    Honestly it's tragic. V&V were on track to be future gold medalists. Skaters this young should keep relationships professional. I wish the fans understand this. The insane amount of posts desperate for them to be in love definitely contributed to fueling the tension between this team.

    The adults on their team should have advised them to remain professional instead of starting a relationship in the first place until they were older and more sure of their intentions and had the emotional maturity to handle a new relationship under such public scrutiny and stress. Relationships at that age are often fleeting and that's normal. While I'm happy that neither is in an uncomfortable situation anymore this should have been handled differently from the start.

I truely did fear that them getting into a relationship could potentially end their career together and then all my fears came true. I'm so sad we lost such an amazing couple on ice. But at least vasilisa and Maxim look very promising. Haven't seen much of Valery and his partner but truely hope the best for them. Once again... There is just something with this sport and child abuse (of so pany different kinds...)they seem inseparable...

Unfortunately, when two people look good together, shippers tend to not give a shit about whether or not their personalities match. It sounds like they had a really toxic relationship that wasn't healthy for either of them, but as long as two people are gorgeous, shippers don't care how much they have to suffer to stay together.

    Great story! However: 1. Gordeeva and Grinkov were pair skaters, not ice dancers. They did have chemistry in their skating though. 2. Valeriy Angelopol is a nephew of Oleg Ovsyannikov, Anjelika Krylova's ice dance partner in sport, so it wasn't hard for Valery to find his way into her group for the reasons very much known. It is still unclear why she sided with Vasilisa over her family member, rumours are they are incompatible in their views towards training methods. 3. Evgeniy Pluschenko is known for picking up skaters who left other camps, regardless of the reasons they left. So it's no surprise he called Valeriy.

    Academy of Pluschenko is a private school and rather expensive, while Angelica Krylova is a coach in a federal school. In fact, it means, that Valeri trains for free in Pluschenko's school only until he wins competitions and stays in TOP-6 at Russian Nationals. He won't be in TOP-6 with his new partner not this year, not next year. It is expected, that he will compete with juniors this season, because it is the only way for him to qualify for the national team and get money from Federation (the best junior pair usually gets into the national team). So, Valeriy will be ok this year, but next year... With his new partner he has got no chances for adult TOP-6. And I don't think Pluschenko will train him for free.

Куда он потом втиснется с Сашей Шинкаренко, ну я не знаю. Допустим, с Сашей поработают над скольжением и техникой, но такое есть у нас, Хавронина, Рыбакова и Щербакова всё равно катят лучше. This is so true lol! I don't mean to stereotype, but all of my male friends who are into ice skating are gay. Though I'd imagine that it might be a bit different in Russia where the sport makes you a celebrity. My understanding is that it's seen as a cool thing for straight boys to do with potential for government earnings, so a lot of parents sign their kids up regardless of gender.

  • @AneXineohp

    @AneXineohp

    20 күн бұрын

    What does their personal sexual preferences or orientation, in a relation to gendered attraction, have to do with their chemistry? There's something relevant about the three types of chemistry listed in the video for ice dancers, you're just yapping about sexuality where it makes no sense. Those dancers you listed are friends/teammates/partners, or bonded in some way regardless of them being gay lmao, it's not like one being gay or both of them being gay would make them closer somehow. Your proposal is very tryhard. And those sets aren't really known for their chemistry, anyways. Just because it's prominent doesn't mean it means anything, there's plenty of gay people in the skating world so it's inevitable; there's also way more of a plenty of straight people, so it's inevitable that most partners are going to be straight. You people need to stop putting such an emphasis on being gay or straight or whatever because you can never logically explain how it matters.

    @@taylorg2320 it's not seen as a cool thing for straight boys, what does that even mean?! Okay, at this point, you're just pulling things out of nowhere and it's getting absurd. Nor is it a gender thing lmao, so why wouldn't they regardless of gender? Y'all are narrow minded as hell. You're being weird for no reason and applying some random theory that doesn't make sense, it's just a respectable sport that garnered Russia a lot of popularity and also has a lot of Slav historical background and roots. I'm still stuck on the "cool thing for straight boys" thing, and how you somehow connected that to government earnings in Russia.

    @@AneXineohp You sound extremely chronically online. As much as I wish the world wasn't still incredibly heteronormative, young boys absolutely do still get bullied by their peers for engaging in "feminine" sports. Denying it won't make it different. So, if given a choice, a lot of straight guys don't feel strongly about participating in these sports due to peer pressure from their friends. Gay boys are usually the ones who defy the odds and do what they enjoy regardless of what their peers think, so they end up being predominantly the ones who participate in these sports in first world countries. I come from an eastern european country with a culture extremely similar to Russia. I don't know where you come from, but in countries like mine, potential for salary and government earnings make certain hobbies and sports much more desirable, it removes any stigma associated with it. That's because we're all fucking poor. If fashion design had the potential for government funding, all parents would be signing their kids up for it, regardless of whether they're girls or boys. That's because parents will use any opportunity to have their kids make money. That can lead to a country like mine having a higher percentage of straight guys in perceived "feminine" sports than you would have in a country where young kids aren't expected to think about earning an income. In countries where kids get to choose what they want to do and aren't forced into sports with government funding potential, you won't see a lot of young boys choosing a sport that will get them ostracized or made fun of. But in places like eastern europe, the kids don't get to choose. The parents make that decision if the government will fund it. As someone who is trans and gay, you sound absolutely insufferable to be around. Just an all around horrible person, with no perception or knowledge of anything outside of your tiny bubble of privilege. Absolutely fucking get over yourself, get off twitter and read a book about cultures that aren't your own. I don't fucking want people like you defending or representing the LGBTQ community, you make things worse for all of us.

    I don’t think it necessarily pushes them that way, but yes, I agree that the best teams can compartmentalize their skating persona and relationship and their private relationship. Could they fall in love with each other ? Sure they have their hands on each other all day long, but hopefully they don’t give in to those urges ; at least not for several years when maturity in handling a break up in private life will not actually cause the break up in their partnership.

    I had been watching them periodically every season. I can't say that I didn't see this coming, because I did. Kids who get together so young rarely stay with each other. It is a natural process. The shipping of fans is expected, so I don't think this exaggerated the situation...it just prolonged the break up. I hope that she an Maxim stay professional even with the difficulty of staying as such due to the nature of your have to act in love, eventually you may fall in love for real. Hopefully, this won't happen to them because I see them being so dynamic together. Wishing both couples the best and lots of success. I hope people stop being hateful to Val and to Max who has gotten some awful hate since his pairing with Vas occurred

    This is social media at its worst as people from different backgrounds are obsessed with getting as much attention as possible to increase their popularity. For people like influencers & couples channels it’s all about making as much money as possible by selling merchandise & endorsements. It’s all very calculating yet people watching them are conned into believing it’s real. With idols, actors, celebrities, it’s about increasing their popularity but it’s a two way street as the problem is then that fans think they own these people. Especially in the case of idols where their fanbase makes or breaks them, & with actors/actresses that play couples in movies or on TV shows fans can’t separate their fictional characters from real life. Even down to ice dancers, they want the attention but then the fans become obsessed putting to much pressure on such a young couple all because again they can’t seperate them playing characters on the ice from their real life. Social media is disturbing & toxic on so many levels.
