imo it was better than that. He looked at the ref counting and thought "I don't know where I am, I don't know who I'm fighting, I don't know what just happened, but I have to get up, right now". He didn't hesitate to react he just had to take a second to look at the ref and realize what was happening. Like he trained his whole life and his subconscious mind reacted to seeing the ref counting, just get the f up off the ground now. Figure the rest out later. Defeat didn't even cross his mind as a possibility, just single minded determination and will.

Whenever people told me depression got better I never believed them, I always thought they were just comforting me. When Fury was making a come back I always liked the way he spoke about it, but almost took it as another kind of comforting method or narrative for this fight. It wasn’t until I saw him physically GET UP in R12 that I actually believed that maybe I could get better myself. Whenever I feel down, I watch those 40-50 seconds of him composing himself and getting up. I’m indebted to this man, he’s a true hero.

He’s also not a great champ either cause he never defends his titles vs top contenders (unless he’s bound contractually) and tries to get easy money fights. He fought only 1 top guy who was wilder. He also outpointed an old Klitschko in an uneventful fight but then dodged the re-match. He did well to fight wilder after 2 warm-up fights, and I forgive him for a couple of bums like Schwartz or whatever his name was, but his last 2 years have been a joke. And now he goes for an MMA guy. Why on Earth would he not be fighting Usyk?

If you watch the replay of when he fell. He landed on his left shoulder a little and not much his head. That saved fury and allowed him to finish. Dude is still from another atmosphere getting up from that right left.

Ive been watching boxing for like 25 yrs since I Was like 4 yrs old and ive never seen somebody get up from being unconscious to getting up like nothing happened like that I've also never seen a referee not stop a fight like that when a man is knocked out so viciously.The referee made sure he gave Fury every chance to get up so Fury could win on points but it didn't happen.Fury said God woke him up.I say God or the devil woke him up.Even the fight announcers couldn't believe it.Dammit now my friend called me and said wilder got knocked out.

This will be shown 30 years from now as one of those classic moments in boxing history. The night fury rose from the dead

Man, I am a 68 year old American man. I only got into boxing and mixed martial arts a couple years ago, but I watched a lot of fights. You know how it can become a blur? But a few images stand out. Fury getting up is truly spectacular, not of this world. Stunning. Mystical. No real words to describe it. WOWSER!!

From the moment Fury got up he started living rent-free inside Wilder's head. Till this day!

A different referee would have waved the fight off, without doing a full count.Tyson Fury was fortunate in the respect.Tyson Fury once he got back on his feet looked steady on his feet, and Deontay Wilder punched himself out that last round, he definitely was into his last energy reserves.

Nobody could have got up from that, except Fury. One of the most iconic moments in sports history.

This is really inspiring to me. If he can get up from that, any one of us can get back on our feet after a knockdown.

The greatest thing about this moment is that most fighters would tell you they weren't knocked out but Fury says to this day he was KO'd but his will to fight and win is too strong the punch that sent Fury to the canvas changed nothing you could see it in his eyes when they shot open and he just stands up like nothing happened

@@seanmarchiny timed it using a stopwatch, he is spot on at 4 seconds but gets a little slow from there, fury is up by 10.7/10.8 seconds or so, timed from exactly the moment fury touched down. Counting to 10 and only being off by .7/.8 seconds is pretty good tbf it's well within human error.

That Rise from the dead is soooo inspiring man !! You might be at the bottom of rock bottoms but you can rise up and go all the way. Thanks Fury for giving us this incredible moment.

That's not a second wind. Second wind is when you hit a wall and are exhausted, then get a "second wind" and push past that wall like you were never exhausted. Fury wasn't exhausted, he has crazy recovery from getting knocked out.

I’ve heard so many times that it was a “crazy long count”….no. That ref’s count was spot on. Fury went down at 2:22, popped up and on feet at 9 seconds 2:13 acknowledging the ref. Perfect job and timing.

Wilder could easily beat any heavy but damn Tyson weight 350 plus pound. The only heavy that could take his punch.

I started counting as soon as he hits the canvas and it was exactly at 9 where he got up. At 8, he was kneeling down only with his right leg. The referee's count was legit af.

@@nhooson5973 The ref does not begin the count, he picks it up from the official counter, count starts when Fury's head hits the canvas. It was dead on. Great job refereeing. Unlike the Tyson Douglas fight when the ref picked it up wrong.

Fury is an awkward fighter. You wouldn’t expect a guy that size to have the agility and boxing skills. You see a guy like fury you think he’s a slow slugger.

Imagine knocking out Fury, thinking that you finally won this fight, then Fury just gets up as if he's waking up for work. And then continue to fight like nothing happened.

The ref definitely wasn’t bribed! Counting only 8 seconds over the span of 10 seconds is the definition of unbiased!

Great fight and incredibly iconic moment. I really wish Wilder could have won just one though. He was soooo close.

He was 30 and 0 against tomato cans, Hugely overrated!! He got destroyed in Fury 2 and 3. However I give him respect as warrior .. Though totally out=classed by Fury,, He had a padded record against very low level opponents. He ran into a legitimate fighter in Fury and did as best as he could but got really beat down. Two and three tell the tale for sure!

Such a warrior, both of them really. It's so impressive what fury did here though, after all his struggles... And you can tell he was out cold for 5 seconds or so, I can only imagine how disoriented he was when his eyes popped open, and he was looking up at the lights... You can tell that the first thing that went through his head was "No, not like this", he didn't think about his pain, he didn't feel bad for himself, he didn't think about anything except pressing on, getting up, and fighting. That's a real warrior mentality, not everyone could do that.

@@natogfg He can't "box". He has a weak jab. He has poor footwork. He telegraphs his big right hand. Those are 4 pretty big weaknesses. Most guys are petrified of his power, and rightly so. And Fury fought the first 11 rounds as if he was trying to avoid getting hit. He was backing up and counter punching. After he was knocked down in the 12th he realized; not only could he take Wilder's best shot, that he also wasn't afraid to come forward. And he fought the next 2 fights without fear and exposed all of Wilder's weaknesses.
