidence proved in 2006 that Coleman was the killer, many people still refused to believe it. You should do a video on Coleman if you haven't already.

I remember this case, it was beyond vile. It was their first vacation, those poor girls. The husband was suspected to begin with as he was very strange, and did not appear to want to rush to Florida to where his family were murdered, he said he had cows to see to. That caused the police to think he was cold and unaffected. It was strange that he was more concerned about his farm than his family. I am sure he could have got SOMEONE to take over the farm for a few days. This guy deserved everything he got, he is a monster. Doesn't everyone say they are innocent???? I would not have put an ounce of concern into his final statement. Thank you for covering this crime.

@@tarantellalarouge7632 Indeed! Thank goodness for her… She likely saved MANY lives. Also, kudos to the police department for doing that! I’ve never seen anything like that before, and that was such a creative way to get this case rolling. I wish they would do more creative things like that for the difficult cases, which require thinking outside the box.
The shout out to suicide prevention at the end really means a lot to me. We need to destigmatize mental health issues, and more people would get help.

Yes, it was a naive decision; I'm sure not well thought out; how terrible!
He never would admit nor held an ounce of remorse. He wanted to write his grandchildren and did write my sister in law a couple of times. He told her from jump “he will not talk about any accusations”. These letters did not last! He shouldn’t have even had 18 more years on death row. None of his victims had an option to get more time to live.
Engagement comment. Keep 'em coming man!
Now this guy really earned his monster status!!
Wait, just a lethal injection? This was not followed by the chair and after that a firing squad? He got 3 death sentences right?
I always think about the horror victims go through when I see these crime stories. The mom and daughters went to have fun on a vacation only to end up losing their lives. I always think about that moment when they realize they are in a life-and-death situation. Then experience what they fear the most. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. :(
I don’t fear ghosts the living are way more scary

Even the ones that blame their actions on their upbringing or everyone doing them wrong at-least are admitting they committed the act. The ones like Chandler never admit what we all know for a fact that they did are just cowardly pieces of shit of the highest order.
