Could not agree more . When comparing the greats people always forget that we never actually saw Ali's best years as they were taken from him. When he came back he was great but a shadow of what he was before. And even then he still came out on top in what was undoubtedly the golden era of heavyweights. @9:33 One of the coolest punches ever… the “no look” uppercut!
I always love watching that uppercut/hook Foreman drilled Cooney with. And the right hand that seemed to literally drill him into the canvas. So damn smooth. Reminds me of the Smash punch of Ruddock, and also Margarito's punch vs. Cotto in both fights. Foreman actually drilled Holyfield with that shot a couple of times and even the 208lb Holyfield didn't go anywhere. One of the greatest chins of all times. Holy said he went to his corner and asked, "did he knock all my teeth out? I think all my teeth fell out?" And his corner said, "Nah Real Deal, you're fine", but Holy said, "i know they'll tell you anything in your corner to get you to keep fighting, so I was still convinced I had no teeth". Ha. What a tough SOB.
Ali was phenomenally good. He literally picked a spot and connected. Crazy, crazy hand speed, accuracy, defense and skill. He was in a class of his own.

RIP Muhammad Ali. My favorite All Time Boxer, hands down.🙏🙏
Right off the bat that George Foreman power is SOOO unbelievable! It was such a nonchalant punch, lazily tossed out there, with no expectation of it doing much damage, although this was coming off a knockdown I mean just look at the way that his head was turned, looking away as it landed, until he heard the audience's collective gasp so he snaps his head back around to look for the reason that caused the crowd to react the way it did. He sees his opponent frozen in place, like a statue, so he then tries to land a "haymaker" which was clearly not necessary because he was already on the way to the canvas! If it hand landed cleanly he probably would have killed the guy! Edit - I should mention Gerry Cooney, the guy who got knocked out, didn't have an amazing chin but I think it's safe to say that he was considered to have had a "better then average" chin. His downfall was that his defense was lacking and he rarely tried to clinch when he got hurt. He was brought along too fast and I think he truly believed that his incredible left hook gave him his best chance to win rather then trying to clinch, and defend, until he got his head clear! I think that had he had a better team of handlers he would've become the, "Great White Hope" that everyone expected him to become! One of the best Heavyweights to never win a world title belt. He had a record of 28-3 (24 KOs) when he retired. His 3 losses were to Larry Holmes, in 1982 for the WBC Title (he was 25-0) - Michael Spinks, in 1987 for a lineal world title (he was 28-1) - George Foreman in this fight in 1990 (he was 28-2). He also didn't fight very often, due to injury issues and poor management!
That Ijagba knockout was devastating. The punch sounded loud enough to knock his opponent’s head off.😡

Only one boxer, Rocky Marciano, to rival Ali and perhaps surpass him. 49-0 is hard to beat after all.
@TheTruth-pl3mk
Жыл бұрын
@@waynebuckland7879 It's not that hard to beat, actually. It's simply about careful matchmaking, if you know how boxing really works. A manager, promoter, trainer and matchmaker all get together to decide who their fighter is best-suited to face next. If someone is deemed too dangerous, you avoid them and choose the next guy ranked below or further below, etc. And it carries on like that until you get to a title shot. Marciano was 42-0 when got his shot against Jersey Joe Walcott but the only name on his record was a washed-up Joe Louis and a lucky decision over Roland LaStarza. Brian Nielsen got to 49-0 just by facing a combination of bums and has-beens, while turning down a WBC title shot against Lennox Lewis.
Muhammad Ali at his peak was unbeatable. Greatest agility ever seen in the division, one of the greatest chins ever, the greatest jab ever, and excellent knockout power in his own right. If only he didn't have his prime years taken away because of the suspension.
Ali’s pinches seem straight out of a movie, they’re so straight clean and direct man.

@@BottleBri how he changed as man and humbled himself after the rumble is great. For me most def one of the greatest, its not just about achievements inside the ring 💪🏼
Ali was a cyborg sent back from the future to transform the world through boxing.
Beautiful Knockouts!!! Beautiful
The foreman uppercut is just so great! Its almost as if he just did it in passing
If that uppercut from foreman brought Cooney down without adding that extra one, as he crossover, that would automatically be added in Guinesss book as the most badass KO of a lifetime
That Foreman uppercut reminds me of Terence Crawford when he came in the beginning of a round and dropped Kavaulaskis with one shot- brilliant!
That George Foreman uppercut was beautiful and brutal. Amazing!
No Mike Tyson knockouts. Pls tell me the guy that put this together was fired or at least demoted.

Exactly...how can you have a list like this without Tyson?? Lol

My exact sentiment, Tyson had some of the most devastating knockouts in the history of the sport.. You could have 10 knockouts just from Tyson alone..

@ KoolHandDuke. Yes totally unacceptable not to have Tyson on this list. Also Sugar Ray Leonard’s ko of Davey Boy Green is top 3 on anybody’s list too.

Seriously
Definitely a perfect ending to the ranking. Just look at Ali's knockdown. He knocked the guy down walking backwards all while his opponent is walking towards him. His accuracy and power is on point.

Love Foreman’s unconventional style. That lead in with the uppercut is just too damn cool.
Great video, Ray Mercer knocked out Tommy Morrison too in the most brutal way, should have been on the list as well
Big George's uppercut is art! Beautiful ~~~What a punch!
I remember Weaver knocking out Tate in the 15th when it had pretty much been Tate all the way. What a shocker that was.

Zion Williams in white shorts at 7:30
8:39 was an outstanding delivery of the Foreman cast iron Grill
I've never seen someone throwing so effortlessly and yet with so much power as Foreman used to. Hell the gap between what you expect in your brain and what actually happens is absurd.

Foreman chopped wood to add that extra thump after each punch. The combination of deceptive speed, heavy handed weight shifting power and experience was all George Foreman.

Foreman I feel had arguably the heaviest punch. In his prime, he was out to hurt you permanently. Ali had his number though.

@@JamesinAZ I think Foreman probably did lasting damage to Ali though. Even though Ali won that fight, he probably lost the war eventually.
That Weaver-Tate ko reminded me of EA Sports Fight Night games and getting in the extra smacks while the opponent's body frozen in time is making their way down to the canvas. Also surprised the ref even bothered counting as long as he did with that man's soul resting in another dimension

he let that man fall flat on his face unconscious and continued to give him the entire 10 count. Ahh the good ol days

I'll never understand that from boxing refs. You just saw that man's soul get sent to the shadow realm... The fuck you counting for? Call that man as knocked out and get him some fuckin help lol!

It was so simple, and so compact no wasted motion...like he was walking by someone in the park and then Boom 💥💥
Damn! George Foreman's punches are like guided missiles -- his accuracy with those punches at pin point. -dc
