Valeriy was given bad advice by people he trusted, "fans" unfairly demonized him and he reacted like a 20-year-old. Shocker! Get off his back and let him get on with his life and the career opportunities he has earned. He and his former partner have managed to bring new interest to figure skating, specifically Russian ice dancing, with their youth, playfulness, magnetism, athleticism, innovation, talent, music choices, and compelling programs. Valeriy himself has demonstrated affection, respect, caring and concern for the physical and emotional well-being of his team while receiving little for himself. Come on, people, he has the potential to only increase the interest in and support for his chosen sport. I personally would love to see him skate in international competition, even the Olympics!

I believe I finally understand the point of the contract after watching this interview. Apparently, various issues, such as one of them needlessly missing practice, for instance, were points of contention. All of these small disagreements snowballed (undoubtedly, somewhat fueled by hurt feelings and jealousy on both their parts) into a huge, seemingly insurmountable issue. So, in an attempt to alleviate all of this, a contract was drafted that would address each issue. It stated each unwanted behavior and a result of continuing the behavior. However, when the contract was made public, only the "consequences" page was shared. So, instead of us seeing, for example, something like this...if Vasilisa and Valeriy do not abide by these agreed-upon guidelines of acceptable behavior, the remainder of the contract (the "consequences") will take effect. It was the same list for both of them, but it was presented to the public as this ridiculous list of demands from Valeriy to Vasilisa. I wish the public had heard his side before now because he's been demonized, which is made even worse after realizing that he probably didn't speak in an attempt to protect Vasilisa. He also seems to have been too busy trying to handle his own emotions after being manipulated and sold-out by people he had trusted for many years. I hope public opinion will soon become positive once again for this incredibly talented young man because I believe the love and trust he had for his coach and his partner were weaonized against him. ***Please watch the interview and form your OWN opinions!

My respect for Valerie were intact and it's a sigh of relief for him to bear burden and all the blame.This man was manipulated conspired by Angelika, Vasilisa and company.angelika with the handler of maxim has already plan to pair him with Vasilisa.

I love seeing Valeriy and Vasilisa skate together. Yes, perhaps in the near future they will be together again only with other coach for them. Angelika is not an angel. She betray Valeriy and used Vasilisa to hurt Valeriy. Angelika is the worst of all. She should be kick out for being a coach.

I am surprised to hear that they didn't have contracts. Every partnership should have one, to outline basic terms and conditions like what he listed, paying for equipment, disciplinary rules for no show for training sessions, trainers, etc. At the end of the day, the success comes when both parties work equally hard.His demands are very reasonable, actually. It sad that both women back stabbed him that way. 🙄😒 He seems a nice guy, so I wish him success.

@fghgf8447 I am not from Russia, so I am not familiar with the rules of sports pairs etc, but I do think every partnership should be with contracts outlining simple rules and expectations from each partner.Then again, each story has two or more sides, so we might never know what happened. 🤔

I definitely think Vasilissa broke his heart, and he acted out of hurt. But I have to agree that their chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥

What a great guy. Women are often problems. I believe he is much better without her and the coach. One trying to save her bacon with the Federation. Krylova should protect her pupils and not throw them under the bus. Awful woman imo. Valeriy you are a phenomenal skater and you will rise again from this.

In a recent instance post his partner I can’t spell her name but she posted the reason why and it’s because he gave her a paper she had to sign by sep 1st and it was because he wanted her to pay for everything the tickets to the flights, extra ring time, new skates and even more and he said “if you didn’t sign it I’m not going to be your partner”. It’s rlly confusing to explain Edit: Reflecting on the separation from her partner Valeriy Angelopol, Vasilisa Kaganovskaia shared her perspective on the matter: "Valera presented a contract to me, stating that unless I signed it by September 1st, he would discontinue our skating partnership. The contents of the contract pertained to me providing comprehensive support for him."

He was really really depressed for months, said he didn’t see a reason to live etc. his family pulled him out of it and he still skated with her professionally. Then their professional relationship ended in August 2023 and it was a MESS. People say he “betrayed her” and pointed all the fingers at him because she and the coach put out a misleading narrative about him and a contract showing one page and saying he wanted money from Vasilisa. But that story they put out and told the internet was not the whole picture, only a small half truth. They likely posted it to save their reputation with the Russian skating federation. Valera had reasons for what he did, him and Vasilisa had a big fight in July about something nobody knows but the problem had been a consistent big problem between them. Due to this Valera had some feelings of wanting to break up the duo. But they worked some things out and coach Krylova told Valeriy & Vasilisa that they needed a bilateral contract to avoid the conflicts and keep them together. Everyone agreed to it and the terms laid out were by all of them in July. Vasilisa, her mother, Valeriy, & Anjelika Krylova all agreed. But Valeiry got betrayed and thrown under the bus for the whole world to torment. He was bullied by thousands and got constant death threats. He was not the bad guy. Here’s the thing, The contract wasn’t for money for either of the and had an entire other pages with the same things that Vasilisa showed us that was written for Valeiry to do or “pay”. It wasn’t just terms for Vasilisa but both. It was Bilateral. Part 1 of 2.

The entire contract was a disciplinary and conditional concerning their private problems to keep them as a pair because they were having those internal struggles but with the contract neither would have really paid even if it was broken. It was all a deterrent to future violations of ethics between the duo. They didn’t even Where the problem really lies is the coach Krylova didn’t go to the federation with the internal struggles between the pair. She wanted to keep the matter confidential and out of the eye of the Russian Skating Federation so they wouldn’t intervene and she could figure things out privately. But the coach was supposed to include the Skating Federation in all matters like this from the start. She didn’t. However the Russian Federation found out about this private problem and contract and came to have a meeting with all of them. And then the coach for fear of repercussions most likely, threw Valeiry under the bus and said he never confided in her about any problems between the two and he brought this contract out of nowhere. Which was all a lie because she insisted on it in the first place and these problems had been reoccurring over most of a year. Valeriy and Vasilisa had both talked to her many times on the matter. But she did it to save face because she would have been in a not great spot for not including the federation and the federation’s guidelines. Krylova right then said she didn’t want to coach Valeriy anymore and Valera walked away. They didn’t even say goodbye. Vasilisa was a bystander and Valera got the blame. Vasilisa then made a post and all of her followers started cyber bullying Valera. They made most likely irreconcilable mistakes. And now trust is broken. 😢 Part 2 of 2.

However prior to this, and where the problem really lies is the coach Anjelika Krylova didn’t go to the federation about the internal struggles between the pair. She wanted to keep the matter confidential and out of the eye of the Russian Skating Federation so they wouldn’t intervene and she could figure things out privately. But this kind of thing was something she was SUPPOSED TO include the Skating Federation in all matters like this from the start. She didn’t. So, In the meeting with the federation in late August, Valerie was explaining the problem to them and then his coach, Krylova, told the federation that she knew nothing of the problems he was saying and that he had never come to her about anything. It was a lie and she threw him under the bus. Even Vasilisa confirmed that in her Instagram post saying they talked to her in July. But Krylova did it to save face for not including the federation and following the federation’s guidelines. The federation then left the decision up to Valeriy on whether to leave or find common ground, but Krylova right then in the meeting said she didn’t want to coach Valeriy anymore and she was kicking him out. Valera didn’t want to go. But she said he would never step a foot on the skating rink again. And so Valera walked away. They didn’t even say goodbye. Vasilisa was a bystander and didn’t say anything in the meeting and Valera got the blame. Vasilisa then made a post a day or two after and all of her followers started cyber bullying Valera and sending him death threats. Because she posted one single page from the contract that had a bunch of disciplinary conditions concerning money & payments. She told everyone he just wanted money from her. But this was not true. ⁠@@Alligator_wildno one truly knows the extent of the contract outside of V&V and their immediate circle but it appears the only way either of them would have been penalized or suffer any kind of consequences (monetarily or otherwise)would be if they failed to meet the expectations of a solid and fair partnership. The dedication these athletes give to their sport is insane and to have 1 participant not giving their all is a problem. It appears the contract was to keep them both on track to reach their full potential as a pair. It sounds like he was given advice by his coach who he fully trusted, took the advice, and then was thrown to the wolves and lost everything. Again, no one truly knows the full unbiased story but this man has dedicated most of his life to skating and for whatever reason he has lost his partner and coach and is trying to rebuild and find a new home in this sport. I wish them both success and happiness and I look forward to him returning to the ice and blowing us all away.

I think this young man, who obviously hasn't read many books, was badly advised by the mother. He is going to miss out on World and Olympic medals because the mom couldn't advise him to just grow up and get over it.
